Well, that's certainly eye-catching...it's got my pending other suggestions.
Shows the intention of the trope and not the letter. It's good.
Check out my fanfiction! That's certainly an effective demonstration.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"OK for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like it.
I like that it is not exactly a kissing gesture and not exactly a baby. It is exactly Politicians Kiss Babies.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Meh.
But I can't seem to find a good screenshot of that one Bugs Bunny cartoon where he and Yosemite Sam are election rivals, so whatever.
Real Life is ok? [1]◊
Even if it is, the argument about it being too literal has merit.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYep. The fact that the OP suggestion demonstrates the trope without being overly literal about it won me over.
That's enough consensus; the pic's up and tagged. Caption or no?
"Yes,that's Hitler with a child...and no we did not Photoshop this"
New theme music also a boxMy only final reservation is that I think this discussion puts too much importance on the second sentence of the trope description. But like I said, whatever, it's not actively offensive.
^^ I think something along the lines of "anyone who shows affection to children can't do bad things" would be more appropriate.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Perhaps a witty comment about this being one of the few times Hitler is not eating babies?
No, that's why Politicians Kiss Babies: to seem beneficent. It is not an Out-of-Character Moment.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Since he can't be on Evil tropes, let's not imply as much in the caption.
Check out my fanfiction!I agree that it's uncool to call a real person (any real person) evil; but whether or not it should be there, I have a line in my head between "bad person" and "did bad things"... one is subjective judgement and one is objective fact, and I think it's an important distinction. The trope is that policitians kiss babies (etc) to seem nice. This is a really great opportunity to spell that out explicitly, because virtually everyone knows the guy in the picture is a politician that did some not-nice things in office. The picture implies that, anyway... it's why it's good IMO.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. No, I think your idea of a suggestion is a decent one. I was thinking of doing stuff like potholing to Child Eater, which is NRLEP.
Check out my fanfiction!Perhaps, then, add something to the description to soft-pedal the "evil" thing. Maybe even just another reason for politicians to kiss babies, to "show compassion and connect with the 'common voter'" or something.
"Do you know who kissed babies? HITLER!"
No consensus on a caption. Locking this up; further discussion can take place in the repair thread.
It's not exactly a kissing gesture and it's not exactly a baby but I think it hits the point home.
