Talia drugging and raping Batman was in the first place a retcon of their original union in the Son of the Demon graphic novel Morrison used as the basis for his own story. In Son of the Demon Talia and Bruce had fully consensual sex.

There would be no need for the Should Batman Kill The Joker argument if they hadn't turn him into a sadist and a killer. He was interesting enough as a mad genius obsessed with jokes. DC has no one to blame but themselves.

What is more frustrating is they keep repeating the 'Joker reinvents himself constantly' mantra, so they make sure they have an out door for that. Yet for all that talk on his unpredictability, he's still more and more predictable in how all he does is turning himself darker and trying to push the EEEEDGEEEEEE even harder. Fuck, even Carnage has broken from that pattern of late.

Although there's potential in what Snyder is doing with the Joker right now, but by this point one knows it'll only result in more of the same in time for Leto's take.

Can't have Batman look bad for being an absentee father, so let's have him drugged and raped instead!

Like sometimes, I wonder what goes through comic writers and editors minds when they conceive this stuff?

The "Talia drugging Batman" thing originates with Grant Morrison trying to reference a scene from an old comic he didn't remember correctly. Its one of the biggest problems with his Batman run, and it could have been avoided if he'd bothered to reread Son of the Demon.

You're just in time. Bayble Cuber's going to watch an inkle dribble adventure from days of old on my holo-pyramid viewer.

IIRC, Bruce never even learned he had left Talia pregnant, so it wouldn't have even been his fault.

If I remember correctly, in Son of The Demon Talia told Bruce she was pregnant (after the whole consensual sex thing), and he was happy, nay, elated about it. However, he showed signs of wanting to give up being Batman so as to be there for his unborn kid (there was a "a child needs it's parents" leitmotif running through the story). Talia didn't think he should give up being Batman, for a variety of reasons, so she told him she'd miscarried after an attack by the story's villain. At the end, you see li'l Baby Boy Wayne (who they were apparently going to call Thomas, NOT Damian, or Tallant, or Ibn al Xuffasch) being adopted by an unnamed couple, accompanied by the Wayne family necklace Bruce had given Talia on learning she was pregnant.

For years li'l Thomas Wayne was called the best kept secret in comics, given that the story WAS considered to be in continuity (or at least, was never officially said to NOT be in continuity). It seems remarkably lazy that Morrison couldn't just go read the story, or, barring that, just give Mike W.Barr a call and ask him about it.

Personally, I think the retcon was done on purpose. After all, the rape and murder of Sue Dibny in Identity Crisis was "big" for DC (from their POV anyway.) "How can we top that? I know! Let's have Batman raped too! And his son is a dick!" -_-

Oh man I read that so wrong, I started from this weird anachronstic order, of the last sentence then my eyes moved and sideways for some reason and I read. "Maybe next time someone gets raped Batman should Top next time." I'm sorry I just woke up. Give me 20 and I'll be sane again.

I don't like Superman's new costume.

Other than that, looks OK so far.

So as expected, they confirmed they went with that line-up because of the TV show.

What's the point of having Blue Beetle though? He wasn't part of the original Teen Titans tv show. Honestly I'm getting kinda burned out on his character thanks to his overexposure in YJ Invasion.

I'm getting burned out by the Titans always having the same line-up because of the 2003 show. I was hoping they'd mix it up and have Wonder Girl and Kid Flash or something.

So Beetle is more than welcome for me.

I didn't watch much of YJ unfortunately and I find Blue Beetle's schtick kinda interesting.

Also we have a different Robin this time around (the 2003 Titans had Dick Grayson. They didn't flat out say it but it was clued in on) and Starfire is the leader interestingly enough so the roles definitely changed.

This may be late, but when I saw Tropic Thunder for the first time on HBO during a getaway a few weeks ago, I was immensely surprised when I found out the actor who plays the kid leader of the Flaming Dragons had the same name as the one voicing Beast Boy.

I was like, "holy crap, Beast Boy was is Tropic Thunder! How about that?"

They explain why right there in the article. They were down a man since Cyborg is a member of the Justice League in this universe.

Honestly I'm getting kinda burned out on his character thanks to his overexposure in YJ Invasion.

That seems kinda weird since compared to most of the other people featured in this movie, he's had far less exposure. And like I said above, you really can't win in this regard. You add Blue Beetle and people complain about how he wasn't in the show or isn't what they consider an iconic Titan. You go just with the line-up from the TV show or Wolfman/Perez era, and people complain about you not trying anything different.

[up] In other words: damned if you don't, damned if you do.

In any case, I quite like Beetle's inclusion. He was totes great in Batman: The Brave and the Bold (which was my introduction to him) and he's tech and gadget-y enough to fill in the "tech and gadget-y guy" void that Cyborg left when he joined the Justice League.

My rebuttal to the Blue Bettle complaint: neither was Damian.

This movie in no ways have anything to do with the Teen Titans cartoons nor the Justice League, so the line-up can be any teen hero they want to use. And besides, the lack of the ORIGINAL members of the team besides Robin disturbs me more;I would of love to see Wally and Donna get more exposure

Done watching Justice League vs. Teen Titans.

Damien went back to being unlikable for the duration of the film, though I suppose that depends on how much you liked him in Batman: Bad Blood. He DOES get a face full of chest blaster from Blue Beetle after he picks a fight with him, so at least he wasn't untouchable. Still get's some ridiculos feats like one-hit K Oing Trigon mooks and tripping The Flash(albeit he was possessed so maybe you could argue Trigon didn't have full control of Flash's powers yet. He also grows close to Raven throughout the film, and they do have ship tease at the Carnival, but no hooking up at the end of the film.

The Justice Leauge are possessed one by one, starting with Superman then Wonder Woman and Flash. Cyborg is possessed by freed, and Batman puts himself into a coma to prevent possession. Green Lantern shows up but isn't present for the opening fight with the Legion of Doom, the final battle with Trigon, nor possessed. Aquaman and Shazam don't show up period. Superman is freed first by Damien stabbing him with Kryptonite, then Flash and Wonder Woman are freed from possession by Superman (Flash gets his leg broken and Supes uses the Lasso of Truth to free Diana like he saw her do to Weather Wizard near the start of the film). The League only fights the Titans once, when Wonder Woman, Flash. Cyborg are just possessed. That fight ends with Raven agreeing to leave with Wonder Woman and Flash so the others are spared death.

The plot is basically season 4 of Teen Titans, or the Terror of Trigon comic like I though it would be. One last thing? Nightwing never fights with the Titans. He drives Damien to the tower and talk the Starfire over the labtop, that's it.

The animation is for the most part OK, but is it me, or is there something wrong with Superman's face? Like, it looks too wide.
