And even Superman had to admit he could never relate to humanity and their more complex morality because he was a godlike alien. He said Captain Marvel was the greater hero, being both human and a Physical God.
I read it differently. Basically that by giving up the Clark Kent identity he had given up his connection to humanity.
The Spectre was never part of the JLA. The Spectre was a member of the JSA during the Golden Age and he sort of stopped killing (or rather, they stopped mentioning it).
But yeah, the Spectre was never a member of the JLA.
The Spectre is sort of beyond their control anyway, a mystical, untouchable Angel of Vengeance, more or less. He's trusted as a source only because he acknowledges the difference between the heroes and villains and generally has no other objective.
Kingdom Come's entire story is basically saying that a society destroying conflict would be the end result of superpowered, costumed vigilantes. Superman is included in that group. They found a solution by the end, but one that does away with the costumes and Secret Identities and leaves everyone accountable.
No, it's Waid pissing and moaning about kids these days. And, as those links demonstrated, not thinking about the implications of what he's written.

Yeah, except it's not. It's an Elseworlds story exploring a possible future. That's all.
I mean, Mark Waid has written tons of comics, even ones with killer heroes. (I mean, he wrote Irredeemable for gods sake.)
That it's an Elseworld does not mean it isn't a whine.
Apparently Batman will have a bigger role in the Suicide Squad movie than expected
"the Joker and the rest of the Suicide Squad?" So this means he's a member as well? Eeeehhhhhh...
That's demonstrably false as he wasn't included in the group photo and any group scenes
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherPoor word choice in a rumor article leading to a misinterpretation doesn't equal fact. Other rumors say Joker will have a Hannibal Lecter adviser role. Or Waller let Joker loose so the Squad could track him and lead them to the real Big Bad, which would make her responsible for what happens next.
I really like the uniform. Though I guess Deadshot is one of those characters whose mask was always going to look a little goofy in live action, huh?

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, it looks significantly better than any attempt at Batman.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I liked in Arrow where it was just an eyepatch/scope.
That seemed like half assing it.
Could've used his Arkham mask, but that's kinda half assing it too. I agree with the white helmet looking dumb.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."I was about to complain that the mask is too bright.
I've always wanted to see Deathstroke and Deadshot fight each other.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Honestly, it looks fine to me. I think its just a matter of Unpleasable Fanbase. If it's comics-accurate - like Deadshot's costume here really is - then it looks silly in live-action and we'll complain. If it's more realistic we'll complain that it's not as accurate to the comics as we want it to be.
The truth is, it's a pretty nice middle-ground compared to something like the punk rock interpretations of Joker and Harley (which themselves I think are great). We'll get what we get and I for one will accept it because this movie - of all the DCCU movies on the way - is the most random of the bunch and the only one that anyone seems to have any ounce of consistent confidence in.
"A king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies."I don't have a real issue with the mask. At least it's white.
I don't really have a problem with it, just thought it looked off. But that's how his mask normally looks.
I'm actually looking forward to this more than Batman v Superman. There's a lot of ways that movie can fail, expectations are high just from the title. Suicide Squad? Half this team could be dead by the end of the movie. We've got a Batman who I don't quite think is Stiller!Batman, they seem to be telling their own story and I'm not getting the impression that this film needs to do any heavy-lifting, or set up any other films (though I could be wrong).
It's unique, a supervillain film. Marvel supposedly had Venom and a Sinister Six film in the works, but those never came to pass. I'm pretty sure there's no other supervillain films out there, or at least none that have held up well in public memory.
To be fair, there aren't that many supervillain/Villain Protagonist stories I know of that are worth adapting. Irredeemable, Watchmen, Bomb Queen maybe - and that last one's pushing it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Fox is doing Deadpool, which is pretty close.
(Also, there's Megamind and Despicable Me, but they're both animated and probably not what you were thinking of.)

The mask looks a little bit off, but I prefer the cloth mask over a face covering helmet. Unless it gives them some significant tactical feedback like in a Powered Armor it would just get in the way.
Deadpool's a good guy, though... most of the time... isn't he?
Forgot about Megamind, never watched Despicable Me. I've actually gotten tired of seeing those yellow things around when I've never cared to see the movie they're from, I keep telling myself to watch it, but it's just not happening.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
At the same time Kingdom Come even points out that the old style heroes never had to face the threats the new ones did
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand Together
