Opening this, because the current image is just bad.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think the only way to accurately pic this would be to have something like a comparison between Rotten Tomatoes ratings of several good movies, and then the one bad one...but IIRC there's already one page pic that's like that.
What is the page where the pic is? Maybe that's where I saw it.

You're probably thinking of Sequelitis, although Video Game Movies Suck has a similar style of pic as well.

That was it, thanks.
How's this? The caption could be "Pixar animated movie ratings". I can't come up with nonboring captions.
I didn't want to put too many because either they'd get squished and it'd be unreadable, or it'd be ridiculously long.

I like that.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I do too.
That suggestion is fine. Would it be better to have the caption point out that it's the black sheep that's the trope?
Check out my fanfiction!Sure. I suck at captions.
I like that suggestion and the caption.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOk, I got it, how bout "One of these things is not like the others"?
Strongly object to that caption regardless of context.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The one thing I don't like about that suggestion is that it shows Cars 2, with the original Cars conspicuously absent. I get that the idea is to avoid confusing this trope with Sequelitis, but it still bugs me a bit.
I could put Cars instead but the drop in quality isn't as dramatic, being a 74 certified fresh. It was the worst for Pixar for awhile until Cars 2 came along. Hey that's fine, like I said, I suck at captions. Feel free to pick a different one.
Do more people like my suggestion?
The image is fine.
to that suggestion.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Clock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, I support the Cars 2 suggestion.
I think enough people like it, personally...
Alright, it's up, potholed and tagged, although it needs to be added to Image Source and probably downsized a bit; caption or no?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI cut some of the dead space from between the sections of the pic and downsized it; it looks much better now.
The picture is just some cows and a caption. Without the caption explaining everything, it's a poster for an animated movie and that's it. Yes there's a dumb pun and yes the cows have some Dreamworks face goin on, but that's about it to suggest that it may be mediocre, let alone a parvum opus.
I think that parvum opus needs to be shown in relation to other works from that artist. I would suggest some sort of pic (or collage?) of Pixar movies and their ratings on Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB— all extremely high, for the unaware; then, bam, Cars 2 rating (or Cars rating, which is the first thing I thought of, but the examples list Cars 2 so...). Then maybe some movies that got good ratings after it to really highlight that it is a nadir and not a trend. I could've sworn that I saw a succinct picture like that on Cracked.com or something. If it doesn't exist or we can't find it, then I guess I could make one?
EDIT: I would actually prefer Cars being the example over Cars 2 because 1. There have been more movies after the former than the latter; 2. The movies after the latter didn't get stellar reviews, so not as obvious of a nadir.
EDIT EDIT: Wait, does this work has to fit the criteria of 'creators themselves are ashamed by it'?
