"Aurion, let's get out of here," Wayne jerked his head towards the forest, as he and his partner had gone back to land ahead of the bickering pair. "That moron is about to get himself killed, and I am not joining him."

Meanwhile the figure's smirk smoothed itself into a neutral glare as Kraken walked up ro face it as Vasilos and Nonie also stood near to challenge it. As if bending space to meet him, the creature closed the space between them in a step and backhanded him into the pair, immediately afterwards extending his arm to Vladimir and Gareth as if to apologize for the interruption, silently asking for their reply.

As for the Mistrali pair and Reymond's partner, they would find themselves surrounded by Beowolves that had swum to the Grave of the King, panting and reeking of the unwashed recesses of nature.

"Tempestas, come on!" the Eisenmann intiate urged again at the dark figure's show of force. Something felt wrong just being near the thing, and he did not want to wait and see what exactly was off with its presence.

Grim, where are you?

Against a Grimm's sudden strike Vasilos did not exactly have much in the way of reaction time, and he was hit by Kraken. Vasilos flew backwards, the Phoenix flying out of his hands and extinguishing, stabbing into the ground merely a foot from where he once stood. There was a cracking noise as he landed on his dust cannon, and flopped onto his front.

He forced himself to look up but got up slowly, not understanding what had just happened or why it was being so cordial.

Grave of the King

Addressing Ovid, Gerhart murmured "We should leave now. We have achieved our objective, there is nothing more for us here"

Kraken is knocked unconscious by the blow and is now laying on the ground. His weapon is stabbed into the ground near him.

Ovid nodded at hearing Gerhart's statement. "I agree. Though it would be easier if we had the rest of them working with us but overall they seem far too distracted by his prostrating." The fighter idly flicked and flourished his blade as he scanned the hordes for a weak point.

"This may be a tad difficult. We'll have to hit them hard to make a gap and then move fast to get back to the school and warn the staff. Can you still run in that armor?"

With his shield now strapped to his left arm and Macht clenched tight in the other, Gerhart muttered "Run? Not exactly. I can keep up a decent pace should it be needed, however."

Gesturing to the line before them with his sword, Gerhart began to devise something resembling a plan "Let me take the lead. My shield and armour should provide for some defense. Am I safe in trusting you to have my back?"

Ovid rolled his neck from side to side, resulting in a series of soft pops. "Sure I can. Just the kind of warm up I need for being chased through a forest by a horde of monsters."

The white-hair focused his eyes with them taking on a red glow, ready to capture any useful moves from the monsters. "In fact, allow me to make the first incision." Ovid was instantly in front of several Beowolves, cutting two down with a single stroke. He looked around at the other monsters. "They were lucky, you guys have to deal with the big guy.

The fighter jumped up and backwards, providing an opening for his new partner.

Nonie was forced against a wall and was temporarily too disoriented to respond.

"Very well then." Said Gerhart as he watched Ovid leap into battle before quickly following suit.

Joining his partner's side in the fray, Gerhart knocked the first few Beowolves in his way aside with a glorious charge before demonstrating why Macht had earned that name. Ever moving forward, Gerhart swung Macht down onto a nearby Beowolf's skull, cleaving it in two before decapitating the next one over. Thrusting his sword through the skull of his next victim, Gerhart took a brief moment to place his boot atop the beast's head and pry his stuck sword from its bony resting place. As he did so, Gerhart called out to Ovid "Shall we push forward, or do you want to kill this damned horde?"

Ovid pulled Revolt from the chest of a beowolf and used the motion to slice upwards across the face of an ursa. "Though I do hunger for the thrill of the fight and would enjoy the massacre, we have to warn Beacon so they can protect themselves and any nearby settlements." He broke the neck of another Grimm. "The school may have started out a fortress but I doubt it is currently prepared for invasion of this scale."

Nodding, Gerhart muttered "Then we have no choice but to warn them." before slashing a nearby Ursa's face open with Macht.

Quickly gesturing back to the temple, Gerhart said "However, I insist that we return to aid those we are leaving behind once we deliver our message."

Ovid planted his sword in ground and smashed a beowolf's face open on the pummel. "Agreed, but only if we have the opportunity. Their good fighters, I want all their moves before they die. But we may not be able to come back once we've delivered the message. And they stand better odds than any civilian would."

...Everything seemed like a blur for a few seconds before Robert snapped out of his thoughts. Odd, felt like something wasn't quite right. Although considering the situation in from of him, that worry quickly left his mind when he realized the monstrous Grimm had knocked one of the people nearby away, with another pinned against the wall.

"...Welp, time to beat a hasty retreat, I say. Or at least getting to a better position. Not exactly my call, but having said that...better than dying out here."

A quick flourish and glow of his eyes, a gap...a sort of rift in space appeared behind the pinned raven faunus as she fell through it, before reappearing out of a second portal above him, catching the girl as she fell before gently putting her down to the side.

He wasn't quite sure what her name was, everything still seemed sort of a bit of a blur. Others didn't look like they were in much better shape, so...

