Tell us more, good sir. Should there be any limits on what these Personas/Stands/Digimon can or cannot do? How much of them can a person have? Will this be a fight-heavy game? Is there a theme? Is there a stat system?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.Split personality that you can see? Sounds kinda like Tulpamancy or the Persona series.
In any case, announcing possible interest.
There will be limits. Long range and short range Spirits for example, classified into Blue and Red classes. Reds are the most powerful of course being short range fighters, Blues are weaker but make up for it with long range attacks.
Every user can have one unless you have been cybernetically augmented. Balance reasons.
Heavy fighting will be involved but it won't be the overarching theme, no Stat systems.
Hmm, to clarify. If somebody wants to have more than one Will, they need to have cybernetic enhancements? Is it possible to have more than one, as long as only one can manifest at a time - like in Persona?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often. You can't have more than one. These are intrinsically linked with your character, they talk back to you because your psyche has been split to make these things work.
Cybernetic enhancements remove your ability to do so. Trading in a squishy flesh body for a super strong mechanical one.

Ah, so like Persona teammates. And - cybernetics removes the ability to manifest the Stand at all, but makes the person able to go one-on-one against Stands with their own body, something like this?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.Essentially.
Announcing interest.
Interest~
off the shitsExcellent. More for the thread.
Now. Ideas for names, anyone got anything?
Also interested
Also interested, because it reminds me of Jojo.
I'm already fond of the name "Iron Minds".
Excellent, kind of what I was going for. And I was hoping for someone to like the name. In fact that is what I am going to call the Spirits now. They are the Iron Minds of your Steel Willpower!
Okay sign ups will be posted at a later date. For now World building.
For example the Iron Minds act as their own individuals and hold their own personality. But they must still obey your commands and may have some choice words on it. There is still a link between you and them.
Well, is this a modern day setting, fantasy, space opera, cyberpunk or what? Are punch-ghosts common knowledge, or are they kept a secret?
Near future near modern day with a masquerade going on about these things. Expect said masquerade to be broken by the story's events.
How much of the Iron Mind's personality is influenced by their user?

I'm just throwing more questions out here, since that seems to be a good way to worldbuild and get other's input on it.
Manifestation of Iron Wills: Is it a natural, "you are born with it" kind of thing? Exposure to space-rockium? Are people aware that they've got one as soon as they appear, do they become obvious after a traumatic experience?
I'm assuming that with the presence of cyborgs, governments are aware of the whole phenomenon. What's the average stance, are they afraid of them and want to remove them, or do they seek the military applications of having soldiers with spooky ghosts? Are extra-governmental organizations like corporations aware of Iron Wills?
Ah yes, more questions. Do normal people see the I Ms? Are they always active and need to be hidden, always hidden and need to be called forth, or can be hidden or active as they please? Is there a strain on the user's mind when calling or manifesting one? Must they be humanoid, or look roughly like creature, or can they look like anything at all? What about the minimum/maximum size?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.@Nouct - It varies from person to person, for some people a Iron Will is like having a clone of yourself down to personality, for others it's like having the one person who infuriates you the most.
@Wikkit - Manifestation must be brought about, you need to get exposure to the right material and having your brain chemistry altered so this split personality can manifest. And people are aware when they get one because typically they get a voice talking to them.
@The Nobody - IMs must be called forth into being, they can appear to normal people but only if the caster and the Will wish it to be so. Mental strain only occurs after a battle because the Iron Will needs to rest and that takes out quite a bit of processing power on the human brain. There is no set need to be humanoid, it could be a creature, a blog monster. It just needs to be capable of holding a conversation and recognizable as that. Humanoids are just more common. Maximum size is considered to be never bigger than 7 feet, minimum is 4.
It goes without saying that getting psychic powers that you can hold a conversation with makes it hard to live a normal life, even in just day to day stuff, thankfully most Iron Wills go silent once they retreat into the caster, quite a few Casters have gone years without summoning theirs and have forgotten about them.
As for how the masquerade works, the Governments and various Organizations do know about the Iron Wills and are preforming Research into it. The Cyborg tech is actually more common being more available for public use.
There goes my idea for a scouting "Pixie familiar". Or the talking sword. Hmm... What if it's a talking armor+sword, that is actually hollow inside, and so can contain people and stuff?
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often. It is possible, just so long as it isn't absurd amounts of storage.
What happens if the Iron Mind or the Caster is killed? Does the death of a Caster cause a psychic burst erasing people's memories of them? In addition, couldn't a Caster just get cybernetics that don't affect their brains? Like, what if they lose their limbs? Combat cybernetics are naturally going to be expensive and moderated, so it would be easy enough to stop a Caster from truly enjoying both worlds.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."
Alright welcome to the Interest and Worldbuilding Thread.
So how many of you would be interested in a RP centered around your characters either getting Psychic powers that manifest themselves as a almost split personality that you can see or being made more than man.
If so, what would we call these manifestations of fighting Will, because I already have ideas for the Transhumans to essentially be combat cyborgs.
