The current isn't very good but I'm not so sure about the suggestion.

Don't like the suggestion at all. Don't think it would lose anything by losing the visuals. I rather think anything I'd imagine while just reading that would be better than what's actually depicted.

My initial feeling about this trope is that it's impossible to adequately illustrate visually.
Our choices are probably going to be limited to one of two: Either leave it without an image or use a sub-optimal image as it currently appears to be doing.

Current is extremely weak but the 1.1 suggestion is not better.

Current's weak, but we've got people in period clothing in a bed. That's... something.

Hearing nothing for a caption, let's lock up.
So, the trope is about a young and innocent maiden getting an unspecified disease for the sake of plot; whereas the image is of two lovers in an embrace. Frankly that doesn't show anything about the trope, so it should be pulled.
