They could rig an adapter? Have Robo's heart run on Edisons tech would just be the thing to annoy him to no end.
Though I just realized that ULTRA and their spanky new reactors may hold some help for Team Robo
"You can reply to this Message!"I like how Robo had to specify that nothing in the design could violate known laws of physics. This is a team with Vikram on it, after all.
I like that this arc seems to be riffing on Pacific Rim; specifically, showing the problems that that movie's situation would entail if it had been the "America Saves the Day" plot that del Toro was avoiding.
Instead, Pacific Rim was very multinational. American hero, sure, but the second protagonist was Japanese; the mentor/chief was British; the supporting cast had two Americans, two Australians, three Chinese, two Russians and a German; and the movie was set mostly in China with two small parts in Alaska and Australia.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! There will always be a next time.
"You can reply to this Message!"Fitting in with the whole cooperation theme. Even foreigners can be useful!
Anybody getting Aldnoah.Zero vibes from the Titan mechas here (or at least the one we're seeing in the most recent update now)?
My first reaction to the new Titans was "realistic AU Evangelion," but that looks closer.
So apparently the Atomic Robo universe has working mechs now. Though they are only useful for fighting Biomega.
They're probably quite useful for other things - Big Science Inc. has been adamant about not pushing its technologies for things other than Biomega defense. As Robo noted, it's a lot more worrying to see these in the hands of an entity like Majestic that has no qualms about using the Titans for other purposes.
Construction maybe. Deep sea construction if they are built properly.
Personally I got more of a Zot E vibe, but that's probably from the tapering legs tiny feet design. All they need now is a huge wedge jutting out of their crotch. On another note, the current arc is getting more and more like Pacific Rim, which is absolutely a good thing.

Aldnoah.Zero mechs vs. Pacific Rim kaijus.
Haven't really seen Aldnoah.Zero yet (waiting for the English dub) but I like the design of the mechs enough to say:
Nice.
On another note, what's the deal with the guy with the grey hair that's in a bun? Is he someone that Robo should punch out as soon as possible?
She appears to be the person in charge of ULTRA/Majestic after Jenkins exploded the guy in charge during Savage Sword.
Yeah, she's the one in charge, at least of the anti-Biomega operations. Should Robo punch her? Ehhh, that's a bit up in the air. Whilst Majestic in general is a self-serving power-hungry organization that absolutely should be dismantled and destroyed, she seems to be more of a doing it because it has to be done type of person.
O_O
The grey haired person is a woman?!
I have to confess, she kinda had an Ambiguous Gender thing going. The bun hairstyle gave me the idea that she was female, but I wasn't 100% sure...
...Still, I don't think I like her attitude very much.

Considering that they're a pseudo/para-military organization, if she was male, she wouldn't even have that bun.
I assumed the bun was because Japanese. Like a topknot? Except... at the bottom? I didn't want to assume one way or the other. And they addressed her as "Sir."
My various fanfics.Every superior officer is addressed as "Sir" (unless they allow you to do otherwise) regardless of gender.
"You can reply to this Message!"Let the cancelling of the apocalypse begin.
On that note, you guys think Brian and Scott (the creators of Atomic Robo) know about the parallels we're making to other giant robot stuff?

Apart from the fact that this is all taking place in the Pacific and the heroes are based out of China, the arc is called "Atomic Robo and the Ring of Fire".
The Pacific Ring of Fire is also know as the Pacific Rim.

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
That "Ring of Fire" part of the title made me go "Wha?", but what you said changed everything.
I gotta say, poor showing thus far from the Titan. It's not really doing much, visibly.
That would be Dynamo Direct Current. Robo uses Alternate Current.
