Haha - sure . If nman is willing and there is a way to incorporate him into a cameo of some sort then by all means. Maybe he could be the one of the unlucky prisoners who didn't get a chance to escape.
"Having pissed off Luda the Hutt, and a little short on credits, she finds the biggest, meanest-looking guy on the planet and convinces him to solve her problem on the cheap (possibly with a bit of her Con Artistry). Uziel's happy for the challenge, but the Hutt himself escapes his wrath and now there's a bounty on both their heads."
I like that idea. I like it a lot.
"can I have Rakko be the one mercenary you hired for protection that you were talking about."
I dunno, it's looking like it might be Uziel. But I suppose it could be both if them if either/both could be persuaded to work for cheap. Kyla's quite persuasive, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch...
Not entirely dead. That freighter looks like a turtle. Maybe the Zaratan?
Flesh is a design flaw.I think that's the only suggestion so far, so it may just win by default.
And I'm sure there'll be some way to put Gorlash in
Actually Fantasy Liver suggested a few. what is he, chopped Liver?
Flesh is a design flaw. That was a lot of names so at best I could roll a die for his suggestions. Or else, you've got 1 vote for yours and he voted for each of his 1/6th of a time
Amended repost:
- Name: Sia
- Sex: Female
- Age: 20-ish?
- Race: Sephi
- Class/Title: Sith Warrior
- Role on Ship: Bodyguard/Enforcer
- Alignment: Unabashedly Dark Side. Basically the Sith version of Neutral Evil.
- Appearance: Slender, graceful, very elf-like. Gold eyes and dark red hair, usually styled in a set of pigtails. About 5'8" tall, and clearly trained for speed over strength. If she wasn't rocking the dark-leather-sith look all the time, she'd probably be called beautiful instead of some less elegant adjectives. Her lightsabers usually rest at the top of her over-knee boots. She wears a black, almost jedi-style tunic, but in a way that shows the black leather corset covering her chest, cut to still allow full range of movement. Long, over the elbow, leather gloves with metal dueling bracers complement the boots. A black sith robe is usually worn over the apparel. Her face, basically.◊
- Personality: Sia is at first a cheerful and snarky person, and even in battle seems to keep that tendency, never betraying more than a good natured jest at her opponent. This belies the blood lust underneath that upper layers. Sia likes to fight. She likes to kill (challenging opponents best!) and she likes to be better than others at it. She especially considers skill more important than strength, arguing that every brute can be strong but skill is a far more valuable thing to have. She is also something of an attention whore, enjoying being in the center of it and she doesn't make much difference if its because of attraction or fear. Despite these, she *is* Sith, and fully aware of the downsides these tendencies of her character can have. She possesses enough discipline to clamp down on them if the need arises, or rather she lets herself of the leash if she thinks she has the leisure, fully intent on not letting herself come in the way of her ambition to become the sith lady she aims to be. And while her preferred form of combat is by the sword, she fully understands that words can be used to cut someone up just as much as a lightsaber.
- Primary Weapon Type: Lightsaber (Red Blade through). Her personal weapons are a paired set, geared for her own Jar'Kai variant of Makashi (Form II). Both Saber's are dual-phase with a "normal" length and "shoto" length. Her fighting style is based on using one in each configuration (basically a sword+dagger variant of Makashi)
- Armor Type: Wears mostly (probably not synthetic) leather as minimalist armor, claiming that "speed is armor" for her. The only exception are dueling bracers on her arm and shin's.
- Starting Abilities:
- Force Speed
- Force Jump
- Battlemind
- Advanced Lightsaber Combat: Jar'Kai Variant of Form II Makashi
- Equipment:
- Lightsabers
- Robes
- Sith Holochron
- Brief History: Her parents were captured by slavers looking for exotic dancers, sold to an establishment of ill repute in the empire, where she was born in their "quarters". by the time she was about "youngling" age, the club owner (unwilling to wait for her to be old enough to dance herself to make a profit) was put to sale. Her Sith Master found her then and recognized the spark of the force in her, taking her as student. Her Master, a sith focusing on bladework over manipulation in his quest for strength, quickly realized that her inborn grace would make her an excellent fighter in her time.
After years of grueling (though welcome to her) training, he was slain however, poisoned by a rival. Unwilling to serve someone she considered unworthy (due to methods), she rather flew her Master's compound, aiming to now find strength on her own, and maybe one day return to kill the poisoner to show where true strength lay. - Plot Hooks: Given Sia's tendency to seek out good opponents for a sword fight (and her equal tendency not fight to the death), there may be a number of hacked off apprentices and master's (or lovers, etc) on both sides who'd want to killher/bring her to justice/etc. The Sith who killed her Master may also aiming to tidy off loose ends. Ultimately, Sia's aims are about amibition, a combination of her love for a good fight and her love of attention. She wants to be on the top of the food chain and she wants people to know that she is.
- Links in the chain:
- Selth: He used to have a relationship to her former Master, and Sia traded on that to get some space between her homeworld and herself after he died.
- TBD
Any takers for the second Link with Sia? (Also, glad to see Sia is apparently not the token female anymore :P?)
@Kyle, why not have Sia infiltrate the gang lord as a slave girl for some reason of her own (steal a holocron out of his vault?), they got along and then when the bantha-poodoo hit the ventilator...*lightsaber sound*

