I have to agree that the current alone is not good. A collage might work, but I can't think of a single image that will do it.

I think a caption like, "One final look," would help a lot. Wouldn't make it completely rely on the caption, and it would still show at least part of the trope (which seems like an important part, as well). It would probably help to see that the office is empty, though, and not just a picture of the door.
I don't think it's pullable without replacement as it is.

I think it's fine as it is now (with the caption). She could look more like she's stepping out, I suppose, but it's not bad. The added caption removes any ambiguity.
Is it perfect? No. But at this point, it's Keep Until Better Image Suggested.

More precisely, just a face and NO caption. I don't see anything suggesting a series' finale here. Probably an acute case of Fan Myopia (the pic was added recently).
I don't think it's an easy trope to illustrate anyway.
