Agreed, something that shows the moon actually as a moon would be better.
this would be perfect.◊ [1]◊[2]◊

Exactly how is that different from the normal moon?
I thought the trope is when the moon looks like it does in a lunar eclipse and how that's taken to be a bad thing.
Maybe this image of a red moon with bats flying in front of it.
That looks like the trope.
"A blood-red celestial body that wasn't there yesterday, without exception, means things are about to take a nasty turn." That's 5. It look great.
to five as well
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Another for 5.
5 doesn't look like a lunar eclipse. It looks more like Satan and the demons from Hell colonized the moon. for 5.
I'm in favor.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!5 is up and tagged, not sourced yet.
Caption or no?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow about this:
"A lunar eclipse as viewed from Hell."
"Red moon of R'lyeh, keep on shinin'..." (a parody of her song "Blue Moon of Kentucky", for those who don't get that last reference)
EDIT: Damn, we don't have a page for her? I has a sad.

I don't think this needs a caption, the image speaks for itself.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I think it speaks for itself too.
does the image have a source? It looks like it's from an anime of some sort.
Couldn't find anything with reverse-GIS or Tineye. Where did you get the picture, Camberf?
It was a gif I found, I'm almost positive it's from Hellsing.
How about "Red Moon, Take Warning".
Yeah, just checked, that's from the first episode I think.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I like that.
According to the description, Bad Moon Rising is "a red celestial body as a portent", not "the moon with a frowny face on it".
Sure, Majoras Mask is an example, but the image doesn't show that. We could get a better shot from the same game.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
