Or, at least, I will once I decide between the dozens of ideas I currently have @-@

Is there any niche or character type the story needs ATM?

Perhaps some kind of virtual entity? We mostly got cyborgs and supernatural individuals, with powered armor users filling the rest. I was thinking of making an NPC that'll travel through ARMMORPGs to attack people, so I would suggest some kind of character that can interact with/through something that normally can't be interacted with as they do. Mayhaps you could make the character an explicitly artificial entity? I don't think we actually have any characters that are artificial.

We could probably use more magic oriented characters, tbh. Right now, everyone's sort of piled up on Silicon Street, so if we could spread out and actually make use of the various elements of the setting, that'd be ideal.

[up][up] One of my ideas is to bring back Vigil, my orphaned AI from City of Weirdos, which would fit that perfectly...

[up] But I have been leaning more towards a magic-based character, especially after hearing this.

Well, I suppose what I think we need is more location based than skillset based... IMO, I also think we need a few more villainous types, since we're mostly loaded up on heroic types currently.

Well, I suppose you could make some kind of magitech lightning ghost thing. So that way its magic, artificial, and can operate like an AI. Suppose you could throw in some puppeteer with that set up as well, so that a villainous version of that concept can wreck havoc anywhere.

  • Name: Flay Williams/Psyche Angel
  • Gender: Female
  • Species:Former human, now Human/Psychist hybrid (Psychists are are an ancient race of aliens that were said to be masters of the powers of the mind)
  • Appearance: Flay is six feet tall, with dark skin and a somewhat muscular build. She has red eyes, her left one lacking a pupil. She has long black hair. Flay's usual outfit tends to be just a standard tee shirt and jeans. After transforming into Psyche Angel she wears blue lensed ballistic glasses on her face, a sleeveless white button up dress shirt with a blue tie, blue fingerless elbow length gloves, black leather pants, and heeled combat boots. Additionally her hair shortens and becomes spiked white hair after her transformation.
  • Personality: Flay has a fairly abrasive personality, not to say she can't be nice, just that most of the time she doesn't want to be. She likes drinking and clubbing on her days off from work as a office worker. Having been fighting as a Star for nearing 15 years, starting at age 8, she feels that she's above some of the newer Stars in town, and isn't afraid to show it. Her driving force as Psyche Angel is her belief that the Stars of the past few years are getting out of hand, and sees herself in a position to pass judgement on the Stars who disrupt the city, good or evil.
  • Ward: Originally from Silicon Street, she moved to Nova for ease of travel to other wards and to get away from unsavory types trying to peek at her DNA.
  • Goal: To keep the various Stars in check and ensure that stability is kept.
  • Bonds
    • Judgement: To Psyche Angel, good and evil are just words. The actions of the Stars themselves are far more important. From the heroes of justice who level entire city blocks to defeat a foe to the villainous rival who ensures that he meets his foe in single combat away from others, she believes actions speak louder than ideals, and that no Star is exempt, not even her.
    • Children: Flay loves kids, knowing they are the true future of the city, and often volunteers at preschools and orphanages.
    • Nightlife: Sometimes her job stresses her out, impacting her Judgement. Other times her activities as Psyche Angel leads to distractions with her regular life. In her mind, the solution to both these is to just go out and have fun when she needs to.
  • Enemies
    • Disruptive Stars: As noted, she doesn't care for good and evil. What matters to her is how Stars act and behave, and if they start causing problems for the people around them, then they have her to deal with.
    • Silicon Street: She doesn't mach care for her old home. Considering her status as supposedly the last of an alien race, and thus ripe for research, she considers it justified.
    • Her younger days: "No, I don't know who 'Pretty Judgement Angel, Blue Psyche' is. I also don't look like her, though she probably grew up to be as awesome as me. Say, think you can look at this glowing light on my hand for a moment?"
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Transformation: While normally pretty strong due to being pretty buff, she can't actually use any of her Psyche Angel abilities unless clears her mind and she communicates to her helper/familiar Bee-Fly the words "Psycho Eye, On!", allowing her to transform into Psyche Angel in a literal flash.
    • Manipulation of Psycho Energy: Her transformed state allows her to use the psycho energy (A mysterious energy that appears to be given off by the brain into the air around it through everyday thoughts and use) around her, using it to enhance her own strength to greater levels and for flight, plus for a few unique abilities.
      • Psyche Darts: Small balls of visable blue psycho energy, fired out of her hand that hit with concussive force.
      • Psyche Crush: Fills the area around her with psycho energy and activates it, increasing gravity around her by a hundred times for a split second in a wave of blue light.
      • Psyche Beam: A thin blue beam fired from her fingers, able to cut through non organic matter and damage organic matter.
      • Ultima Psycho Burst: Her most dangerous ability, rarely used and only as a last resort. By merging Bee-Fly into her vacant eye, she can focus incredibly large amounts of psycho energy infront of her face, and fire it out in a large, devastating beam.
  • Assets: An apartment of decent size, a tv and computer in case Flay doesn't feel like going out, and a small car.
    • Bee-Fly: Bee-Fly is both her best friend and greatest ally. Originally her left pupil, Bee-Fly is a palm sized floating black orb that is always near Flay at all times, either hidden on her person or floating around her. It acts as her mini info satellite in battle and as the key to her most powerful weapon. It speaks with a squeaky computerlike voice and likes to tease Flay and those around it.
  • Bio: Flay and her parents often moved around a lot in her childhood due always seeming to get their house or workplace blown up in fights between Stars. Whenever it was a hero coming out ahead and winning the other people's love, or villains who braged about their victory to all around, it tended to end with little Flay in another moving van to another house. That all changed when a meteor landed in the back yard of her 8th house (thankfully not damaging the house). Going out to investigate, he touched it only to have it respond by shooting out a needle into her palm, injecting her with Psychist DNA, causing her left pupil to dissappear and turn into Bee-Fly, and giving her the gift of psycho energy use. With these powers, she decided to fight against Stars who were careless in their fights with others. Fast forward 15 years, and now as a adult Flay still fights and judges Stars who disrupts people around the city, though now she has gotten somewhat more ruthless in her pursuits, but still taking care to avoid disrupting the city around her.

