So you guys know how in the comics, Magik is Colossus' little sister?

You think they'll at least try to acknowledge it? Or is it gonna be all "F*ck that sh*t!"?

Well, if it takes place in present day, they could. If it takes place in the '80s, they could try and say that she's Colossus's big sister, like they did with Havok and Cyclops.

It definitely doesn't look like it takes place in the '80s. Edit:Never mind, I keep getting this thread mixed up with the one for Gifted.

I mean, if they even attempt0 to use something resembling her actual comic backstory and powers they could do whatever they wanted. The character literally travels through time. She could be Colossus distant descendant if they wanted.

Somehow, I doubt they will include her comics backstory, which involves getting kidnapped by an actual demon and raised in Limbo. Although I would love it if she actually used her Soul Sword.

Just saying they have an out to do whatever they want. I mean, they don't even need to bring Limbo and daemons. Just go the Juggernaut route and say it is all part of her mutant powers.

I too think they probably don't want to complicate things, but teleportation into different dimensions and/or time can be a plot catalyst on its own.

Rosario Dawson is in talks to play Dr. Cecilia Reyes.

They're teasing that the movie will be "very different" and will be more of a horror movie than a superhero one.

Different universe and still in the medical profession. A doctor rather than a nurse, this time, though.

So first Thanos and now possibly Claire Temple. I wonder if Fox is gonna get more actors from the MCU to appear in their films.

Sure, but that was the all-American nuclear family Fantastic Four, not the teen angsty hunted-by-giant-murderbots X-Men spinoff New Mutants. And that's even if they weren't apparently doing the Demon Bear Saga, which was kind of a Vertigo comic before there were Vertigo comics, from what I've heard.

Hmm...if they can pull it off, then this could wind up being kind of like what Fant4stic wanted to be, but actually good.

Part Native American according to Hollywood Reporter.

Which is at least something. The Demon Bear Saga is pretty centrally about Dani Moonstar's Native American background. The fact that they went casting abroad makes me wonder how well the producers understand that, though.

New Mutants is now minus one Rosario Dawson, unfortunately. It is however also plus one Alice Braga, though. No word on why yet.
