I'm fairly certain that Morrison, for all of his importance in the lore, will only get to have a final showdown with Reyes, while everyone else does something more important, like taking down Talon.
Hell, if this game had a story mode, I'm sure it would end with 76 and Reaper beating each other to death ala Snake vs Liquid in MGS4. While everyone else is doing the important shit...

Alternatively, character development happens and he has a big climactic moment where he chooses saving the world over revenge. Reaper gets all pissy, and then Winston shows up because he still has a bone to pick over the whole glasses thing and Talon's resident edgelord of edgelords gets beaten to tar. :D
but HOW?It's just annoying that we get a game filled with diverse and interesting characters and who is the leading character getting the majority of the plot screentime?
Disgruntled white dude with gun. All that's missing is him having a dead wife and/or daughter.

"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValEh. I've seen the same shit on Blaz Blue. Hopefully Blizzard wises up, but I don't think it would be in a short time, and considering their record of focusing on one faction when there's also other colorful cast like in WoW... well it might pay to be wary.
I'm assuming that a plot point with 76 will be him trying to find hope again though I don't think he'll be in the ultimate starring role, at the very least Tracer will be the audience surrogate. I mean he's an old soldier, his time has long since passed. He's like Whitebeard from One Piece, a bygone relic from a distant past still trudging & fighting along till the day he dies.
Also hopefully his final match with Reaper has a good build-up cause that's gonna be fucking epic. Seriously, 2 of the greatest soldiers who ever lived, Titans of their generation go at it in one final all or nothing match to settle the score once & for all. I would love it if Reaper is the one who drops his guns first just to engage 76 in a simple fist-fight so he can finally prove to Morrison & the world once & for all that he (Reyes) was the better warrior in the fucking end.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm telling you guys, it's gonna be like the end of MGS4.
Just for the sake of providing lore, a comic about Doomfist would be nice, and then make him/her the next character.

I would like to point out that MOST of the lore so far has been Pre-Overwatch Recall at the moment. I think only a handfull of events have actually occured in 'the present day' or however you want.
The way I see it, Overwatch on the whole is the protagonists of the series, with Morrison just front and center since he's tied to why everything failed in the first place. As soon as stuff like First Strike is complete (basically a Prologue), I'm sure we'll get further development and all of our core cast members will have been released.
Also, if Morrison and Reaper turn out to have had a romance gone wrong, that would probably alleviate a few of the criticisms and it would arguably elevate Reaper a bit and make him even more of a tragic figure.

Harkening back to that honor types between Hanzo and Genji... I think I wonder... is it even tropable?
@Morrison= jesus 76:
No, Morrison can't be Jesus. However, he has better shot to be called Moses 76 or Jones 76.
I think Genji's code of honor fall under Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!?

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Is it just me or are there more leavers in competitive than there used to be? I can't complain about it too hard since the leavers were on the other team in both games I played today, giving me the easy way back to my peak ranking of 63, but I've noticed during the last week or so, people have been leaving my competitive games a lot more often than they used to.
Them healers gotta stick together

First name: No
Nabbed this neat comic dub too.

So dunno if you guys been following the current talk about defensive heroes. (Didn't see any talk about it in the last few pages)
In short, all the Defense heroes + Symmetra (Which really should be classified as a Defense hero) have a pick rate in tournament and competitive play of <5%. (in fact, <1% for all but Junkrat and Tolbjorn) This Reddit post sort of covers it or this video by Ginger (who mains a Genji competitively). In short basically all the defensive heroes only really work against newer players, and are destroyed by any skilled player with a decent secondary tank or flanker. Unfortunately, discussing how these heroes (IF these heroes) deserve a buff has been complex as defensive heroes are often seen as "annoying" and no one for example really wants to talk about Tolbjorn or Bastion being underpowered.
An example cited by both, is that Symmetra's ultimate is basically useless - there's no where you can drop the teleporter against experienced players, that it won't be found by the enemy flanker. The longer the game is out, the less places there are to drop the teleporter. It might as well not exist. Yet you can't make the teleporter invincible either, because then it becomes OP as hell.
There's an argument that "Does every hero need to be competitively balanced ?" that can be made, and it's not unsound. Defensive heroes see plenty of play at lower skill levels and on quick play. But the counterpoint to this is that them being unused in competitive and tournament weakens Overwatch's competitive scene. It makes tournament games a lot less fun since you're going to see the same exact team line ups face each other again and again. And it basically pigeonholes the game into a single competitive meta (Tank - 2ndary Tank - Flanker - Healer - Mid Range DPS - 2ndary Healer)

If you mean <5% and <1%, then I can totally see why; Defensive heroes have skills that may seem useful to new players, but to players who've virtually mastered how the game works and play with a team that knows how to play around each other? They'd get absolutely wrecked in any sort of well-coordinated play.
As for Symmetra, one of the things they can do to improve her teleporter was mentioned in the comments on that thread: make it quiet. Sure, anyone who's managed to figure out every nook and cranny of the maps will be able to eventually find it, but making it inaudible to the enemy team might actually go a long way in keeping it active, at least in the non-professional scene.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.Yes I do. derp
That's a problem that's gonna stick around for a game so new and with such a small hero pool. Even DotA, with a lineup of 111 heroes, sees only about twenty-five heroes, give or take a few, frequently picked or banned each meta. That's roughly 28% out of a 111 hero pool.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.True, but it's a bit more shocking when you're dealing with an entire class of heroes.
I guess Blizzard might take this as lessons for future defensive heroes' design
I do think Hanzo and Widowmaker can be fixed by some math tweak at least. Maybe even Mei to a degree. The rest of the defensive heroes I think would require too much a change in fundamental design I don't think Blizzard will risk (Not counting that I doubt anyone at Blizzard wants to explain that Bastion needs a buff to their player base).

I think a major issue with pretty much every defensive hero (and Symmetra) is that they're either too situational, or require some form of staying still or moving ridiculously slowly in order to utilize their full potential: Hanzo moves like a snail with his bow drawn, same with Widowmaker when she's scoped up, Bastion's turret mode, etc. etc. You'd have to build your team around them to keep them alive and useful, and they aren't exactly the best heroes when it comes to taking objectives in the first place.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.plus why even bother with widowmaker when you have McCree or, situationally, Ana. Sure, Ana may not instagib people on headshots, but she's packed to the gills with utility. Not that you'd see her with how dominate Lucio/Zenyatta pairs are.

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"
Cmon he only has one thing that stars only him which was his short video. His comic appearances has him sharing the spotlight with Ana & Reaper but that's it. Also something to notice but besides Ana, no one actually seems to respect him anymore. He's kinda of an asshole really & there's no measure to hide that.
Also here's something I noticed but I wonder what Reaper thinks of Pharah. Now this has nothing to do with him being her father but on the basis that Ana is the only person we have seen Reaper show both civility & respect towards so I wonder if some of that respect extends to her daughter, at least a little.