"You can reply to this Message!"- Name: Selth
- Sex: Male
- Age: Late 30's
- Race: Human
- Class/Title: Consular
- Role on Ship: Dipolmat/Spy/Bloke who mind tricks officials into ignoring the massive cargo of illegal goods
- Alignment: Neutral, with slight Lightside leanings
- Appearance: Stand's 5'9 with short brown but greying hair and some stubble, he looks a bit older than he is.
- Personality: Selth is a calm and collected person, he tries - and for the most part succeeds - to keep his emotions out of of his decision making, preferring to stay out of other people's attention, but because of his strong moral centre he will come out of the shadows to fight for a cause he thinks is right. Still if he can serve a cause without revealing himself he will do that. Selth is quite a serious person but is not above making the (very) occasional joke.
- Primary Weapon Type: Single Handed Lightsaber using Niman
- Armor Type: Only his Gray Jedi robes with a bioregenative underlay
- Starting Abilities:
- Jedi Mind Trick/Dominate Mind
- Force Stasis
- Force Lightening
- Force Sense
- Equipment:
- Lightsaber - Violet
- Gray Jedi Robes
- Brief History: Was taken to be a Jedi at a young age, once the Mandalorian war broke out he was one of the first to join the fight against them, briefly serving as a (competent) General before being moved into Revan's newly made intelligence service. From there Selth spent the rest of the war gathering intelligence on Mandalorians. When the Jedi Civil war came Selth joined in attacking the Republic, again serving as a spy/information collector, tracking down and selecting important Jedi for capture. When Malak betrayed Reavn Selth refused to follow Malak and left the Empire.
- Plot Hooks: Having fought against the Republic and being responsible for many Jedi being captured and turned he has become an enemy of the Jedi, and due to leaving the empire there may be some sith who would try to kill him. Since he spent a lot of time with bounty hunter and underground contacts during his time as a spy they would know him as someone who can possibly be turned in for the bounty on Jedi. Is also very interested to find out what happened to Revan and why he disappeared.
- Links in the Chain:
- Sia: Knew her former master and then helped her get away from her homeworld.
- TBA

Since I have the drawing talent of a 1 year old, I'm going to try and describe how Sia's attire looks a bit more.
Her tunic is basically the same as he◊ wears, just in black (and a bit longer back and front), black bustier underneath, Thigh High Boots, Opera Gloves (or rather the sci fi combat variant of both ) and a belt with utilities.
She's very consciously trying to invoke Evil Is Sexy, figuring that since she forgoes armor anyway she can at least add some distraction or or charm bonus (or in inverse trying to play up the "young girl who does not know better" angle with some popel)
"You can reply to this Message!"I still need a name for this thing. Any of these stand out?
- Star Wars: Nights of the Old Republic, Days of the Empire
- Star Wars: Once Upon a Time in The Old Republic
- Star Wars: Misfits
- Star Wars: Shattered Galaxy
- Star Wars: Return of the Hydrospanner
- Star Wars: Revenge of the Smugglers
Please suggest your own ideas too, if you have one you like more.
Revenge of the Smugglers gets my vote
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundStar Wars: For a Fistful of Credits.
Star Wars: The Light, the Dark and the Ewok.
And I think Sia is at least aware enough that her clothing is more a social attack than a combat one
(And just saying, I now imagine AU Male!Sia to be a Walking Shirtless Scene for similar reasons)

"You can reply to this Message!"Revenge of the Smugglers is good, but it does require us to actually to some smuggling.
@Kyler Thatch: Selth could have been a former patient, injured during the Jedi Civil War, though it would probably require her hiding Selth from some Jedi

Yeah I like Revenge of the Smugglers but also Shattered Galaxy.
So, we have several force users on board, a Repair/Slicer Jawa, an actual Slicer, two bounty hunters...
I see the ship exploding from sheer 'does-not-get-along-ness'
Aside from some trolling/gadfly tendencies (which is very well just her practicing dun möch) Sia is actually probably not going to actively antagonize people.
((Part of that is because she considers it better if people see her more of a dark-ish annoyance than a future sith lady, as they will let their guard down better)

