NPD: The Switch and Mario Odyssey were the best selling console and game of October in the US.

Odyssey was the top selling retail SKU. Probably not the top October game. Switch beating SNES is a good sign though.

Switch version graphics compared to other consoles.

Not as good as PS4 obviously, but it doesn't look too far behind.

Considering that SMO went through two million units in just a few days, I can believe it's the top seller.

The Switch is just selling ridiclously well.

Funny what a strong marketing push, strong launch and a steady release schedule can accomplish.

Nah, first we got to get through the Switch 2. Then we can get good ideas that sell a ton.

People wold be saying the same thing about the Switch's portable gimmick if the Switch wasn't a hit, or the Wii's motion controls.

You're a gimmick unless you're successful, I guess.

People keep using "gimmick" in ways that don't mean what they think it means.

"Gimmick" isn't supposed to be and inherently bad word. But somehow it is treated as such.

Which is probably due to many games before using gimmicks badly, thus any form of a gimmick gets scorn.

,I think the main reason that it's used that way is because it tends to get used primarily in the context of a Dancing Bear, where a work's gimmick is the only notable thing about it (or maybe the only element about it that gets any press). There's a difference between creating a work or product that happens to have a gimmick attached to it, and creating a work or product where the gimmick is the only worthwhile thing about it or is used in a fashion that actually makes the product worse.

Looks like there are Dark Blue JoyCons available only at the Nintendo HQ employee store at the moment.

Ohh, I like them.

It's kind of ambiguous to be honest. They could be new, or the lighting in the store is causing the neon blues on the packaging to look darker than they are. Then again, the variance in colour between the blue one on the neon packaging and the blue ones we see is pretty big, and I don't know if that can just be put down to lighting conditions. Hard to tell.

Definetely a darker colour. The "neon" bluecons are more of a pastel or cyan anyway.

I wouldn't mind nabbing a set of these dark blues or them old blues, either works for me.

Console exclusive? It's PS4/XB1/Switch. In Japan PS4 version in March, with Switch in the summer.

Yes, console exclusive, or put another way, exclusive to consoles. Or in other words, the "PC Master Race" is out of luck... at least for now.

"Console Exclusive" is used to refer to games that are exclusive to a specific console but also has a PC release, which is why you got a confused response.

Confirmed 2018 for PS4/XBO/NSW. Japan gets it in March for just PS4/NSW.

Takes place at the same time as the original game. Cast of the original are playable via DLC.
