I don't know if there's a thread for this, but I searched till the 8th page and didn't find anything, so I guess it's safe. So yeah.

I'm so hyped for this, since it was announced for the Wii. Now, it's going to be released for Wii U and the 3DS (and the Wii U version will come with the original Wii version attached, yay!) in September on the US. I still can't believe it escaped Development Hell.

Also, new gameplay video.

No regret shall pass over the threshold!

This looks like a cool game. Definitely interested. I don't have a Wii U yet, but once I do, I'll have to give it a try.

[up] Also coming to 3DS, if that's a more convenient option for you.

I have a 3DS, so yes, it is. Just as long as it's the same game and not a chopped-up lite version.

From what I've heard, the 3DS version and Wii U version are identical, but the Wii version plays differently.

I just found out about this by accident thanks to Amazon recommending it for me. It looks neat!

Don't know if there's a newer thread, but the game is out now.

It's not reviewing too great, concerning the Wii U and 3DS versions.

Worth noting however that developer Prope had nothing to do with the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game (which are vastly different in terms of controls and gameplay), those were designed by Kadokawa Games themselves. The Wii U version is also a port of the 3DS version, which started as a port of the Wii game but was retooled into something different. Naka even tweeted to play the Wii version of the game in particular.

The original Wii version was released, but only with first-print run copies of the Wii U game. Many who have gotten both the Wii and Wii U game say the Wii version is much superior to the Wii U/3DS game. That said, it doesn't seem that most of the press is aware of this, especially since review copies/codes only come with the Wii U game.

I'm planning on getting the Wii U version at some point - namely, when I actually have a Wii U. I've had my eye on the game for a while, and it looks interesting.

Anyone here playing it? What are your first impressions?

Well, I haven't exactly played the Wii U version, due to downloading the Wii version through a torrent (Is it against the rules to say that?), but I for one am having a ton of fun with the Wii game, and I have seen comparisons of the Wii and Wii U versions. I have been pretty much adding to the game's pages as I go along, though I'm not exactly skilled at detecting the use of tropes in a work (For example, I've noticed that Rodea has a few elements of Deadpan Snarker with some snarky comments, though I hesitate to add him as an example. Also, Rodea so far seems like a Defector from Decadence, due to being a machine of the Naga Empire, but insisting on saving Garuda, but I haven't seen the entire plot yet to add him as an example for that too.)

EDIT: Here's a good comparison video of the Wii and Wii U versions. I never thought I'd see the day when the last-gen counterpart of a game looks better than the next-gen version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZd5CGZJRdU

I may get it, but my backlog is pretty big. Haven't even picked up Yoshi's Wooly World yet.

I have a message from another time...
