I did enjoy the second episode more than the first.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. It's interesting, if nothing else. Hope we'll get more development for the girls that are supposed to be the main characters
This is pretty much my type of show. Love it so far. Maccha Green hero of the year.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueI liked the episodes.
Gotta love those flower-shaped explosions of color.
The LARPer kingdom of Comiketma. New Best is a subtle asshole. People who were on the fence might drop after this slow-paced episode.

I really like that Ai is an Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy that apparently has no discernible fighting ability.

I haven't seen ep 3 yet, but I don't really like this show's plot. It's a bit confusing, and it sort of feels like stuff happens without really explaining why.
Well, I think I know where the show is going now
Not super-impressed, but I think I'll follow this
Same!
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Nozomi's rolling with quite a team.
I approve of group photos as they keep rolling on.
Darn it, Thunderoad. What you're about to do is of poor taste.

The hilarity of Ai being what she is despite not having the strength to back it up amuses me.
A needed slowdown, as we get better stock of the setting. Though I can understand those expecting the same manic energy of the first two episode to be disappointed.

Yeah, I think I'm going to be watching this shows mostly for Ai's Wrong Genre Savvy shenanigans.
This show.... confounds me.
Okay, this is obviously way different from the show I was expecting. I assume from now on that these episodes will parody or reference some type of adventure story in some way. The first 2 episodes, we had a Sentai superhero. Now we have mechas and knights and wizards. Maybe the girls will go to these different locations and try to mediate disputes between them all. By why?? I didn't expect political and social themes here. The opening narration goes by way too fast and it's supposed to be the most important moments of exposition!
For that matter, what ARE the significance of those hearts!? They must grant people power, but how?? Where did they come from!? How does a country reform into unofficial provinces after a global war? How can an entire city form into a perpetual festival? What am I missing!? That, and I keep hearing the animation in this show is really good and comparing it to FLCL, but I'm sorry, I think it's HORRIBLE! It's messy, too loose, thick-lined, and erratic. I know most studios can't be like Kyoto Animation or BONES, but really, there's a higher standard here.
Now there are small things about this show I do like. Masami's dad is a hoot to watch, he's such a cool father but loses his cool a lot too and I wish we could've seen more of him. The pastel palette and designs are happy and soothing. The opening song is pretty good and somewhat catchy.
Maybe I'm just not looking at this show the right way. The poster was the motivating reason I tuned in to this obscure title, but man is it hard to follow. If I need to WORK in order to watch this show a "right" way, that's not a good sign. I'm considering dropping it all together to make my life less busy.
I think you're overthinking it.
The explanation for the setting is literally 'stuff happened'. I don't think you're supposed to take it too seriously. As for the animation, I think the stretch and wobble is part of the idea. It's to give it a cartoony Looney Toons vibe, not, say, the gritty brawling of Sword of the Stranger.
What's precedent ever done for us?Here's another thing: what is it with the names!? Best? Rest? ALWAYS Tokyo?? Always Comima??
The strongest member of a clique is The Best, the remaining ones are The Rest. I don't see any problems with this; it's actually just a case of oversimplified naming.
Technically "Best" and "Rest" are just a good translation. The idea is just that there's a champion and everyone else is irrelevant.
Always Comima is literally a description of the place, which is always in the midst of a lawyer-friendly Comiket. They just switched the abbreviation from Comic Market to Comic Market.
I was going to drop this, but ep 3 just barely saved this show from that fate. Really, now it's actually easy to understand.
Specifically, the words used are "mosa" for "Best" and "mob" for "Rest". Mosa, as far as I can tell, is Japanese for "stalwart" or "man of valor". "Mob" in Japanese is apparently a direct loanword from English and means the same thing.
@kyun: Basically, the setting is that for some as-of-yet-unrevealed reason, Japan is now like the Divided States of America, with each city-state protected by a wacky vigilante group. The head of the vigilante group has superpowers from the Pink Rocks which seem to appear for The Chosen Ones. Most people don't seem to know the heartstones give powers though.
Some important woman is trying to get the stones. The woman's daughter rounds up three other girls to find the stones herself, mostly because she's trying to mess with her mom.
Our four girls then travel around Japan having wacky adventures.

Not quite. "Mob" in Japanese usually means "extra" or "background character". That's similar, but there's more emphasis on them not being important.
Episode 4:
Whew, I don't hate your guts anymore, Thunderoad.
Giving bikes a new paint-job to avoid getting noticed by the local authorities. How GTA-esque.
Those Takumi guys sure love creating unnecessary chaos.
Hm, it looks like Chiaya wasn't getting a lot of attention from her mother. And that's why she's rolling with her new friends. But why does her mother need those Cores? ...Unlimited energy source?
Heh, someone was a rock star back in his prime. Won't Nozomi and the others be shocked should they know his identity...
Also, Nozomi personally rejected the notion of becoming a Best.
And they keep rolling on their nationwide road trip. Then they got bolted. The End.
Oddly, the end of this arc explained everything upfront in a way that makes me wanna go back and rewatch Episode 3. For some reason, this show is REALLY hard for me to understand unless a characters says outright what is going on. Maybe it's the combination of the distracting visuals, or having to direction my attention to the subs and what's on-screen at the same time.
But I swear to God, if one of them even LEARNS to play anything that would get them in a rock band, I am dropping the show. Characters randomly being in a rock band is a huge story pet peeve of mine. It's fine in K-On!, or some story where rock music is what the story is about.

I thought Momiyama was some kind of corrupt executive or unscrupulous businessman who'd do anything to get what he wants, but turns out he's a pretty swell dude.
Girls are rolling out. Please wait warmly.
I wonder if Crocodile fell in love with Aoi at first punch. Saw him blushing after the fact.
Masami and Shigyo sure beat each other silly. And Nozomi's got a big heart, if nothing else.
And now, a little jingle:
Now, let's roll!
