I am kinda curious as to why the AO rating is a death sentence, but I think it's due to console makers and retailers wanting to keep a cleaner image.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Frankly, AO is a redundancy. M is perfectly capable of conveying a gritty, sexy, possibly offensive portrayal. Bringing it to AO is like pouring a glass of water into the Pacific Ocean.
@powerpuffbats
Retailers refuse to carry adult rated content. If you can't get your game sold through a store, you basically won't make money.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I agree. If a Mature Rating already indicates that a game is only fit for Over-18s, why would you need to have 'Adults Only'? 18 is adult. It's an odd redundancy.
@Geist regarding screen scratches: Yeah, I'm investing in some screen protectors for the Switch. Not getting it scuffed.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectM is 17+ just like R rated movies.
AO is 18+ which is equivalent to NC-17 or possibly X rated.
R rating in films don't mean you have to be 17 or older to watch the movie; it means if you're under 17 you need to be accompanied by someone that is 17.
It is the same with M rating in games you can play them if you're under 17 but you need permission from a parent or be accompanied by someone that is 17.
AO is like NC-17 or X rated movies you can't watch it or play it unless you're 18.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThat is moot when the movie comes onto DVD unless you're buying it.
It doesn't matter if it's already owned (like when I first watched the South Park movie) or if it's rented (like when I first watched the Terminator series).
EDIT: Okay, it only doesn't matter if the film is R rated. Parents wouldn't let their kids watch an X rated film under any circumstance.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! You gotta have a distinction between M and AO (or equivalent), otherwise stuff like outright porn would fall under M, and then you'd have the problem of that entire rating group taking the fall as "porn rating".

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Funny thing is that's almost exactly why the NC-17 movie rating exists.
Originally the X rating was meant as the "step above R" rating, but it almost immediately became synonymous with porn (Midnight Cowboy is basically the only X-rated movie that managed to avoid the stigma), so they created the NC-17 rating to be a "more explicit than R, but still not straight up porno" rating. Thing is, most theaters refuse to run NC-17 stuff anyway.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Lotsa happenings as we close in.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI guess that Mario + Rabbid RPG rumor was true after all.
What if the Rabbids RPG is actually the next Mario And Luigi game? That'd certainly be an interesting way to take the Mario And Luigi series.
It wouldn't be a true Mario & Luigi game in that sense, especially since Paper Jam had elements from Paper Mario.
There is a 0% chance Alphadream is developing it, so no.
Didn't the leaker say it's going to be a strategy RPG?
What is a strategy RPG? Like fire emblem?
I remember it being a Turned Based RPG. Maybe I'm wrong and it is a Strategy RPG...
Well, I don't think he was the original source of the rumor, but Liam Robertson of Unseen64 has compared the game to both Fire Emblem and X-Com.
Stardew Valley Wii U has been cancelled for a Switch release.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."This guy in the comments is hilarious.

- Other Guy: *picture of the Switch being used in a car*
- 1st Guy: "That does not mean its a portable. It means you can take it with you. Like the Wii U. [snip] I'd suggest you do your research before you make blind assumptions like this. "

Well in all technicality I can take a PS 4 with me anywhere I wanted.
But I wouldn't be able to play it.
Plus I'd need a backpack. Least the Switch would only need a man purse.
And I could also fucking play it without a TV and power outlet.
Can the Switch fit in your pocket? It looked like it might fit in the trailer, but maybe not.
I doubt it. It's like a slightly shorter Wii U gamepad.
Given how Ao is already a a death sentence if your game gets rated that and you don't change anything(the console ban, retailers won't even carry the game), I doubt a U would be of much use outside of downloads for PC.
