Man my fan service standards are impossibly high. I was a lucky son of a gun who had a VHS tape of the Dominion Tank Police OVA and can say with absolute certainty that the Puma Sisters dance alone was more erotic than all the jiggling boobs in modern anime combined. Maken Ki there is like jangling a keychain in front of someone used to listening to an epic orchestra.
-cough- We may have gotten a little off topic.
Bleye knows Sabers.Dimensions Had Ryu having implied sex with Lisa didn't it?
I remember her being in the shower and he was on the bed or something?
Nope. Hayabusa kept to his tuxedo while Lisa was in the shower. What was on her bed was her DOATEC ID card, which Hayabusa took a look at and presumably stole it to infiltrate DOATEC Germany as that was where Kasumi was imprisoned at.

OHHH lol okay.
Hayabusa not making a move on Rachel or Sonia despite them clinging to him in fetish outfits and now not making a move on Lisa despite her taking a shower right next to him makes me wonder if his brutal ninja training included castration TBH.
Bleye knows Sabers.Well, Hayabusa is with Irene + has always been portrayed as being professional with everyone and he's not the most expressive person.
Speaking of Irene/Sonia, They didn't do anything interesting with Irene on Ninja Gaiden or Dimensions so her role is eclipsed by other girls.
EDIT: Missed that Irene and Sonia are the same person soo rewriting.

Macron's notesIt's been stated before in this thread (starting here) that Irene's long overdue as a playable character for this franchise. Good opportunity to remind long time DOA/Ninja Gaiden fans she and Hayabusa are an item (prefrerably going back to mentioning that they're husband and wife).

The first Dead or Alive game turned 27 yesterday.
Whatever state this series is in right now, it truly is something special in its own way.
Current State?
Dead in terms of main line games and surviving on cameos in gacha waifu games like Senran Kagura New Link.
So basically the same state as the other ecchi waifu series Queens Blade.
Though Team Ninja wants to try and revive the series. Hopefully they learned their lesson from 6.
I thought 6 was fine in the small amount of time I had with it.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head. The biggest problem with 6, besides feeling like more of the same, was Team Ninja wiffiling on whether or not they were going to tone down the Panty Fighter aspect. They kept going back and forth on it until they ended up alienating everybody.
I feel like no matter which direction they were going towards regarding the fanservice, they were going to alienate people.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.I don't think that was the biggest problem with the game, but that's otherwise true. Pick a freakin' lane.
Bleye knows Sabers.Six's identity crisis caused the series to die.
Team Ninja without Itagaki wanted to be "taken seriously" like MK, Street Fighter and TEKKEN they wanted to shy away from there tits and ass fanservice roots.
That only pissed off veterans of the franchise who left in droves and the new perspective fans looked at their overpriced costume DLC packs and said fuck that then also left.
Causing the flop. In their attempt to appeal to everyone Team Ninja pleased no one and the director behind 6, Yohei Shimbori, left TECMO after the failure.
They were better off doubling down on the sex appeal as there's a niche market for that now that the majority of games are shying away from the early 2000s "pander to 18-34 horny guy demographic" strategy.

Saying the series is dead is a bit premature since historically there have been loooooooooooonnnnng stretches between entries. There was 7 years between 4 and 5 and then another 7 years between 5 and 6. By that rate we're due for DOA 7 in 2026.

But this time both directors Itagaki and Shimbori are gone with Tecmo pulling all support from the game 1 year in.
So DOA is directionless and in the worst state it's ever been in.
In all honesty, continuing the story beyond DOA 4 was kind of a bad idea in hindsight (save for Xtreme 2 as that was more of a slice of life Breather Episode, fanservice-laden as it was).
While it was cool for Dimensions to retell the entire story as the games spanned three generations of video game consoles (the first game being PSX and Saturn, the second and third games being PS 2 and later on XBOX, and the fourth being XBOX 360), making Victor Donovan NOT the guy killed in the VTOL Hayabusa shot down and that after-credits scene of him wearing the same mask as Genra (which was only given a nod in DOA 5 and not followed up in DOA 6) was not a wise move.

Dead or Alive 4 turned 18 years old yesterday. Anyone else have any fond memories of that game? Mine were playing it with my cousins.

I enjoyed how it averted Gameplay and Story Segregation by making Helena more of the focus by having her icon in the character select screen split the character icons into two and that, when you finish her story mode, you get the credits.
So if you had Dead Or Alive 4 on a select screen, it wouldn't need to leave the age unlisted anymore?
May I ask why Helena is considered Nina Williams' Alternate Company Equivalent?
If anything, that role should be Christie's.
When I first got into both this franchise and Tekken, thinking they would go together for a crossover, I saw Nina and Christie as rivals.
I never even heard of that show until today.