"You can reply to this Message!"Well you all get arrested for a battery of alleged crimes, including smuggling. So even if people haven't done any smuggling (yet), you're classified as smugglers or conspirators to a smuggling organization for that particular set of planets.
And considering how smuggler-friendly Wild Space is, you know it's gotta be something really bad to actually have people care that you're smuggling it.
Silence and 3of4, let me know if the links with your characters are acceptable. I'm assuming Darius' is since it's basically what Silence already put.
- Name: Rakko
- Sex: Male
- Age: Ewok equivalent of a twenty-five year old.
- Race: Ewok
- Title: Bounty Hunter
- Role on Ship: Goon/Guard
- Alignment: Grey. Kills people for a living but tries to only accept jobs for noble causes and has his own personal code of honor.
- Appearance: Basically looks like a mini panda bear in a brown Ewok hood. Has black and white fur and brown eyes. Stands about 1 meter tall.
- Personality: Rakko is in love with freedom. His days of a slave have made him wary of outsiders and the trauma he experienced has deeply hurt him. However, he remembers happier days of his time on the Forest Moon of Endor and, thus, tempers his rage and pain with nostalgia. He is intensely sympathetic to other slaves and he loves taking jobs that eliminate slavers. He is totally neutral towards both Jedi and Sith. In all, he just wants to get home but he knows that after his experiences, home will never be the same for him.
- Primary Weapon Type : Carries a sturdy blaster pistol.
- Armor: None
- Starting Abilities:
- [Ability 1]: Outdoorsmanship: Is skilled at finding prey and picking up trails from his days as a hunter on Endor. Sense of smell is increased so he can track a quarry by smell at short ranges. Can make primitive weapons, such as knives or axes, out of wood and stone. Can start a fire in the woods with very little.
- [Ability 2]: Cooking: Due to Ewoks' omnivorous nature, Rakko is a very good cook and can prepare meals that most humanoids can consume.
- [Ability 3]: Climbing: Due to their claws, short bodies, and habitat, Ewoks are pretty good climbers and Rakko is no exception. He can climb most anything from trees to short buildings in a manner reminiscent of a parkour teddy bear.
- [Ability 4]: First Aid: While his methods are primitive, Rakko nonetheless knows how to fix minor wounds and how to temporarily treat major ones. His time in the galaxy has gotten him accustomed to modern medpacks and bacta so he knows more medical treatments than most Ewoks.
- Equipment: Travels fairly light. His Ewok hood and his trusty blaster are his two most prized posessions but he also has a knapsack where he stores his gun when not in use and carries some ration bars, extra ammo, and his credits. Also carries a stone knife on his belt.
- Brief History: Slavers came to the Forest Moon of Endor twice a year to capture those adorable but fierce warriors known as Ewoks. These primitive beasts made excellent gladiators or "pets" for nobles. Rakko was one of these unfortunate Ewoks that got captured. Tortured, and stowed inside a crate, Rakko was transported to Nar Shadda with other slaves where he was purchased by a gladiator ring. Rakko was mocked mercilessly and many predicted he would not survive the first round of combat. This proved to be their undoing. Rakko endured the taunts and humiliation silently while watching his captors' every move. His guards underestimated him and he escaped. Along the way, he killed a guard and stole his blaster. Using his hunting skills that he developed on Endor and his newfound freedom, Rakko became a bounty hunter. He now wanders the galaxy, picking up jobs, and living paycheck to paycheck. While he wants to return home, he knows that it will never be the same for him. That and he has no idea where his home is.
- Plot Hooks: Is a bounty hunter so he can be partners or can work with other hired guns types of characters. He has a bounty on his head from escaping the gladiator ring so any prospective bounty hunters can track him down for money. Due to his time as a slave, he knows the inner workings of the trade and knows several high profile slavers.
- Links -
- Darius - Has partenered with this bounty hunter before. Is not overly fond of him because Darius often uses him for distractions but he considers him one of his only allies.
- Sia - Is pursuing the bounty placed on Sia's head by one of the many people she has pissed off. He considers this a noble pursuit for he has heard terrible things about the Sith and he knows that they have dabbled in the slave trade before. It was while pursuing her that he was arrested for causing a disturbance as well as several other crimes that occurred while he was chasing her. He does not carry a grudge against for her since they are both in the same boat now - literally.
Sounds good, even if its not the teddy bear Link I was hoping for
"You can reply to this Message!"Every character so far is acceptable, but I'll wait until people figure out their links before doing the "real" accepting.
Also here is the official signup, with a name and everything. So you can post your characters there instead of having them buried in this thread.
I also made a discussion thread.
"Sunhawk" for ship's name, "Star Wars: Shattered Galaxy" for the thread title! Or has that already been decided?
@Random: Kyla and Selth are both former Jedi... Would there be some vague camaraderie? Since she was never formally promoted to Knight, and he's a former Master, would he be interested in helping her complete her training?
@Fantasy Liver: If Rakko could be persuaded to work for cheap, she could have hired him as well as Uziel, if you want.
edited 17th Jan '15 2:11:17 PM by Blackfire667
Not entirely dead.Maybe she could have hired him to track down Sia in the first place?
@Blackfire667: I don't think they'd have known each other, Kyla may remember seeing Selth around in the Enclave (before the Mandalorian wars) but I don't think he'd remember her. But if she asks for training Selth would probably give it.
Can Gorlash make a special guest appearance?
Flesh is a design flaw.
