Since it's an abstract concept, a more abstract picture is probably best. Even if it's really just Power Glows, it's better than nothing.

Anyway we are pretty much going to have to go with something along the lines of Mana Meter any way we go unless we want to go with something super text heavy like [1]
(remember right to left). At least with the Diablo 3 it explains everything and such.

The OP suggestion does at least say "energy potion". Mana is energy of some sort.
