Sword of Queen's Faith

Your name is Faith Redux Long, or as this bracelet called you Magical Girl Pawn Magician.

When your brother woke you up earlier today, he asked you to clean out the attic for him instead. Not one to refuse helping others, you did so. Only a couple of minutes in, your attention was caught by a box near the back. Digging through it and pulling out the bracelet, you intrinsically put it on.

Your body was suddenly enveloped in fire, and just as quickly as it started it was gone. Looking down to see yourself dressed in red Victorian clothing with splashes of white, and noticing the frilly arms & black bow at your chest a smile grows on your face.

"Hell yeah, magical superpowers!" Your smile now turning into a thinking expression, you begin to wonder what to do now.

[]"Wait, why didn't I panic?"

[]Wonder if there's a cute mascot

[]Hit the town, Magical Girl Pawn Magician is here!~

[]"Hey, Pawn Magician? What the hell even said that?"

[]"Crap, I'm dreaming aren't I? Magic isn't real..."

Sword of Queen's Faith is some kind of interactive story thing, so figured that counts as a Forum Game. Anyways, Sword of Queen's Faith is a Magical Girl sort of thing and other "Playable Characters" will be unlocked once encountered.

Regarding actions, it needs at least two votes to be included. If the actions are mutually exclusive, then the one with most votes will be done. Any action can also be suggested regardless if it was listed. You can also vote for as many actions as you want.

Faith, nor any of the other characters, can hear the posts and the posts would in-universe be the current Player Character's thought processes. Player Characters can also only be changed outside of combat. Finally, more of the world will be revealed as it is explored. Welp, just gonna hope this actually goes somewhere and I didn't put this in the wrong area.

• Bracelet: Pawn Magician
• Powers: Pyrokinesis (Current Applications: Too hot to safely handle things, can form into shapes, control over generated flames' movement), Teleportation (Known Limitations: ???)
• Appearance: Standing five foot five, this flatchested short-haired ginger looks cheerfully onward with her green eyes. Commonly dressing as a boy in part to avoid panty shots, she also prefers long sleeved clothing to stay warm.
• Personality: Helpful by nature, if a bit socially confused, she's always ready to help others. She's also rather forgiving of others, but as a hero she will try to right wrongs regardless. Though, since she can easily accept things, she won't blindly declare "the law must be obeyed!"

Important Information

Kachemetc: Horrible monsters born because of emotions, they are nonetheless the source of Mana Bracelets. Their destructive nature draws them to populated areas, and while possible to be felled by mundane means Magical Girls are capable of killing them much easier. Curiously, while referred to with chess terminology there doesn't seem to be a "King" Kachemetc.

Keber: A strange black furred fox creature with floppy wing-like ears, it primarily uses its ears to interact. Sensing whenever a Mana Bracelet has found a new owner, Keber will quickly locate them to answer their questions. While coming off as a suspicious creature, he possesses a wide spectrum of emotions. Though, it hates whenever anyone brings up Puella Magi Madoka Magica and seems to care about the Magical Girls due to the sadness he feels for one "Adena Ahava". His currently demonstrated abilities include projection of images, telepathy, flight, and phasing.

Magical Girl: One who has somehow acquired a Mana Bracelet, they're allowed to do as they please with their powers. While warrior Magical Girls will be informed about the Kachemetcs, they're in no way forced to actually confront the monsters. There also doesn't seem to be worry about secrecy, as one of the current Magical Girls uses her powers to be a professional singer.

Mana Bracelets: The physical remains of a Kachemetc's magic, despite worries Mana Bracelets are ultimately harmless to their wearers. Coming in five classifications (Pawns/Rooks/Knights/Bishops/Queens), each will construct powers reflecting or enabling mental aspects of a person (such as pyrokinesis for a pyromaniac or teleportation for one trying to run away from something). There are currently eleven Mana Bracelets in existence, and in turn eleven Magical Girls.

GINGER IS ZE MASTER RACE! WE MUST CLEANSE ZE INFERIOR NON-GINGER PEOPLE FROM ZIS WORLD! ZEY ARE ZE CAUSE OF OUR ECONOMIC SUFFERING AND FOR ZAT ZEY MUST PAY! WITH ZESE POWERS WE SHALL ESTABLISH ZE ERA OF ZE FOURTH REICH! SEIG HEIL!!!

Looking down at your hands for a moment, two orbs of fire suddenly manifest. Making one orb float around, you cause the other to morph into a dagger. Looking to your right, you suddenly teleport five feet over. One big grin on your face, you let your thoughts run.

