I really liked the movie. Cassandra seems like fun.

I thought the pilot movie was incredible. Let's hope the series maintains this level of quality throughout.

It was surprisingly more... brooding and introspective than the movie. Wasn't expecting that. I feel like the pacing was a lot slower with more time to breathe between the wacky action scenes.

I'd love to see some shout outs to Frozen at some point, though Rapunzel and Eugene probably haven't attended Elsa's coronation yet. Rapunzel's hair is short and brunette in her Frozen cameo, and I doubt they'd have sailed to a foreign kingdom alone together as a couple before they got married. Plus it seems like Rapunzel's dad is being overprotective right now in the TV series so there's no way he'd let her leave Corona at the moment.

I honestly never thought Tangled could have a decent sequel. I thought the story was totally resolved with no lose ends, but this show proved me wrong. I think that shows that Frozen 2 also has the potential to be great. Heck, I'd be down for a Frozen TV series in the same style as this one. It could be the Superman: The Animated Series to this show's Batman: The Animated Series.

I saw the Pilot movie and it goes without saying that this is the best thing Disney animation studios has done in a while(Next to the new Ducktales).

As far as Disney princess series go, this feels more like a new Aladdin The Series compared to Elena Of Avalon. I honestly can't wait for more.

Did anyone besides me keep expecting Cassandra to be revealed to be some villain? To me, the way she seemed eager to assist Rapunzel, it seemed like she was being too nice.

I've seen people suspect that, but I didn't think that at all. And I really hope not. Rapunzel needs human friends who aren't secretly evil.

Platonic friends are important too, plus a similar aged female friend to emote too is a very good thing.

What annoys me about Cassandra, as I already mentioned, is that she eclipses Flynn in everything except humor- reducing him to be just *another* funny sidekick in the show.

Maybe I'm biased because I'm worried that Disney is trying a bit too hard recently to make their female characters badass- its getting to the point that Elena of Avalor and Sofia the First either do well at anything or master it very quickly. The fact Sofia's Aunt is very much a Mary Sue doesn't help either.

Hmm, well this is just the pilot movie. Hopefully, Eugene will have more of a role than just "funny sidekick" in the series.

The only thing that bugged me about Cassandra was the way her jerkishness didn't get addressed, but rather just kind of... stopped, and her dislike of Flynn goes beyond being funny is actually unhelpful at times (like the time she keeps Rapunzel from telling Flynn about the hair when she wants to). She reminds me Razoul, if nobody had ever called Razoul out on his shit like he so often was in the Aladdin movies and series.

That said, I think the reason for that is because we were supposed to suspect Cassandra of being Lady Cain (which would have made her Cassandra Cain. Pity). Until you know that Cain is someone else, it looks like Cassandra is displeased with her place in the castle, actively trying to drive a wedge between Rapunzel and her true love, has a suspicious hidden supply of weapons and stealth gear, and appears to be trying to trick Rapunzel into leaving the castle alone without any guards or Flynn. There are even a few ominous camera tricks when they first sneak out that make it look like Cass is about to betray her.

But then she wasn't the bad guy after all, so it turns out she's just a dick (albeit a well meaning one). I assume she'll get character development in the series proper, though.

I don't see her overshadowing Flynn any other way. Cass is more present, but he's still more important to Rapunzel's life and character development than she is, and is still a badass (I like that nobody needed to rescue anybody else in the final battle, beyond Rapunzel handing Flynn a weapon at one point).

Yeah Eugene's role in the pilot film did strike me as kinda odd too. He no longer seemed like that "dashing", but accident-prone thief we saw in the film. Now, he just seems to be Rapunzel's confidant. Like, he's just there to calm her down and tell her everything will be alright.

I must say I love "Wind In My Hair (especially the reprise)". Menken is definitely in full-form, not to mention Mandy Moore singing again is great.

For me it sort of made sense that Rapunzel didn't confide in Eugene about her current issues in the pilot. Eugene was a bit enamored with life in the palace and kind of exacerbated the issues in her proposal so Rapunzel confided in Cassandra over it. So Cassandra sort of made more sense to be her main partner in crime with the plot triggering adventure then Flynn did in this case.

Watching the first episode. I wasn't expecting a dream sequence so early but I wonder if the stepmother will play any major part on Rapanzel's psyche.

Also, is that Varion kid voiced by Kuzco?

I liked that episode quite a bit. I pretty much figured Gothel would be a part of a dream sequence, so that made sense. So I guess the point of this season will be to unravel (heh) the mystery of the hair? That's pretty cool. Also, Varian was adorable.

[up] No, Varian isn't voiced by Kuzco. I think Kuzco was voiced by David Spade? And Varian is voiced by Jeremy Jordan.

The animation in this is simply gorgeous. I hope that once they've developed this style more it'll lead to it being used in an actual top-budget animated feature.

[up][up] If you get the Disney Channel, you can watch it for free on their website or app. Otherwise, it's available for purchase from the usual suspects — Google Play, Amazon, iTunes.

So far I really like it. It's setting up some decent character development (Rapunzel's relationship with her parents and Eugene, a little PTSD over Mother Gothel), and a bit of mystery (why is the hair back, what's with the spikes).

I wasn't that fond of the alchemist, but he didn't bug me that much.

I do love the new "I Want" Song, "Wind in My Hair".

Saw the first episode (but not the pilot; however I've seen bits of it on Youtube, so I know how Rapunzel got her hair back.) As I expected, I'm not enjoying the conflict between Flynn and Cassandra. Yes I understand it is played for laughs (and was just the set-up for this episode) but Cassandra strikes me as a bit selfish (why doesn't she own up to her part in the hair's return? Some soldier she is. Though maybe she has some reason we will see later.) Flynn also didn't have much to do here other than sound dumb with his obsession with 'secrets' and of course, being all lovey-dovey with Rapunzel. I do hope he gets to be more heroic later and earn Cassandra's respect. Hey its just the first episode, there's room to grow yet.

Btw does Cassandra appear during Rapunzel and Flynn's wedding? I don't recall. If she didn't, then the question is -besides how the hair was lost again- what happened with her.

Cassandra isn't a soldier, she's Rapunzel's handmaiden. But I can understand not wanting to own up to it because she will lose her job and likely get sent off to a convent as punishment, I don't think she really wants to be a nun. [lol]

I'm glad they went for the inevitable "Rapunzel ignores Cass' insistence that they keep this totally important thing a secret from absolutely everyone" moment sooner rather than later, since it means they won't be milking plot out of it any more.

Varion was a pretty neat character who will almost certainly be a recurring. That last scene with his dad was brutal, though.

It's be cool if he was a recurring source of trouble (though not a villain, of course). Kind of like Gyro Gearloose: always inventing new things with the best of intentions, but which always go awry and cause all sorts of mayhem.

Cassandra isn't a soldier, she's Rapunzel's handmaiden.

The heck she isn't; you don't learn to be that badass by taking care of maidens. At the very least she's a bodyguard hired by her parents.

And she gets sent to a convent if her blame is found, boo-hoo. The point is, she is still basically saying "please trust me more than your boyfriend." Honestly she only got away with that because Rapunzel is such a doormat (another thing that annoyed me.)

Her father is captain of the guard and apparently where she picked up her skills. Her actual job is being Rapunzel's Lady-In-Waiting.

Also she stuck her neck out pretty far for Rapunzel by sneaking her out in the first place so I can see why she would want to help her out a little.
