They're about the same to me, although I do like the suggestion for being a one-panel pic.
I do like the single panel, but it kind of looks like wind.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think both look a bit awkward.
Check out my fanfiction!Description says that the gesture usually conveys "arrogance, confidence or vanity". Neither image pictures any of those things. Maybe [1]◊
That one works, but is there a bigger pic out there that we can crop?
I like 5. Not convinced on current (looks more like someone's hair was thrown around by the wind) or the OP suggestion (looks like a corpse on some platform).
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like 5 as well. There are a few issues with the image itself, but the pose and such is good.
Check out my fanfiction!Eh... 5 just looks like a generic action pose with wind blowing her hair back to me. It doesn't look like she's the one flipping her hair.
Agreed. I'd prefer current over any single-panel non-moving image that doesn't lampshade it, I'd say.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The position of her hadn vis-a-vis the hair does not suggest "wind" to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAre there any still images from hair product ads in GIS that have good examples?
Oddly enough, I never actually saw any hair ads where the "protagonist" actually flips their hair. They kinda just float around, presumably to show how silky smooth they are.
Nothing definite, but this◊ could be a good way to picture the trope.
Is there a different version of that image? That one is very blurry.
Another suggestion: this◊ one might be a little more obvious than 5.
I like 15.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.15 is the best so far.
In 15 it doesn't look like she is shaking her head. More like it's been done with her hand or by wind.
It looks exactly like she's tossing it with her hand, but why is that a problem?
Isn't that exactly how this trope is supposed to manifest? After all, the very first line of description says: "This can vary from running your hand through your hair to brushing a few locks out of your eyes to giving your Rapunzel Hair a good toss"
Okay, I wasn't aware of the hand thing being part of the trope. Still being on the lookout for a work-related pic.
Work-related suggestion, though the hand isn't used:

Kim Possible? [1]◊
The exact mechanics of how the flipping is done isn't important, as long as it conveys the same feelings as the trope.
