Prehistorik! Oregon Trail! Prince of Persia! Battle Chess Demo! THE INCREDIBLE MACHINE!!!
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesaw, no princess maker 2?
OMG, they have so many games that I used to play. Scorched Earth, the first game (and one of the very, very few) I actually pirated, due to being very young and not understanding why it was a bad thing. Bust-A-Move, one of the rare few arcade games (that silly Neo-GEO box!) that commanded a large portion of my quarters. Spy Hunter, Carrier Command?!
I must check this out.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Dune 2! MY CHILDHOOD!
This is amazing; just hope some cantankerous publisher doesn't come in a-swinging, despit ehaving no intention to release said software or update it or do anything with the IP...
According to that news article I linked, archive.org has DMCA exemption.

Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakDue to either incompetent or lazy programming, the DOS game's speed is entirely dependent on how fast your computer is.
There's no frame capping to be found there.

Well my PC is somewhat fast, so this explains a lot...
But still an mistake like this could be avoided by making the games run 40-60fps right?

Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakI'm not sure how in the world the Gold Box games (which are there) are supposed to work, given that 1) they required you to consult a manual every five minutes or so, and 2) I don't see how you would save your progress (you can't do them in one sitting).

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I was surprised to see all these. I'm curious how the legality works out.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelThis ain't worth it for me: either the games freezes, I have to ask an obscure question, or they're just unplayable.
Answer no master, never the slave Carry your dreams down into the grave Every heart, like every soul, equal to breakOlder games have emulation issues, From what I read, it's part of the emulator they used combined with the Browser based games. As for the manual, I was under the impression that every game from that era had at least one hack that bypassed copy protections.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Super Munchers? They have that? Man that archive makes me feel old.
The original wolfenstein
Zork
And thing that makes me feel the oldest: The DOS Version of Aladdin.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.eeeh.
no princess maker 2, no me.
sides, the only other dos game ive played is daggerfall, and they aint got that either.
...oh wait i think bards tale and wizardry and the predecessor to ultima are ms-dos too arent they?
Indeed. Several entrants of The Bard's Tale and Wizardry-series are there, as well as Akalabeth (Ultima's predecessor).
I can personally recommend Wizardry 3 (though I prefer the SNES version) and Akalabeth.

Archive.org has added a whopping 2,334 MS-DOS games to their archives, including a ton of licensed games like Disney products and the DOS port of Metal Gear.
Every single game is free for anyone to play, and you can play them as-is straight in your browser.
The archive is right here. I don't know about you guys, but I am getting into those text adventures and RTS games as soon as I possibly can.
What do you guys think of this mass-upload of classic games?
