I can't see any way that B.D Williams and Lego can result in anything less than awesome. If this does well enough it might be interesting to see if they try and push some other concepts based on other Lego lines. Something like Nexo Knights sounds like it could have some decent Python-style comedy in it.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."They're doing a Ninjago movie next.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Not LEGO. Thank the writers, director and producers.
Yay Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are returning! :3
Superman keeps the red trunks, thank God.
Is that Talia directly to Alfred's right? It 's clearly a brunette woman with a black jacket and sword sheath.
Apparently, Jenny Slate will be Harley Quinn.
It's not the most surprising element, but I love that Man-Bat is in there.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Even so, I think for all its bells and whistles this movie will thread basically the same character arc LEGO Batman has been having in each one of these productions. I don't doubt it'll do great, it'll look great, it'll have a few funny moments (although I suspect we already saw most of them), and it'll be full of Easter Eggs, and for a relative newcomer it'll look fresh as heck, but I doubt this will do much more at its core than basically touching the same chords once more.

The live-action portion will reveal that the film is a sequel to The Lego Movie; after the events of the first film, Finn's dad realizes the fun of being ridiculous with his Legos and promptly creates a new Gotham set as it is revealed that he is a comic book fan.
The climax will be an inverse of the first film, with the father explaining to the son what is exactly going on with the static Legos.
New TV spot is up!
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I can't explain why but I love Joker's line: "Introducing the worst villains in the history of forever." That neatly sums up Batman's Rogues Gallery IMO.
It's actually quite backwards. Batman is widely acknowledged as having the best, richest rogues gallery in the history of comics.
Spider-Man's rogues gallery far outclasses him in the stupid factor (though Spider-Man's is also brilliant)

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah the top 3 Rogues galleries in comics based on general consensus is: Batman, Spider-Man, and The Flash.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureYeah, your average person on the street is virtually guaranteed to know Ra's, Scarecrow, Joker, Two-Face, and Bane by this point in time thanks to The Dark Knight Trilogy. Talia's the sole exception, given as her reveal happened so late in the film that it's unsurprising that audiences have forgotten about her.
Most people are familiar with Lex Luthor and Zod for Superman though.
EDIT: Nevermind, I thought you were talking about the ones most people knew than best.

And that's not even counting Mr. Freeze, Penguin, Catwoman and Poison Ivy who are also known by pretty much everybody.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah, I can't tell if Joker is talking about the "worst" being the most dangerous or the lamest, considering he ends with Gentleman Ghost (who is just obscure, not really a loser), Calendar Man, and Condiment King.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).@137 I'll do you one better - The Reveal will show that the movie is Bruce Wayne playing with Lego sets, literally building the Gotham he wishes he could create with his work as Batman.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. And then Superman accidentally destroys the city, apologizes, rebuilds it in a minute, and then leaves.
Calendar Man's status as a joke would also require you to ignore The Long Halloween and Batman Arkham City, Batman Arkham Origins which all feature Calendar Man (originating from his portrayal in The Long Halloween) as basically a holiday-themed vicious serial killer that can chill any reader to the bone.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."I've found out a surprisingly large amount of people not 'in the medium' knows about Mad Hatter and King Tut too.
Is Mad Hatter really obscure, though? He's shown up a lot in Batman: The Animated Series, particularly in two memorable episodes, the Arkham games, and more recently as a recurring villain in Gotham. So I could see where he would be recognized by the more mainstream audience. Surprisingly, he doesn't seem to be in the movie right now.
King Tut is more obscure, but he was also one of the more prominent villains in the 60's series after Riddler, Penguin, Joker, and Catwoman. The only reason he hasn't been in DC stuff is because the rights were with Fox and DC couldn't use him until these past few years. Rumor is that's why they created Maxie Zeus as an expy.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Mad Hatter became my favorite villain because of his appearance in Batman the Animated Series.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
Considering Billy Dee Williams' amazing cameo in The LEGO Movie, I'm not surprised that they got him for this as well (also, as noted elsewhere, the fact that he had been looking forward to playing Two-Face since the '89 movie). But the fact that they had the presence of mind to offer him the role... that's just really cool.
Also, if this means that Billy Dee is going to end up in every single LEGO movie... that'll go under "things I'm not going to complain about."
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