Name: Rebecca Sharpe

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Appearance: Dressed like her name.

Personality: A little bit cynical but still quietly passionate and personable. She likes to put on a facade of the cool seen-it-all detective, but truth be told things sometimes get to her a little more than she'd like, and her temper flares. She has a keen sense of justice and a dogged stubborn streak - she doesn't like letting go of a case once it's started.

Ward: Based in the Hollow, but she gets around most of the other wards too.

Goals: To balance the city's ledger towards fair and right, a little bit at a time. Being able to afford her rent would also be a nice secondary achievement.

Bonds:

  • Justice: Not the kind of justice that superheroes shout about while wrestling their arch-nemeses. Rather, the kind you find nodding to a mother as you bring her back her son, or the kind you hope a killer's victims feel when you toss him in a cell.
  • Her smokes: No, they're not healthy. Yes, she's trying to quit. No, it's not really working.
  • Smooth jazz: Who doesn't like it?
  • A good book: Although she rarely gets time to read these days.

Enemies:

  • Corporate shills: Can't stand'em.
  • Bent cops, corrupt officials: She's seen her share of corruption, but the betrayal never gets easier to take.
  • Cruelty: Nothing else cracks her hardened-veteran routine quite like this.

Powers and Abilities:

  • Necromancy: Rebecca is a necromancer of some skill, mostly focused towards forensic necromancy. She can summon the spirits of the dead, and detect how a body died with a quick spell. Technically she could raise a few minions, but she finds that's a bit inappropriate most of the time.
  • Swordsmanship: On her old boss' insistence she learned the way of the sword from an ex-street-samurai.
  • A detective's eye: She has a knack for spotting lies and an excellent eye for detail.

Assets:

  • Sharpe and Co, PI: A modest private investigation firm, run out of an office in the Hollow. Yeah, maybe she was a bit optimistic when she named it.
  • Enchanted blades: She carries two magical weapons. One is a wakizashi spelled to disrupt and banish ghosts, spirits and undead, the other is a katana that carries an electric charge.
  • She knows a guy: Rebecca has a network of contacts and favours across the city. If she doesn't know how to do something, chances are good she knows someone who does.

Bio:

  • Born in the Hollow but raised in Silicone City, Bec's story started out when she was a rookie detective, her patch straddling the Silicone-Orie border. She'd always had knack for magic, but when, during a somewhat gruesome murder, she discovered her propensity for necromancy she decided to put her newly found skill to a good use.
  • She started teaching herself some basic rituals and used them to analyse the crime scene in ways she'd never been able to do before. She'd caught the scent, as her old boss used to say, and she wasn't going to let this one go. Not when the evidence of a big corporate cover-up started to surface. Not even when word started to trickle down that anyone who valued their jobs should just brush this case under a rug. Eventually, she came in one morning to find all her case files gone - "given to another department", they said. Everyone knew that someone, somewhere had leaned on the force's upper ranks to bury the case, and that she'd never hear a peep about it again.
  • After resigning in disgust (only narrowly avoiding being fired, actually) she set up shop in the Hollow, honed her necromantic skills and offered her services as a private investigator and contract forensic analyst.

I also have an idea for a villain character, but I'm not sure how well she'll work out just yet.

The majority of Stars all fight/cause evil in someway, with most of them being magic users/supernatural or cyborgs. There's also a pretty heavy amount of Silicon Street Stars. So perhaps make a character for an unused Ward? If you decide to make a villain, I would suggest a straight up robot or generally any kind of artificial entity made through science and/or magic.

