The image is simply a picture of two females talking, with no indication that one of the have been genderbent (I don't even know which of the two used to be a guy), and the "friendship" isn't that apparent either. I'm thinking that this would need at least two shots with one depicting the characters not getting along before the genderbend occurs.

The one in pants seems happy and the one in a skirt is a man or one ugly woman. Looks good enough to me.

Seems pretty obvious that the one on the right's a dude. I think the image quality is kinda crap, but other than that, it's not bad.

[up]I think 4.2 is a much better improvement, because the person on the right doesn't look like a woman (in my opinion, anyway) in the current shot.

Looks okay to me. 4.2 doesn't say "friends" I don't think, I like them talking to each other.

4.2 is a slight improvement over the original suggestion, but I like either.

In case anyone doesn't know, the Tootsie character Dorothy (on the right) is played by Dustin Hoffman. Perhaps a note in the caption would help illustrate?