"You guys need a hand getting up, eh? Or would you rather me give you all some time to skedaddle outta here?"

Bashing a nearby Beowolf away with his shield, Gerhart nodded "So be it. To the school."

With that, Gerhart began charging off towards the School as fast as his armoured legs would carry him.

Pair OG

As if sensing their intent, the Grimm made way for a small group King Taijitu and Death Stalkers, which were supported by a herd of Boarbatusks that were followed up by the packs of Beowolves and roving Ursa anyway. Nothing would stop their master from giving his offer, and these two had proved to be an annoyance that needed to be dealt with.

"Let us go, Wayne.", Tempestas said as he went with Wayne. Getting back to Beacon alive was his primary concern.

"Hmm." Rey eyed Kraken, unconscious and unarmed. Surrounded by Beowolves. With the rest of her group making a retreat. "Hmm hmm..." How convenient. She wondered what good deed she'd done to deserve such a blessing.

But with... whatever this crow-looking bastard was doing, it was attracting Grimm. She wouldn't make it past more than just melee units with her gear. Or she could take her chances. She had the relic.

Screw it. Rey scowled at the monster, snapped the blades onto The Spinner, and charged for her escape, holding The Spinner in front of her like a hedge trimmer as she cut through the initial line of Beowolves, heading back to Wayne and Tempestas.

With the rest of her team

A stream of pure aura cut through a swathe of Grimm, destroying them rather thoroughly. The source had been Sanfar and her blade, Tenebrae which had seemingly expanded outwards, with blue glowing veins running along it. "That should help." She said to her teammates calmly as she turned to them. "I can clear a path. Can you stand and run with me?" She asked, her helmet distorting her deep voice.

Ahyan put his arms up with a sense of purpose as the symbol of Vacuo flew towards him in a graceful arc, but that feeling was painfully short lived. When Bao snatched it from his grasp, he let his arms fall to his sides, rather dejected.

However, that sadness turned into an out of place grin as the dark menacing figure appeared. Now thiswas a villain. It certainly looked like one of those "pure evil" types too, not like those "misunderstood" types that seemed to be all the rage in literature nowadays.

However, as much as he hated to admit it, now was not the time to be planning story arcs about this guy.. er.. Grimm. His fellow countrymen were in danger, and he would help them as a hero would.

And, even if begrudgingly, he would aid those of other territories as well.

Ahyan pushed some of his aura into his blade, causing it to visibly mist up its surface from the cold.his first priority was to kill the Grimm around him. His second..

"Is there anyone in need of aid?" Ahyan cried out at the top of his lungs. He hoped it'd be someone normal.

He still didn't like to admit it, but he found fauni to be incredibly unnatural. He'd just rather not associate himself.

This... This was not good.

Screeching to a halt as more and more Grimm began to pour out of the woodwork, Gerhart began to slowly back away from the oncoming horde. Rejoining Ovid, Gerhart quietly said "I am aware you wish to deliver news of this situation, but I believe we would be better off standing our ground here and thinning the herd a bit before we get moving"

Ovid looked back at the encroaching horde which had just become twice as deadly to him and his partner. "It does complicated things, we won't be able to take many of these beasts, no matter how skilled we are, these ones are deadlier than the others and just as numerous."

Though no one would be able to see it behind his greathelm, Gerhart grimaced. Ovid was right, there was little chance the two of them, no matter how skilled they were, could take on a horde of this magnitude.

"If we pull back to there" Suggested Gerhart, pointing Macht towards the temple they had so recently left "We can regroup with the other pairs and potentially hold a much more defensible position against all of these. Of course, that could be suicide if this horde keeps growing. I fear our best bet may be gathering our fellows and retreating to a better position with larger numbers."

Team United, Yep.

Glancing over at the newcomer with a helmet, Robert casually twirled his dagger, nodding. "I reckon I'm in good enough shape to run. Ain't sure I can say the same about the other girls and guys, but I can carry 'em." He replied, picking up the dazed Raven faunus.

"Ri-ti-o. Ready to go."

OG

Ovid growled in the back of his throat. "Dammit, we can't fall back to the temple! It's the whole reason he sent these things after us, we're doing something that doesn't play into his plan. Wants to herd us and crush us before moving on. We need to get to the school! Get moving, I can catch up with you. I'll hold them off for a few minutes and then I'll find you." The red-clad fighter rushed forward and began dancing back and forth along the front of the encroaching horde, moving like a whirlwind. He killed where he could and wounded where he couldn't.

"I cannot leave these people here to die!" roared Gerhart, raising his voice above its usual subdued tone for the first time in many years. Gerhart was also, for the first time in many years, was absolutely enraged. Without thinking much, Gerhart unleashed his frustrations by driving an steel encased boot through the skull of a nearby Beowolf.

Swinging wildly at any beast that dared to get within swinging distance, Gerhart began to calm down. It took a moment to sink in, but finally Gerhart began to realize that if he and Ovid just managed to make it back to the school, there would be some small chance of saving the lives of those around him. Raising his shield in front of him, Gerhart begrudgingly began charging after Ovid.
