This is the thread to dump every RP character idea you may have had but never had the RP to make them happen.

This is also meant to be a repository someone might be able to keep a character for later use, so for ease of nevigation, whatever format you use, label the very top with Setting, either generic (Fantasy) to specific (Forgotten Realms).

So, is there a format for this or can we make our own?

Besides what I noted (label what setting this character is for), use your own.

Hmm. Well I have Sijo The Interdimensional Traveler, a character I created as a way to do stories set in any series (and whose name I use as an online handle, obviously tongue). But I don't know if he'd be appropriate for an RPG game. What do you think? (He's fully described in the link above, but I could do a summary here.)

Eh, if you want? Try not to derail this... somehow. Just go ahead.

"The man known only as Sijo (not to be confused with a type of Korean poetry) is a wandering hero who studies the Multiverses. Little is known of his past. He can literally show up anywhere in time or space, though he cannot travel at will, but rather follows cosmic pathways that only he can see. He's interested mainly in studying the wonders of the universe, but often finds himself protecting innocents anyway. The only thing keeping him from interfering all the time is that he's Genre Savvy enough to tell when he's truly needed. He has gained powers in many worlds but which ones he can use depends on the rules of the universe he's in at the time. Fortunately he's also clever enough to out-think his foes or figure out how to help people with their problems even without powers. Pretty average looking. Usually stays in one place only until his curiosity is satisfied or the problem has been solved. He is not related to anyone with the last name Sue."

  • Author Avatar: Unashamedly so. ;)
  • Deadpan Snarker: when confronting absurd people or situations.
  • Expansion Pack Past: being written as I go.
  • Guile Hero: tries to use logic in all situations. Doesn't always succeed.
  • I Work Alone: Even if he wanted, he can't take anyone with him when he "jumps". He's still willing to team-up, of course.
  • Medium Awareness: Only in series where it makes sense. Those adventures are not canonical with the others.
  • Side Quest Sidestory: In stories involving RPGs, he usually takes on the optional sidequests the main Player Characters do not strictly 'have'' to.
  • Translator Microbes: Has the power to speak any language... which works most of the time.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifter: To infiltrate nonhuman races.
  • Walking the Earth(s)- But he cannot do it at will. Sometimes he's stuck in a world for weeks before the next portal opens.
  • Whatthe Hell Hero?: Has caused problems himself, on occasion.

I have this idea for a White Court Vampire Lawyer. The idea that in a betrayal and backstabby happy court like they have, even they need *someone* trustworthy.

Cue Verracco and Children, a very minor Vampire House who is just that...the Courts Law Firm. Client Privilege is Sacred (in fact, guaranteed by the Egyptian God Toth, the god of lawyers) and they are the very thing no one thinks exists: Trustworthy Whampires.

Over time this expanded beyond the White Court with Clients all over the Supernatural World, for both supernatural and mortal law.

The char in question would be the youngest daughter, relatively fresh out of the university and the new meat. Everyone knows her father is rock solid, but his youngest? Can possibly be manipulated. And what does it mean to be the one dolphin in a pond full of sharks.

As additional plot hook, I imagine her being sent to work somewhere as a prosecutor/lawyer out of the main family business for a while. Get experience before she gets to play in the adult pool.

basically, the idea is to play around with the White Court Archetype of untrustworthy schemers a bit...and the same goes for Lawyers tongue

Basically a play on Friendly Neighbourhood Vampire without trying to ape Thomas.

Now I only need a DF Rp to play her tongue
