Yeah, I have no idea what this trope is going for either.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick"Lack of creativity when supposedly deviating from standard being conventions" is the closest thing I can find.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanExcellent example of why tropes should not be based on a complaint. Cutlist and move on is my vote. This cannot be saved.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong. — H.L. MenckenAnother vote to cut.
Reading the trope title, I thought it was going to be something like how monsters are claimed to be different from something else that exists in the story, but actually aren't. Basically Monster as an Informed Attribute. But no, that's not it.
What I can gather from the description and examples is that it's just complaining about Fridge Logic, frequently on assumptions made for the explicit purpose of creating the Fridge Logic in the first place, like taking a Handwave or short line of Techno Babble and assuming it must explain absolutely everything about the situation, with no consideration for alternate or additional explanations, more complicated mechanics, or plain old Unreliable Narrators.
It's sort of like Voodoo Shark, only it makes just as much sense as previously.
I wouldn't miss it if it was cut. Or reworked entirely.

Check out my fanfiction!Throwing in my hat for cut or redefine as "monster as an Informed Attribute" as suggested above.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I think that's just trying to add a definition to a name. If someone wants to YKTTW "monster as an Informed Attribute," that's fine, but it shouldn't be this trope.
Our Monsters Are Insufficiently Different found in: 2 articles, excluding discussions.
Since January 1, 2012 this article has brought 11 people to the wiki from non-search engine links.
Nobody will miss this if it's cut.
Just to clarify: I wasn't suggesting that redefinition. That's just what kind of trope I thought it sounded like.
Check out my fanfiction!I was more addressing Karxrida.
So was I.
Check out my fanfiction! So this is Cookie Cutter Monsters in works that claim otherwise?
Complaining about Fridge Logic in relation to Our Monsters Are Different.
I vote for cutting it.
I think it should be cut as well, for the record.
For we shall slay evil with logic...I vote cut.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.And it's cut. Closing.

Sorry if I'm doing this incorrectly, but this trope seems to be a bit confusing to me. I have no idea what counts as this except that not everything is explained. The examples don't really help much either. It seems that it would make more sense if some of categories were split into their own pages (and it seems that some already are). It isn't linked to on any work pages either.
