I think something that Nintendo should make for Super Nintendo World is a museum of old Nintendo products, like the Game & Watch, the Ultra Hand, the Color TV game 6 and the Love Tester, just to name a few. Similar to that Lucille Ball museum in Universal Studios Florida.

That sounds like a really good addition.

All the more obscure Nintendo history on display and you could try it out too.

Maybe a Metroid ride could be like that Buzz Lightyear ride in Disney's Magic Kingdom.

Where you ride through some alien planets and get to shoot at targets like a real-life rail shooter.

Or they could do that for Schtaaaafawks.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

Fred Seibert of Federation Studios mentioned on the Nick Animation Podcast that they are working on a project based off one of the most popular videogame series in the past 30 years that has been in development hell.

Considering Nintendo stated back in May they were looking for partners for films of their I Ps, it really looks like it's them. Probably Mario as well.

So instead of new Metroid and Advance Wars games I guess they're letting the indie devs make their own.

I'm pretty sure IS has abandoned the Advance Wars series for some time now anyways.

[up][up] Is this going to be a thing now? When Nintendo abandons their IP's, they let indie developers make their own spiritual successors?

Wonder if there will be a more militaristic and modern Wargroove game, since the middle ages theme was already covered by Fire Emblem. Someday...

[up][up] Nintendo should definitely make another entry for Advance Wars, but given the choice between indie AW knockoff and no AW-like game at all, I'll gladly pick the former. I played the hell out of that western-themed AW-like game on iPad.

Heck, there should be more AW knockoffs anyway. We need more strategy games without RPG trappings.

SMR may perform lower than expected, but it's still showing up on top grossing lists unlike Fire Emblem Heroes. (IOS at least.)

Heroes may be easier than mainline Fire Emblem games, but it is still not very accessible to the average mobile phone user.

Heroes is making far more money thanks to Japan if nothing else. I don't know why Nintendo is allergic to making money, but it's their loss.

Nintendo just wants to try to be different.

Plus they seem aware of the flack that "freemium" games get. Despite the fact that FEH and PGO are things.

Maybe Super Mario Run would've done better if it started with a free-to-start model, but had a limit on how much money you spent on it. After you reached the limit, you effectively bought the game and can play it like a regular game. Pokémon Rumble World and Pokémon Picross are some examples of this system.

Personally, I'd prefer if the 'net was a little friendlier, but you know the GIFT...

I think the problem is that despite it being a premium game, they decided to incorporate F2P elements anyway. The Toad Ticket system feels completely out-of-place and just there to artificially lengthen the game without the F2P model.

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.

[up][up][up] Plus, they probably don't want their fans to hate them for "selling out." The F 2 P strategy might work, but it's still frustrating, because you could've used that $29.99 to spend it on another game. (I'm guilty for being in that trap)
