I don't know why, but when this show tries doing nonsensical humor(like the end of the Toliet episode), I'm more just sitting in confusion than laughing. Which I find weird since I can watch stuff like Uncle Grandpa and Bobobo and laugh my ass off. I kinda feel like it's a bit forced at times. It'd probably be less weird to me if it was being done by someone like Mr. Mxyzptlk.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I share those same feelings. I just sat there saying "What...?" several times when I saw the end of that episode.
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."Hey, as long as the staff had fun with it, and it got ratings up, I ain't complaining. What are the chances we will have a "Titans Bomb" week?
"We be we baby!"I'm genuinely surprised that there hasn't been one yet.
"Pardon me, that extremely loud and extremely deep voice you may have just heard. It was me. Oh, it is such a long story..."I'd compare the show to Family Guy in that the internet loathes it as you're watching an episode it gets you laughing a lot, but when you turn the telly off and reflect on it you question the quality as a whole.
The target demographic loves it, at least, and I guess that can be attributed to throwing any semblance of unity in the team out the window? That does provide a lot more joke opportunities than a lampshading team of bumbling teenage superheroes would, I would think.
Also, should I feel bad for thinking any jokes at the expense of Robin's Badass Normal status are the funniest things about the show?
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI don't feel bad. Robin can be such an ass in this show that the jokes at his expense can be Actually Pretty Funny.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013My favorite gags are the moments when Robin demonstrates that he is unquestionably a supervillain. Breaking Kid Flash's leg to win a race, murdering Starfire's new husband in cold blood, taking advantage of Starfire's naivety to trick her into a date, etc.
Likewise, the other Titans doing similar things - such as Starfire and Raven releasing Jynx from her handcuffs for a girls' night out, or Beast Boy and Cyborg trying to murder the pizza delivery guy - are what makes this show a blast in my opinion. They don't even try to be heroes, and the juxtaposition is hilarious.
The show works better when the Titans are being outright villainous than just random and wacky.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Some of my favorite moments are the songs and dances, especially Robin dancing. Whether or not that Robin is usually being humiliated contributes to my enjoyment depends on the episode.
Trying to murder the pizza delivery guy because he's so competent at his job that it's ruining their villainous plot to steal free pizza for the rest of their lives, no less.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I don't know why, but I'm more tolerant of humor that relies on the characters being assholes than a lot of people. For example, I've never been that bothered by Family Guy's characterizations, although I certainly see why other people hate it so much. Although there have been a couple of times where I felt they took the character's selfishness and apathy too far.
I much prefer the show when it does something interesting with the characters like "Colors of Raven" or Blackfire's episode, or when they take elements from the comics such as the episode focusing on multiple Robins or when Rose Wilson appeared. I'm not opposed to random humor, but sometimes the show is too "out there" for my liking, and I feel like the random episodes have been becoming more frequent over the course of season 2.
Another thing I really like about the show is that the voice actors always sound like they're having a blast. It helps that they were all very well cast in the first place.
You know, something I don't get with this show is why is it about the Teen Titans? Like, why can't it be about original super heroes made for this show or at least DC characters that would fit the show's type of humor? I doubt that their target audience was around to know or care about the old Teen Titans cartoon.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Basically Excel Saga for an American audience.
Who would even fit besides Plastic man?

"We be we baby!"Mister Mxyzptlk, Bat-mite, hell even Larry would make more sense. I'm sure there's bound to be a lot of other nonsensical DC characters.
Same thing with the Ultimate Spider cartoon. A lot of the 4th wall breaking and chibi gags make much more sense with a character like Deadpool who's known for weird humor. Sure the old TT cartoon had it's fair share of goofy and weird moments, but not to the extent of this show.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I equate it to Eight Bit Theater.

That's probably why I am unable to enjoy this series. This kind of humor completely fails to amuse me. Especially since it has become so common in these recent years, so it's not like it's even original.
The race with KF was one of the few things that cross line twice for me, everything tends to feel cruel.
Robin is by far the funniest character in this show.
When the series was first starting out, the thing that made me laugh the most was the sheer irony of Robin of all people being an enormous cheapskate.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Who would even fit besides Plastic man?
The Suicide Squad, although Cartoon Network would have to call them Task Force X instead, I guess.
But a team of actual villains would fit this type of humor better than the Titans.
... please make Joker's Daughter the Butt-Monkey.
So it seems next week it's this shows turn for new episodes.
Fuck all y'alls, Smile Bones was great. It taught children to eat smaller bites and it had plenty of stuff for the Internet to tug it to! Everyone wins!
Dem Raven abs...

So apparently the show just scored 100 episodes.
Um...yay?
1. Cam riff? Really?
2. Ironic that just two weeks ago, MLP had their 100th episode. Is this some sort of sign?
"We be we baby!"I just found this like today.
In fact, I didn't even watch it out of skepticism. I just posted it here to see how you guys would react to it.
I actually thought a lot of the stuff in the Soccer episode was funny.
Smile Bones though...yeah, that was out there even for this show.
