A thread to discuss, list, scheme, post, develop and get derailed various Hyperdimension, Ultradimension and Hyperdevotion Fanfics and ideas for tropers, BY tropers. Any genre, any pairing, crossovers as okay. Feel free to pimp your works. RULES, such as they are:
1. A fic is as long or as short as you want.
2. Rule of Fun is in effect. If you're tired of the fic you're working on, stop. Though add the option for others to continue it.
3. When you post the next part of your fic, post a link to the previous part if it's not on the same page. This is optional though.

You can now walk to Leanbox, the CP Us can go ice skating, and the crazy weather throws the temporal sync between the Ultradimension and Hyperdimension out of whack again.

Watching the lazy and lackadaisical goddesses actually be forced to deal with stuff like food scarcity and the like would be interesting, but I have a feeling that exploring the less than fun aspects of an Ice Age is not what you intend.

Put simply, it's got all the potential of a darkfic. The only problem being that dark is definitely not my domain and I'd likely screw it up should I attempt such a thing. So, I'm handing the idea off in the hopes someone can make use of it.

It doesn't need to be a darkfic to deal with all that dark stuff. You can still tackle it in such a way that it's an optimistic view.

It just wasn't clear. Anyway, working on a Neptunia crossover where Neptune falls off Gameindustri and into... New Mexico and the plot of Thor. first segment so far:

In this fic, all of Norse mythology is a popular video game series called 'Mighty Dimension Asgardia', about 4th wall-breaking bishies who are the anthropomorphic personifications of mythology tropes. Thor is the Poptart-obsessed main character who personifies Cheerful Muscle Heroes, Loki personifies Broody Magic Emo Anti-Heroes (he's a tsundere), Odin personifies Badass Dirty Old Men, etc. The series started with a nonexistent budget but became so popular they were able to do a sequel/remake that didn't look like it was made in a garage. The series is infamous for each game happening in its own continuity. So far there's the Mighty Dimension, Mighty Dimension mk Beta (which introduced the Sidekick Candidates, Kid Thor, Kid Loki, Teen Odin, etc.), Mighty Dimension Triumph (which introduced the Ultimatedimension, and the new HERO— Humanoid Epic Representation Operative— of Asgard, Beta Ray Bill), the anime adaptation Mighty Dimension Asgardia - The Animation, and the remakes for the LK Vita, Ragnarok 1, 2 and 3. There's also the RTS spinoff staring Loki called Mighty Agent Loki: God Golden Leather.

But... that joke kind of doesn't work considering the Neptunia games only have two separate continuities in the main series (original and Mk2 onward). If it were a Final Fantasy spoof it'd work, but it ain't, so...

So I had been working on a Neptunia Fic a while back, Hyperdimension Neptunia Arena. Essentially a fic based on a concept for a Neptunia fighting game. I've put it on indefinite hiatus for now due to a number of factors, such as writers' block, issues with how I was handling the tone and characterisations, several OC characters getting actual Maker counterparts, not having been able to play the games myself and also motivation issues in general. I may revive it when Neptunia V II comes out, or I get a chance to play the other games, so I can get myself motivated again.

Anyone else here have any opinions on my fic?

I kinda want to write a fic in which the current CPU interact with their ancestors.

You know how the CPU represent the consoles, right?

Neptune is the scrapped console that would come in between the Genesis and the Saturn, Blanc's the Wii, Vert's the 360 and Noire's the PS 3, right?

Victory expands it so that Plutia is basically Sega's line of consoles from the Master System all the way to the Dreamcast, Blanc's the entire line of Nintendo consoles from the orignal Famicom/NES all the way to the Wii U, Vert's all three of Microsoft's consoles, from the original Xbox to the Xbox One and Noire's all four PlayStations.

However, I want to run with the idea that each generation of consoles was a different generation of CP Us.

So, starting with the NES and the Master System, we'd have Blanc and Neptune's ancestors, then their children the Genesis and the SNES, then their children as well as the new CPU, resulting in the Saturn, the N64 and the Play Station, then their children as well as the new CPU, which makes it so we've got Blanc's other as the Gamecube, Neptune's mother as the Dreamcast, Noire's mother as the PS 2 and Vert's mother as the Xbox.

