@Meanken: Should we assume Horai's waiting for the Imperials at Haneda Airport?

Oh, yes. Sorry. Feel free to set the scene and I'll have the Imps arrive.

Hokay, sorry for the delay. Hopefully my next post should be up tonight.

Oh, they wouldn't have blown it up, they don't know it has shields or that it's only susceptible to attacks made on thermal exhaust ports (and one-shotting stuff isn't exactly what orks are best at). Given that the guns are made for space combat, low orbit probably counts as just out of minimum range anyway.

I'll get to dealing with invasion proper and such in a bit., just going to take a short break. Just getting that out for now in order to get the last three assassins checked. I guess some quick question before answering some posts, can Saika actually stab in the common room? I'm cool with Naomi meeting Saika, just wondering if we got to move out first. Also is Oni still with us? Should I go ahead and move Grant and Alucard ahead with out waiting for Reisen?

Anyway, the last three assassins in the UAA are...

Dr letz Shake - A towering robotic earthquake death machine. He seems to be 30, 40, 50 feet? To give an idea, in that horn on his right side is actually Henry. Personally I would like him big, and for a very simple reason actually. His eyes are only half way up his body. At 20 feet, he would be staring at the crotches of autobots. That and, you know how it is with size and phallic shaped death machines... Admittedly I don't think size effects his effectiveness all that much, so whatever size works.

His primary ability is to create large AOE earth quakes which he accomplishes by slamming his four piston like appendages on to the ground. It actually effects his entire arena in game, which is a good size, probably something like a couple hundred feet in radius or diameter.

Despite supposedly creating an earth quake, the result is actually launching the ground around himself suddenly several dozen feet into the air. In game it is the single most damaging ability out side the insta kills, but I am not sure how to actually classify the damage. I guess its something like being uppercutted from the earth? You do go from ground level to 60 feet up in the fraction of a second. Maybe its like suddenly feeling you just hit the pavement you were standing on at terminal velocity. I dunno, earth quakes attacks are a bit weird to work with. Usually high number damage in games but logically doesn't seem like they would make good anti personnel weapons. Upgraded from the last game, Letz shake only requires a 3 second charge up before launching the attack

Along with the earth quake, Letz shake has two beam eyes appropriate for his size which he can pan. He can also use his pistons to merely crush his enemies. He hovers above the ground, and has decent speed for something of his size. Also built like a tank.

On the other hand of things, Dr letz shake is actually one of the easier bosses. Like many of the bosses that seem like they should be op, he probably fits more in an awesome but impractical territory. For starters, he needs to be in the epicenter of his blast radius. While a couple hundred feet gives a nice AOE, it is also pales when compared to the effective range of most modern military weapons. There is also the critical flaw of there being holes in his earth quake. A few small safe zones a person can stand in complete safety from the ensuing chaos, making an efficient warrior going one on one with him actually a pretty one sided fight since Dr letz shake will have a difficult time actually hitting the guy. However going at him with large numbers or big machines is still probably a bad idea. While charging his earth quake, he is also both immobile and unable to attack. And as short as 3 seconds are, for many of the over the top warriors in Battleworld, that is a huge opening.

Ryuji - Ryuji is a bosozoku warrior. He uses beam Nagamaki, which seems to have a three foot blade and three foot handle according to design material. In game it seems bigger, with blade to handle ration being something like 4:3, but who's counting. Besides, you hardly ever see a nagamaki in a game. He is a skilled swordsmen who seems to have unlocked the power of ki assist in his combat prowess. Maybe be worth noting that after after gathering ki for a bit, he has a very quick long range charge, giving him quite a bit of effective melee range. He is also a skilled biker.

His most memorable move is his ability to summon forth an energy dragon from his sword. Its big, but not too big. Probably something like a 1 meter by 12 meter Chinese dragon. What does make it dangerous is that its is basically a sentient large dragon made from the same heated plasma of the beam katana. Not only does that give it incredible offensive ability, basically being a giant flexible light saber blade, but also incredibly hard to kill, since it's like trying to destroy a light saber blade. On the other hand, the thing is pretty slow, and most characters can easily out run and out maneuver the thing. Ryuji also has to take a few seconds of charging ki to summon him and is fatigued for a few seconds after.

Finally, the last UAA assassin is none other then yandere fangirl, Kimmy Howell. A beam katana user who uses a dual bladed beam katana a la Darth Maul. Despite her appearances, she is quite adept with the thing and can more then hold her own in a melee. However, while other assassins have lot of mobility, leaping in and out of combat or sprinting incredibly fast, Kimmy has only the world's girliest run, making her something of a Glacier Waif. She is also something of a natural savant, claiming she can "master in one day techniques that would take others years to do". All that really means for this game is that she may be a genius dits, and that she is working off theory and natural ability rather then refined experience. She may still be a fast learner, but nothing like she claims (On the other hand, a day is an incredibly long time on Battleworld...). Her weapon also allows her to shot a spread of explosive bubbles. It also plays music.

How do you kill that which has no life?

[up][up] I don't think she can, but Anri was trying to get around that by just having Naomi grab the hilt. That way, she's interfacing with Saika the same way that Anri does, which is both more invasive (constant contact, full on chattering) and less (no straight-up mind control, just a direct line to the sword's personality and unquenchable desires).

And yes, your Santa Destroy is pretty BA. tongue

@Geek: My post is almost finished, and I'm awfully torn about my response to Team Juniper. On one hand, it throws off the entire mood I've been building for Amber. On the other hand, it's honest both from a personal and objective standpoint.

"If anything happens to them..." is NOT what you want to hear from mercs! Plus Amber knows what it means to lose everything better than any of my characters, since she's literally watched and rewatched Hei, Pai, and all her other friends die hundreds of times over. This is one of the moments where I realize how gritty Darker Than Black can seem, since every frickin' member of The Evening Primrose (Amber's group) dies except for Amagiri. Losing a buddy or two means almost nothing to her.

Side note to Mega: From what my sister's told me, Amber and Homura have a lot in common. We seriously need a "traumatized time-traveling girls" conversation at some point! [lol]

Before anyone says deja-vu, I'd like to personally apologize to Theodore and anyone involved with Genosha for the following announcement: I am dropping out of Battleworld... again.

Not to pull a Captain Hindsight, but it seems clear to me now I shouldn't have picked Genosha back up. My interest in it has only gone down since then and I feel like each and every post is a bigger and bigger slog. And now that has spread to Haters and Peepers, which were the initial reason I came back.

I'm going to hand them back to Meanken and not make a mess out of it anymore. Theodore, if this leaving has particularly pissed you off, I give you full permission to take control of Genosha and do whatever you want with it.

I'll be on the forums, trying out some different things and on the other R Ps I'm in. Sorry again aaand... see you guys around, I guess.

Right, just checking. Don't mean to guilt you or anything, just making sure I know what posts to wait for. We can figure something out for Toriel, Snowdin guard and the rest at a later date. Gotta keep this ol' plot train a-runnin'.

Considering that one of their guns has no trigger because, to quote the description, "Why would youz want a trigger? Youz plannin' ta spend time not-shootin?", the "if" will not be a problem.

Yup, I just gave Vida access to the Underground's SAVE points. I'm thinking of doing this for any named human that comes down there. My reasoning is, if they're important enough for names, they're probably important enough to be considered a 'player character', giving them enough determination to come back from the brink of death. Your average NPC grunts, on the other hand, will not.
