In my story, the main character is the son of an angel and a demon, since neither are corporeal form, how would that work?

If the angels and the demons can "breed" with humans (by virgin conception or some such), then you can have :

  • The child (conceived normally) of a half-angel and a half-demon. A quarter-angel, quarter-demon, half-human. Other permutations are the child of a half-angel and a demon, and the child of a half-demon and an angel.
  • The child of a woman "impregnated" by both an angel and a demon at the same time. Would be either a third-angel, third-demon, third-human, or a half-angel, half-demon if the double incarnation somehow removes the human part (apart from the material body itself, of course).

Depends on the mythology you're using. For example, if demons are fallen angels, there's at least no species barrier...

Adoption? (Only half joking). Bod Owens of The Graveyard Book is adopted by a ghost couple even though he was still a living baby. He's still living all the way through the backstory and book, but he picks up on some ghost skills.

Creation ex nihilo: just miracle up a baby. No pregnancy or anything.

"Resurrection" of a dead child (perhaps a more demonic way of doing it). Replace the departed soul with a mix of their angelic and demonic essenses?

Make use of a "first born son" payment by a mortal. Could go like simple adoption (we're your parents now) to the soul-replacement resurrection option.

You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My Tumblr

Another option: Conception via possession. In a setting that has supernatural elements already attaching a metaphysical component to parentage isn't that much of a stretch...

When a mommy and a daddy love eachother very much they share a very special hug and then nine months later a stork comes and gives them a baby. tongue

As to incorporeality, I take it to mean that this child was...shall we say created in the biblical method?

Well, hell you're the author. Just say that they can temporarily become solid or something.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

It always baffles me when people ask questions like this. Angels and demons do not exist, people! Make up whatever shit you want!

  • He's adopted, but lives in the other dimensions for so long that some of the physics over there starts to rub off on him, activate genes that humans almost never activate. He ate a pomegranate!
  • Fallen Angel doesn't fall that far, maybe only as far as earth, and thus becomes corporeal. Then has the opposite of immaculate conception, getting preggers by a demon. Might work the other way around, too.
  • Corporeal demons from a long time ago cross-pollinated with humans, and corporeal angels more recently (a few generations back) cross-pollinated with humans. Corporeal demon-angel is a fraction of both but mostly human. For whatever reason, the demon-angel genes act up that much more, and the ancestral font (like fountain, not like typeface) are the best ones to ask about why. But they just go, "That's how it be, great-umpt-grandson. But sure yeah, we'll parent. We're immortal, and really bored."
  • Abrahamic angel and demon make an incorporeal baby via syncretism (see Serapis, who either has two dads or is his two dads). Baby demonangel goes to some Hindu-Buddhist or Celtic sub-deity spirit's neighborhood for a play date, but trips and falls into a reincarnation drain-wheel thingummy. Only it's never been corporeal before, so it's just incarnation as in the first time.
  • Scheming antagonist steals him from the crib and gives him a potion to make him corporeal. No, wait, sorry, that's from Disney's Hercules.
  • Something like Insidious happens, where somebody's going around out of body and then this demon-angel comes in and cozies up inside the body instead. But because of neuroscience, he wakes up thinking that he's always been coporeal, and maybe had a weird past life regression (instead of an out of body experience that he never came back from) and now there's this very angry ghost floating around that looks exactly like him and is trying to possess his body. Maybe his newfound demon-angel parents can help, but they just find it funny.

One of the two parents was raped (and dont assume it has to be the angel).

Unless you're making them very different, I can't really see the angel doing the raping...

Besides, wasn't the question about the logistics of two incorporeal beings having a human-looking offspring ?

@OP: However you want them to. In The Bible, angels and demons were part of the same race but on opposite sides of a conflict; and they were sexless in their true forms and were always male when they took physical form. So from the source material your question is nonsense, and therefore it is obvious that your angels and demons work differently. So the question is how are they different?

In my story, the demons as we would know them are spirits heavily corrupted by the original fallen angels. The fallen, in turn, were twisted by hell after their banishment, or rather, by their emotions, with their rage and agony twisting them into truly evil beings. Also, the Bible doesn't exist in this universe, nor does Christianity, really.

They aren't corporeal because both angels and demons are half-corporeal. So they reproduce by doing a Fusion Dance. Poor kid has their mother and father literally in their head all throughout puberty... I think they'd turn to smoking a truly astonishing amount of pot.