"Pyrokinesis and Teleportation, oh god this is gonna be awesome. No way anyone could stop me, I'm probably savvy enough I can use these to take over the world if I wanted. I'll be-"

[X]"Wait, why didn't I panic?":

Suddenly confused, you look yourself over again. There's no new burns because of the transformation, yet upon reflection you definitely felt heat. You're not crazy enough to actually enjoy pain, but by all rights that should of bothered you at least. Probably just an aspect of the magical bracelet, that or the fire is simply for show.

[X]Figure out how to transform:

You think about detransforming and the outfit burns away to reveal your normal clothes. Thinking about retransforming, and the magical girl outfit quickly returns. Wow, this is surprisingly a lot more intuitive than you would of guessed. Figured you would spend some time flailing about trying to master this thing.

[X]"Hey, Pawn Magician? What the hell even said that?":

Upon reflection, Pawn Magician is a stupid name. What, did some five year old make this thing and thought "Pawn Magician" sounded cool? In addition, you have no idea what even said that. It definitely wasn't your voice, yet there wasn't any sound to it.

" I'm sorry, but I'm Keber and I'll be your mentor until another Magical Girl finds her Mana Bracelet." Turning to your left to see a floating foxy thing with long floppy wing ears and a black coat, it looks at you with a smile.

" I'm afraid your Pyrokinesis won't work for that at this state, you lack the fine control to make cool flames. Though if you intended on destroying everything anyways, then go ahead."

Raising an eyebrow(?) in response to your imitation of a German accent, Keber's left wing ear pulls back your right sleeve. Gently running its wing against the bracelet, you notice its now red instead of the grey color when it was deactivated.

" Mana Bracelets are the physical remains of a Kachemetc's magical energy. The magical energy will shape itself to reflect the wearer, such as granting Teleportation to one trying to get away from something. Kachemetc and thus Mana Bracelets come in five types, Pawns, Rooks, Knights, Bishops, and Queens. The one you currently have is a Pawn-Class Bracelet, making you one of the weakest Magical Girls in terms of raw power."

Mentally groaning at how much it, well, thought you proceed to pounce at Keber. Crashing to the floor with it firmly held between your arms, Keber doesn't really resist as you cuddle it. Phasing through your grasp after a minute, it thinks at you again.

" Though I am indeed so very fine, I'm not a toy to be played with. However I do like being scratched behind my ears~" Okay, that tone of thought was just kind of creepy...

Looking at you for a brief second, Keber stretches out his ears. Spraying them apart, a translucent image suddenly forms of some grotesque creature. Your eyes bugging out upon seeing its eldritch visage, the image vanishes.

" Given would imply you were explicitly chosen, and no offense meant, you weren't. However, slaying the Kachemetcs is a duty I inform all warrior Magical Girls of. They are dangerous magical creatures born because of emotions, and the Mana Bracelets are scattered throughout the world because they'll appear anywhere. While possible to kill a Kachemetc without magic, they usually cause massive amounts of death and destruction before being felled. They'll regenerate over time as well, so it is ultimately better if a Magical Girl fights them."

Well, this quickly became less fun...

[]"Hypothetically speaking, do I have to fight the Kachemetcs?"

[]"Are there any other Magical Girls in the area?"

[]"Explain why its a good idea to use dead magical monsters to kill said magical monsters? Kind of like being human..."

[]"I'm not trying to run from anything, so why do I have Teleportation then?"

[]"What happens once you tell me everything you need to?"

"Wait, hold on... What about the King?"

Closing his eyes in thought, Keber responds quite simply. " It is a hypothetical super Kachemetc, but even if it does exist I wouldn't know how to find it. It would likely be beyond all Magical Girls though."

Generating another image between its ears, many of the figures are colored with some more so than others. " While science would have you believe emotions are nothing more than a biological aspect, in the world of magic they're everything. However, that means sufficiently intelligent or emotional individuals could shape reality by mistake. Thus, born from negativity, Kachemetcs will personify that darkness. It takes quite a lot of emotional buildup in an area before a Kachemetc will be born however."

[X] "YOU MUST TELL ME VERE ARE ZESE OZER MAGIKAL GIRLS! VEE MUST FINT ZEM SO WE KAN EXTRAKT ZEIR SOULS AND KREATE ZEE ULTIMATE ÜBERMENSCH! And vere are zee ozer Mana Bracelets?":

Keber looks at you with some curiosity, before stretching out his wings again. " There's two other Magical Girls in this city, and another eight elsewhere. The first has been spending these last two weeks stopping criminals, though... She didn't really like Germans, and honestly after what they did to Adena Ahava I'm not too fond myself. The second, you might know as Angel Princess Liliana. She's been using her Mana Bracelet for a whole month by this point, but she's pacifistic by nature so don't worry."

