Impressive results is correct.

Helps that working out can make you freaking superhuman in the verse.

Unless he used the "glitching" to enhance his gut punches.

I guess he was a vault boy reference. His power lets him glitcj and lord knows those games are glitchy.

I love how his power is basically "clipping through walls in real life".

I wouldn't necessarily say that his power is overpowered in and of itself either; it has even more limitations than I thought would. I guessed the breathing thing, but I didn't think it would blind him too. That said, even somebody who isn't very skilled could probably get a little bit of use out of it, though whether it would be enough to be useful as a pro hero as Mirio makes it is an open question.

Like it would probably be possible to use it to propel himself along the ground at high speed by just activating it in your feet, sinking a few inches into the floor, and then letting it shoot you back out.

And we also add another one to the "Bakugou being really intense at mundane tasks" folder. "Bring your damn trash to meeeee!" Love it.

Finished v6. Good stuff there. After that entertaining but largely stakes-free tournament it's nice to see the plot show up again. Stain is a pretty interesting villain and I like his motivation. It's unique.

Mirio can teleport because of a damn glitch. I love it.

Makes sense that All Might had Swagamoto as a sidekick. Who will probably take Deku under his wing, setting him on a direct course to Overhaul.

Man, I wonder how Mirio discovered that's that how his quirk works. I'd be scared to try that, because of the strong possibly I'd end up embedded in the ground.

I want to join in saying that Mirio's specific take on intangibility powers are awesomely designed and thought through, but... Two questions come to mind.

1) If keeping Permeability "on" makes him fall through the Earth indefinitely and turning it "off" in the middle of solid matter makes him shunt outwards (which I would assume to actually technically be a "semi-on" state rather than truly "off") did he manage that trick of keeping himself held still in the ground with only his face poking out while he was stalking Midoriya during trash duties? Let alone how he managed to speak when his lungs should be either intangible or semi-intangible?

2) If even his retinas can't interact [sufficiently enough?] with light for him to be able to see while he's intangible, then how is it that he's still visible while intangible?

I mean, I know the "why" of that second question, of course; Because turning invisible while also intangible would seem even more overpowered and make his powers look way less cool. But I still can't help but be forced to actively recognize that question and let it go, y'know? The former I am more genuinely curious about. That seems more plausible to be an actual feature of how Mirio has learned to master his Quirk, one that he didn't [seem to?] need to use at all while he was thrashing Class A-1.

He's impermeable to particles but not to waves, so light with its dual nature is still able to bounce off of him, but not enough to let him see? Or maybe it has something to do with those Mickey Mouse eyes of his.

I've been wondering about your first question too.

He can't see while intangible for the same reason Tooru can while invisible.

Mirio's quirk is just one of those things that you shouldn't think too hard about. Like if he made his windpipes tangible while keeping the rest of his body intangible in order to be able to talk while phasing, then it would have been more logical if his innards went whooosh. Awww.

Not to mention how his intangibility can appear to differentiate between different states of matter and keep his bodily fluids in the right place and all that kind of stuff.

... I wonder if he could use his Quirk for automatic self cleaning. Just go intangible and have any dirt and stuff just fall off his body. That would be make it Cursed with Awesome rather than Blessed with Suck.

The answer of why he doesn't just fall apart when partially intangible probably has to do with quantum entanglement or some other nonsense where his power somehow knows his body as a whole, so individual parts don't just fall off.

And yeah, I'm already imagining how easy it would be to go to the bathroom. Just turn your lower half selectively intangible and the waste matter just drops out of you.

That issue seems simple enough. Quirks are genetic and essentially serve as an additional bodily function, so every cell in mirio's body can phase without issue.

On the note of how he knows he's still visible; I imagine somebody told him.

Actually, that might be more of a problem than doing it normally, since he'd probably have to remove his pants in order to avoid making a mess of himself. There's also the fact that presumably stuff he's eaten/drunk stays with him, or he'd leave a trail of half-digested food behind every time he uses his power. So it's possible that any "waste matter" would just turn intangible along with him. Granted, if his control were fine enough he might be able to work around it, but barring very specific circumstances, I can't imagine that doing that would be easier than just going normally.

Even if it wasn't difficult to get the waste out like that, he'd still have to go to the hassle of finding a bathroom because you can't just go around excreting waste whenever you want.

I was about to suggest phasing into the ground and depositing it there, but then I remembered what happens when he unphases while in something. Then I had the mental image of poop being flung from the ground like it was shot out of a cannon and him just poking his face out of the ground and going "Oops".

Stain should chop Endeavor's head off. He goes after glory-hog "fake heroes" so why not?
