According to the description, Bad Moon Rising is "a red celestial body as a portent", not "the moon with a frowny face on it".

Sure, Majoras Mask is an example, but the image doesn't show that. We could get a better shot from the same game.

Exactly how is that different from the normal moon?

I thought the trope is when the moon looks like it does in a lunar eclipse and how that's taken to be a bad thing.
