Max Trope seems to be "a character is named Max". How is that tropeworthy? Many people are named Max (I'm one of them myself), so it seems like an example of People Sit on Chairs. EDIT: It also had only 1 hat when launched in YKTTW, which isn't very good.

I think the closest thing to a trope here is Punny Name with a focus on Max that isn't really needed.

What about "choice of 'Max' as a first name that indicates that the character is supposed to be awesome/badass"?

Doesn't seem like a convention to me. Nevermind that it will almost certainly be misused to hell and back.

At most I could see a trope for 'Maximilian' being a standard name for a knight or aristocrat but yeah Not A Trope.

Leaper: Many of the examples on there are merely people named Max, not people whose name of Max makes them badass.

From the example list, the only trope the name Max seems concretely tied to is Punny Name and that is a trope already. Even the Max as a badass are largely when it's used as a Punny Name for something badass so it's already covered.

I'll go ahead and say that this is People Sit on Chairs and should go on the Cut List.

I'd say it needs massive cleanup, but "Max Noun" is probably a trope (a la "Max Payne," "Max Power," "Max Headroom") as a subtrope of Punny Name.

But given the quality of this page, I'd say a new YKTTW would be in order because... yeah. There's not a lot to salvage here.

I don't think its enough of a distinction to be a real subtrope.

^ Me neither. I'm going to take Septimus Heap's advice and cutlist it.

That's incredibly premature.

There is literally Not A Trope here. We could send it back to YKTTW, if it ever was there, and try and find one but really that would be starting from scratch anyway.

Larkmarn: Septimus Heap said it should be cutlisted, and he's a moderator, so he has the say.

Ahem, there is a functionality that distinguishes "posts-as-a-regular-poster" from "order-from-the-staff" and that functionality is that the latter posts are in pink. I was stating my opinion, not a Word Of Moderator.

I am in favor of the Burn It To The Ground option (Cutlist).

Counting myself (also a mod for what it's worth) we have five votes for burn it. We can do a crowner if necessary, but there really isn't a trope here.

I agree that this is chairs. I'm fine with cutting it.

ETA: It only has 9 inbounds anyway.Nothing that would probably be missed.

Cut, and maybe move those "Punny" examples to Punny Name.

It can obviously be used as a pun, since it has an obvious meaning in itself, but isn't distinct from other names that can pun. Like my own.

So other than moving the actual puns to where they belong, there's nothing here of note. Count that as a vote.