Softly dropping onto a box, Keber lazily stretches out his limbs before continuing. " Magic doesn't work like that by the way. However, if you want more power you simply need to wear more Mana Bracelets. There's only eleven currently in existence, so congrats on being the last Magical Girl for now. You're free to do whatever with any Mana Bracelets you gain from killing Kachemetcs. Speaking of, one should be arriving some days from now."

Suddenly, Keber's face becomes extremely angry before speaking angrily as well. " Why does everyone ask that!? Nobody ever asks "Are there Sailor Scouts", "Can I make Clow Cards", no! Its always "Will this screw me over somehow"! The Mana Bracelet is just magic, do you worry about becoming a pig whenever you eat their flesh or becoming a tree whenever you use paper!?"

Upon realizing it spoke out loud, Keber slaps himself in the face before sighing. " I'm sorry... Ever since they produced that show, nearly every Magical Girl asks me that. I just get so annoyed... Though, while using the Mana Bracelet won't harm you some Magical Girls do go mad with their newfound power. It unfortunately happens a fair bit, but that what happens when humans gain superpowers. You should also be cautious of other Magical Girls, as they might want to steal your Mana Bracelet. Overall you're quite a helpful bunch, so I wouldn't really worry."

"Faith, are you having another one of your weird roleplaying sessions? I heard angry shouting and need to know if you're fine." Crap, your dad heard Keber? How the hell did that happen? Looking over to the fuzzball, he looks suitably embarrassed.

" I'll only have enough time to answer one or two more questions, I can't let non-Magical Girls see me. I'm really sorry for that outburst..."

[]"I'm calling it 'A Magi and her Familiar', its a new story I'm working on!"

[]"Nope, I'm just here talking to a magical critter saying there's horrifying Eldritch Abominations I get to kill with my new magical powers. Magic!"

[]"This isn't over fluffy, if this thing does eat me you will rue the day you met Faith Redux Long."

[]"So... Are there Sailor Scouts?"

[]"Who's Adena Ahava? Former Magical Girl?"

[]"Where's this German-Hating Magical Girl supposed to be?"

And this should end the little exposition session. By the way, I've mainly included all actions so far just because this is the beginning. I'll start enforcing the "needs two votes" rule soon enough, though I'll occasionally ignore it if there's not many votes. Finally, I was really hoping someone would bring up Madoka. Love that show, but the Mana Bracelets really won't make you into a Kachemetc.

With that question, Keber looks away from you. Tears welling at his eyes, he speaks softly. " I... I don't want to talk about her... She didn't deserve what happened to her... And what they say about her? Lies."

Wow, at first you kind of thought he was real-life Kyubey but... Damn he sounds sad.

Looking down at Keber's crying, sad visage you uncomfortably rub your arm. "He's really suspicious, but how can one feign sadness like that? Still, he is probably some evil fluff ball..."

Clearing your throat before standing straight, you speak with clear will. "This isn't over fluffy, if this thing does eat me you will rue the day you met Faith Redux Long." Looking up at you and wiping away its tears, Keber floats in the air again.

" You wouldn't be the first to issue that statement. I'll see you later Magical Girl Pawn Magician." Just as he floats out of the house, he sends one last thought. " Though, I think Fiona is a much better name for you than Faith. Your behavior is rather fair..."

You hate feeling sad, and he freaking made you feel crappy. Stupid bunny fox thing... Gathering your thoughts for a few moments, you call down to your dad semi-jokingly "Nope, I'm just here talking to a magical critter saying there's horrifying Eldritch Abominations I get to kill with my new magical powers. Magic!"

Hearing no response for several seconds, he finally calls out "I really think you're a bit obsessed with that Puella Magi franchise. Sci-fi was my thing when I was a child, but as long you don't make satanic pacts with any cute animals I'm fine with your make-believe."

Huh, dad usually responses instantly... Maybe the bracelet was your mother's before she died?

This is enough standing around, you got magical superpowers and you will use them damn it! Walking over to the attic window, you're about to open it when you stop. "Wait, I can teleport now... Should probably make a habit out of that."

Teleporting to the other side, you take a deep breath. The sky seems so much bluer and the air smells so much cleaner now. Being a Magical Girl is gonna be completely awesome. Though, you've only been one for seven minutes now and you will eventually be attacked by something. Really should train...