The entire premise is what their relationships with their parents would be like, mostly based on what kind of follow up their console counterparts were to the parent console.

So...

Blanc, for example, has contempt for her mother, and actually idolizes her aunt. Her mother was basically content to lay about and do her own thing. Auntie Gameboy, however, utterly trounced the only other CPU candidate and was the only legitimate rival the CPU of Lastation had. For the most part, Blanc refuses to acknowledge her mother, and her relationship with her mother also strains her relationship with Rom and Ram, particularly because she feels that the same thing that happened to her mother is happening to her, that is being overshadowed by her younger siblings, who are much more popular than her (even though Blanc herself is very popular and winning the console wars of her generation).

Neptune, meanwhile, doesn't remember her mother, since Noire's mother killed her early into the console war. Because of reasons, she doesn't hold this against Noire, and her dislike of Noire's mother is for... other reasons. She is pissed about her mother's council, though, which ran Planeptune until she was old enough to take the reins herself, since they proved to be epically incompetent, and she could barely save Planeptune from the brink of oblivion. The reason she's so lazy these days is because of how much she worked back then (which is also the reason why Histoire nags her so much about the laziness, since she knows Neptune can do far better).

Noire's family is the real can of worms. She has mommy issues up the wazoo, mostly because of how insanely inferior she is. And make no mistake, Noire is inferior to her mother in every way, and it stings even more because she knows it and also knows that the reason she's so popular is less her own merit and more because she's her mother's daughter. She resents her mother, who in turn considers her and Uni utter failures. She's the only one of the CPU to be disliked by her parent.

Vert, meanwhile, is the total opposite. She's an improvement in every way over her mother. Yes, the lazy Yaoi Fangirl who spends most of her time playing MMORPG is an improvement over her mother in every way. She has the most healthy and functional relationship with her mother, with absolutely nothing particularly tragic in her backstory. Well, her mother has a bit of an issue about pushing the rivalry with Lastation onto her daughter, but the fact that Vert is actually doing better than Noire mollifies that. Basically, she's her mother's pride and joy.

Of course, their children would actually mirror the Wii U, PS 4 and Xbone, which means that Blanc's daughter reminds her of her mother, prompting Blanc to lament this fact as she tries her best to keep her daughter on the straight and narrow, Noire decides not to repeat her mother's mistakes and actually raises her daughter to avoid Noire's own mistakes and Vert... poor Vert has an utter disappointment of a daughter and it takes her a very long time to try and steer her better.

'Cuz, you know, the Wii U is just kind of doing its own thing, the PS 4 is doing loads better than the PS 3 and the Xbone was... well, Microsoft's screwups regarding it were some of the most legendarily stupid things done by a major games company.

That would be an interesting read but you'd have to recon Re;Birth's story line especially the true ending if you haven't seen it. Other than that, I could see it working with Histore being the narrator of the whole thing. Or maybe Morgan Freeman?

Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2

I actually had as a personal head canon that in the past, the CPU's looked like Period Anime characters. So for example, during the NES or Master System era, Blanc looked like someone out of say, classic Gundam or Dirty Pair. I could see the same thing applying to the past CP Us.

I would like to have seen a Neo Geo/SNK CPU in Victory or what have you. I have one as part of my fic.

Also, there's a CPU representing Saturn in Neptunia V2. Uranus Uzume. She's an inverse Neptune, dead serious in person, complete air head in CPU form.

Wait... if the Dreamcast is the 'Uranus' to the late and mostly unlamented Saturn and the wonderful and bouncy Neptune... And she's represented by... Wow. Talk about Getting Crap Past the Radar. We HAVE seen Uranus! It's the spiral-thingy! It represents... THAT!

I'm already going for AU since the CPU represent companies more than they represent the actual consoles.

Anyway, since I'm already going AU, I can get away with it. With a bit of luck, I can get away with some fudging.

Incidentally, since Re;Birth 1 is on Steam, I might actually get that one. I don't got no Vita, but I don't need that if I can just play it on mah PC.
