[up]Naw, I think Dewey was a good choice for this. He's the gung-ho high-energy guy. They were going for a Technician vs. Performer deal here, not "hard worker vs lazy cheat".

[up][up] I just meant that to a kid like Beaks, it might look like he and Glomgold are old money. Remember, he's quite young, and in a lot of ways a new class of rich guy, that is not respected by people like Scrooge and Glomgold.

Rockerduck is an actual example of Old Money. Going by the official Duckberg map for the series he is going to show up as well.

[up]This is silly, but a better pun would have been have been to have his name be Rockefeather.

Oh, Glamgold. Your hilarious writing and Keith Ferguson's voice are soothing over the pain of Lord Hater And Other Chumps show getting canceled.

[up]I was getting some Lord Hater vibes from this episode actually. Maybe it was just how both have a love of crazy, overcomplicated schemes and Glomgold's gleeful card carrying villainy.

[up]The boys also seems to have mixed feelings about saving the guy as well.

Dewy: "We got to save Beaks.... Right? I mean, he's the worst, but it's...the right thing to do."

Huey: "Why? I'm sure your biggest favorite friend will just fake his way through it, like everything else."

Although of course they end up helping him, it's interesting how it's Huey who is the one to say that they they shouldn't.

This ep was better than I expected, though that's mainly because I didn't have high hopes for it. For one, Beaks was actually funny, and more appealing than the trailers made him out to be. That coffee thing only lasted for like 15 seconds and then was never mentioned again, which makes me suspicious. They wouldn't include it if they didn't have a reason for it. I mean he's a billionaire now and one that is more relevant to the younger generation, so with enough resources and luck he can be a serious threat to the cast and probably one of this show's baddest villains! At least we know he's easily fooled into traps! :D Oh and his comeuppance at the end was hilarious.

Falcon was AMAZING the moment I saw him. So kickass!

Scrooge again is dealt the short end of the stick by getting stuck in a boring situation that lasts hours, instead of going on an exciting adventure. Spatting jabs at his accountants at a meeting, getting stuck in a huge tourist trap casino, and now holding a staring match with Glomgold and then sitting through his convoluted plan to get rid of Beaks for hours in the form of a sildeshow. Is this going to be a recurring thing??

Huey got a lot of characterization here, something I been wanting to see. He can now go insane, since he's apparently neurotic, if you push him too far! The moral about making up for your lack of wits by being wild instead was very sudden and out of nowhere though.

Lastly, we need to remember that posting on social media is kind of in its infancy and still a bit weird. We shouldn't always depend on it 24/7. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to tweet my opinion on this episode with hashtags and emojis!

Does anyone think Mark Beaks is straight affably evil or faux affably evil? Because I am leaning towards him being the latter now.

[up]Yeah, I can see that. I'm not sure what else they're going to do with him though. I wonder if he will be more associated with Glomgold, since Scrooge literally decided that, as much as he disliked him, he wasn't worth the trouble.

I think he would be Neutral Evil. He and Glomgold don't seem like they would tolerate one another.

[up] I sort of meant more like a rival for Glomgold. Both alsolutely can't stand each other, and Scrooge doesn't really care either way.

Although, it would be interesting if Scrooge started looking into this new guy, and found out about Beaks' underhanded business practices.

Yeah I don't think Scrooge would like how this guy puts on a fake facade of niceness, and then tries to hoodwink people.

megaeliz Since: Mar, 2017
#2618: Oct 21st 2017 at 10:17:44 AM

[up] That would be a cool way to keep him relevant, and would make Scrooge's hatred of him much more personal than a lot of his other rivals. But what would he do about it?

[up]My guess is that Beaks is gonna have some negative Character Development as his Control Freak side from the coffee scene starts coming more to the forefront until he just can't hide it anymore, resulting in him becoming a more fiercesome villain and a straight Corrupt Corporate Executive. Though it's still too early to tell at this point.

Yeah. He's been there the whole time, and yes, I agree that he looks ready to start choking some bitches.

He's also chasing the duck family at the beginning with all the other villains too. We've already seen that Mark is not as calm as he pretends to be (during the coffee incident) but I'm curious as to whether he's going to be a somewhat irksome nuisance who can occasionally cause trouble, or if he's going to cross into full blown villainy at some point.

I really like this show, its nice. smile

Though I'm confused as to how Mark made his fortune. How could he get investments when it was literally nothing? Shouldn't you have something to show off?

Y’know I really like this Mark Beaks character, as he comes off like a Looney Tunes character in his over the top, young millenial buisiness owner behavior. I mean his whole interaction with the copporate sabeuteur that he hired is something I would see happen in a classic Daffy Duck cartoon with his complete obliviousness to the situation and posting his own hostage situation on social media. And that ending when he tried to save his last back up phone from falling off the building . . . just, brilliant. Never have I actually smiled to see/hesr the words YOLO.

I like this guy a lot. This was a good episode.