Not really, robots likely can go to any Ward and you simply need the technology to make a robot. Silicon Street, in and of itself, isn't required to make robots. Plus, if you want to avoid the technological aspect, then have them either be a metal golem or one constructed following the general mold for robotics (aka, applying robotic science to purely magical golem creation). You could also go with a magitech robot, and there's so many ways one can make an interesting robot concept for the Wards. For example, robot angels or mechanical entities powered from souls (ooh, a magitech sphere that uses trapped souls to project a mallable spirit body).

-Cracks knuckles- Okay then!

  • Name: Aur Airaidetre (If anyone wonders how that's pronounced, it's ehr-uh-detra.) Aka The Blue Dog in some circles.
  • Gender: Male
  • Species: His species has no name, though many people call them demons to make things simpler.
  • Appearance: Stands at about 5'11". Is of slightly muscular build. He's got amber gold-ish eyes, blue hair and vaguely dog like ears, and horns that are mostly ivory with bits that are the same color as his eyes. Yeah, he gets a lot of weird looks in the street if he's not disguised. His eyebrows and tail (Oh yeah, he has a tail) are white which leads people to think he dyes his hair, though he doesn't. Has two white tear drop markings pointing outwards on either side of his nose, and a third v shaped one that he covers with his hair. Wears a black t shirt, white pants, boots, and a hooded jacket. It should be noted that he has several copies of the same outfit. When he's working he'll wear a theatrical blue dog mask and a cloak. He can also turn into a blue wolf-dog, hence his nickname.
  • Personality: (Unintentionally) Exudes an air of intimidation which keeps most people away. Those who dare to look past that he'll form close attachments to. He prefers the company of children or teenagers to adults. Comically serious, he's very good at keeping a straight face. When he's working he'll be mostly professional, though if whatever he's doing violates his moral code enough, he'll stop. He has a tendency to snark.
  • Ward: He doesn't live in one particular ward, though the ones he spends the most time in are Tropica and Orie. He travels the wards in the ship equivalent of a minivan. He stays away from Silicon Street as much as possible due to an unmentionable incident involving several million dollars and the biggest swirly man has ever seen.
  • Goals:
    • Carry out his unrequited crush's last request. Also find her, but we'll get to that later.
    • Pay off his debt from buying the previously stated ship equivalent of a minivan. (The guy he bought it from ripped him off by selling it for triple the price it was worth.)
  • Bonds:
    • His previously mentioned crush. Her name was Sylvia. She left him a magitek sword and a scroll with a demon inside it upon her demise.
    • His ship. Damage it, and he'll make you compensate him whether you want to or not.
    • Money. He'll do almost anything for money. Almost.
  • Enemies:
    • Child negligence. He hates people who don't take good care of their children.
    • The 'demon' sealed in the scroll. You see, he used to be human. But the way the scroll works is that in exchange for the user's humanity, they'll gain the powers of the sealed demon. I'll explain more later at some point, but anyway, that entire explanation was pointless. The 'demon' just pisses him off.
    • People who think his last name is fake. It's not.
  • Powers:
    • His tail can shapeshift. Not into other people or sharp/hard objects though. It's actually like a liquid, able to reattach/regenerate any parts that are damaged or cut off.
    • Control over water.
    • Minor regenerative abilities.
    • Heightened senses and super strength.
    • Doesn't have a definite fighting style, but prefers speed and strength over defense. He rarely uses unarmed combat. Has no formal training, besides four years of living in some seedy places.
  • Assets:
    • Minivan equivalent of a ship. Where he keeps most of his possessions.
    • Magitek sword- Powered by either magic or a rechargable battery. Functions like a lightsaber, but it's shape can be altered. It can also be turned into a gun, though if it's being powered by the battery it requires actual bullets rather than those made of magic.
    • Demon scroll. The demon talks to him sometimes.
  • Bio: Was a very lonely child. Even as a kid, he still had that intimidating air about him. There was only one other kid who'd talk to him and that was Sylvia. He, Sylvia, and a third friend would go on to go adventuring together in middle/high school. Sylvia and the other friend got together and though Aur was happy for them, he felt like a third wheel and he eventually split from them. About a year and a half later Sylvia asked him for help with something and he refused. Two months after that, Aur found the sword, scroll, and a note on his doorstep. All he could read of it said, 'I'm sorry for getting you into this, but I need your help. If this wasn't given in person, then please find me.' The rest was crossed out. In the present (four years later) he works as a freelancer, accepting money to do requests from delivering weird things or solving mysteries to doing things that are kind of illegal. He still hasn't completed Sylvia's request or gotten any clues on her location, but he's working on it.
  • Other: If you want, whether you're a villain or a hero, you can hire my character from starting rates of 150(whatever currency this universe is using)s. The price will go up depending on how hard/illegal the request is. Aur reserves the right to refuse, though it isn't likely unless you're asking for an assassination or a kidnapping.

I'll post a flat out villain later, typing this up was more work than I expected and I need to think for a bit.
