NOTE - Report bugs along with your browser/version, operating system/version, and device. There are thousands of these combinations, and most bugs right now only affect certain combinations.
Tropers - As you are probably well aware by now, we've made a ton of changes to TV Tropes. Although most of the changes you see are primarily cosmetic, we are also part way through a complete overhaul of the backend code. With so many changes under the hood, it is entirely possible we broke a few things. If you find something that does not appear to be working correctly, this is the place to report it.
Please note, this thread is for BUGS only! If you have an idea, wish, or anything to say that is not related to a bug, please do not post it here. Those things can all be posted and discussed on other threads in Wiki Talk or the Tech Wishlist.
The more information you can provide about the bug (e.g., browser, operating system, etc.) and how to re-create it, the more likely we will be able to squash it.
Happy Troping!
EDIT: Here are some things that have been reported:
- Login issues
- Logins not sticking between devices
- Some people are still having issues with dropped logins.
- You can't log in if your username contains a space. Remove the space.
- Javascript: Your device must be able to run Javascript from tvtropes.org, static.tvtropes.org, ajax.googleapis.com, and netdna.bootstrapcdn.com. If you are blocking any of these, lots of things won't work, like editing pages.

No no no, I want my name to display in CamelCase, but I was trying to illustrate text formatting stuff and got caught with my pants down because I was not able to force it to display what I wanted to display. It's not a big deal, just something I'd like to be able to force at will, and it seems like something that should be doable. But if it's that troublesome then it's probably not worth it.
This. Sorry if I wasn't explaining myself well.

Oh. Nope, can't be done that way.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I guess it's the same category of problems as the hyphenizer and comma autospacer affecting links' href.
Speaking of, do people really forget spaces after commas? because it feels like a no-brainer for me...

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Not sure if this has been reported yet or not, but when I go to Profile >Messages on the mobile site's left side menu, rather than take me to my PMs (which I assume it's for) it takes me to my thread watch list which is already am option in that very same menu
My phone browser is Google Chrome version 43.0.2357.92

For what it's worth re: my last couple of posts, if anyone else is curious, bwburke got back to me and I feel like an idiot for not understanding the original advice—you literally just Pot Hole it the way you want it to display and then add a space inside the Pot Hole, at the end, between the display text and the closing brackets. I fixed my custom title so I know it's not just a coincidence:
e.g., Tropers/SolipSchism displays SolipSchism (as it should)
and [[Tropers/SolipSchism Solip Schism ]] displays Solip Schism

I don't get logged off randomly, but I do get logged off every time I close my browser, even when I check "Remember me". Windows 8.1, Firefox 38.0.5.
Did you check your cookie settings? If Firefox is eating your cookies, it'll log you out.
Be careful what you wish for, 'cause you might just get it all...I have Firefox set to accept cookies from sites, always accept third-party cookies, and keep cookies until they expire, with no exceptions.
Strangely, I don't have any login issues with Chrome (version 43.0.2357.124 m x64).
When I read an article, or really look at any page on the website, I only see the artice itself. The supposed-to-be-there sidebar is either completely black or not there at all. If it's black, I can't zoom out properly to have it included on my screen either, it acts as if the article is the only thing on the page... But I know it's there, because sometimes (as in, one in fifty or so) it is visible. (ipad)
Using Chrome version 43.0.2357.124 m, Windows 8
Clicking some of the "show only" options in You Know That Show causes the sidebar to disappear and the middle panel to be stretched out to a degree that I can't read the entire thing unless I zoom way, way out. The horizontal scrollbar does not appear.
Currently OK: Film, Live Action TV, Music, Radio Webcomic, Western Animation
Currently Bugged: Anime, Literature, Videogame
I think the issue may be when a user posts a really long link, it stretches out the whole middle frame.
Suddenly the Game Of Thrones book spoiler free thread is looking weird and I can't post in it. I don't know if it's like that in other threads.
Edit: Firefox and Laptop.

Please bring back the scroll bar in the editor.
A couple times, my computer has asked if I want to let a program know my location, but only when I'm on TV Tropes. Any other Apple users having this problem? Likely a buggy ad?
A quick site-Google tells me this is where to report that the main page for Panopticon is all screwy. All the non-site-infrastructure links go to a devlive.tvtropes.org behind a password wall. The subpages are fine, though.
Disclaimer: I've switched off my autocorrect. Brace fkr djsastrr.I reported earlier in the ask the tropers section that the main page was going to a 404 page, and that it was fixed suddenly
apparently it was not fixed, as trying to get to the main page once again redirects me to a 404
I'm not sure if this is just something on my end, but for reference I am using google chrome, most recent version
All our wishes can come trueWhen making a forum post on an android phone, the ad covers up the post text. Please anchor mobile ads to a set location on the page, and don't have them obscure text as you type.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youPreview window ignores view settings (checked "night vision" and "show spoilers"). Firefox 28 win32.

When a wikilink text has a formatted part, the link's underline is broken at that part. Example: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TheDreaded/RealLife the "But it's not like anyone would ever take the opportunity" part.
Technically, it's "<a>But it's not like</a> <em><a>anyone</a></em> <a>would</a> <em><a>ever</a></em>" rather than the expected "<a>But it's not like <em>anyone</em> would <em>ever</em></a>".
You can't use formatted text inside a wiki link; this has been the case for a long time. Wrap the link in the desired formatting code, breaking it up if needed.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "bug", but I noticed for a while that if I tried opening more than a couple of tabs (sometimes even as few as two tabs), eventually it would crash the Shockwave plugin and occasionally the whole browser, not to mention wicked lag. I came to the conclusion that it was the number of ads. I've installed Ad Blocker and so far had no problems, but I still think that the browser crashing repeatedly is a bit of a problem. Again, though, not sure how fixable that is. I use Firefox on a HP Pavilion laptop running Windows.
I hate advertisers. We are working on some stuff on our end that will hopefully stop this from happening.
I don't know what's happening but in the last few days, across multiple devices, TV Tropes has been running like crap. Certain boards will never load, others take forever (it has taken me literally 20 minutes of attempts to get the Tech wishlist to load so I could post this).
On top of that basically anything you click has a 50% to lead to a "page cannot be displayed" error. Editing my own forum posts often leads me to a page telling me I'm not logged in, despite the fact this happen. I get these issues across three devices on chrome.
Double Post: I just checked and there's no work article, so I don't know why the custom titler was misbehaving in your case. I just submitted a retitle to turn it off. See if it works.
