It's kind of impossible to "think about it" unless you already know Japanese. The puns are based on the meaning of the kanji. Even the implied kanji for someone who writes their name in hiragana.

We do. Can we get a mod to merge them then?

Considering the other thread is talking about LN spoilers compared to the anime it might be best to keep them split.

As for the show itself, frankly I'd really like to see something about showbiz and renewing a run-down theme park. The primary danger is that it'll be bogged down in generic stuff about undressed girls. Which seems like a very real threat at the moment.

I like the actual magic.

Frankly I don't care about the fanservice, but it is strong yet brief. Better than long lingering shots I suppose.

Other than that it mostly seems to consist almost entirely of typical Kyo Ani fluff; it's easy to watch but not amazing.

First Visit:

  • You have been asked out on a date. With a musket in your face, you cannot refuse.tongue
  • Heart-pounding, heart-healing, heart-fluttering excitement- Okay, this park's a dumpnote . And I liked how...enthusiastic Isuzu was being.[lol]
  • Don't mess with Muffle, lest you want a good sock to the stomach.
  • Seiya was a child actor, huh? Wonder what happened...
  • I am convinced that Isuzu and Mami frequent the same gun shop.tongue

Nice opening act. I'll be staying until the curtain comes down.

Episode 1. In which there is a less than brilliant park.

The beginning reminds me of an old Swedish Save the Children ad. Actually one of my favourite ads ever. The text at the end says, "Change the view for millions of children."

I'm not sure I've seen someone ask someone out on a date quite so aggressively before.

He's a little too confident.

That's a good way to show up.

That park has seen better days. Probably.

She's always deadpan, and he always calls her by full name. Good match, I suppose.

What does he mean by rip-off? Totally original character! (Don't steal!)

I like the way she does a V sign for the photo.

Those faries have varying levels of enthusiasm.

Nice water feature they're passing.

Honestly, I would be scared to ride that thing, considering how their previous ride went.

Free fall. There are lifts more exciting than that. And I'm not talking about actually fast skyscraper lifts.

That's quite a speech. I guess frustration can do that to you.

I find that an odd order to get dressed.

Oh, right, she forgot the "eek". Well, at least she remembered it without further input, unlike another girl in another current anime.

Why not believe in magic when she can pull that out from under her skirt. Horizontally.

The premise is good. Let's see if they can deliver.

I support keeping the threads separate, after glancing at the other thread, because I know some people can't contain spoilers properly.

[up]The comparison between those two characters is somewhat inevitable.

There are differences already, but still not seeing the point of splitting the thread, given how the series go the Chuunibyou route and expand on a single book anyway.

She asked him out so earnestly. It's hard not to lose your head for a girl like that. tongue

There's high self-esteem and then there's just plain narcissism.

Peekaboo!

Because the best place to build a Love Hotel is right next to a Theme Park...

That's... really shabby. In all aspects. This place just no good as it is. Truth be told, the Love Hotel would have been more fun.

Seyia and Isuzu have great dynamic. A perfect mix of deadpan and snark.

Original character, don't steal!

Frustration leads to a passionate speech. And wow, did he point out everything wrong with the park.

So it's... actual faries from a magic kingdom. With magic. And they still can't make the park any good. Seyia will have to work double time to get things done.

All in all pretty good beginning. I'm going to keep watching.

It really makes me feel sorry for Muse in that scene. Here she is, trying to do her best at her job in being a stage performer and going through the routine of interacting with the audience. Except there's no audience, making it EXTREMELY awkward for her. AND SHE'S AWARE OF IT TOO.

She should perhaps have revised her act to not rely on the enthusiasm of a large audience.

^Perhaps, but it's probably a kind of denial method, too. I know I'd rather just quit than have to change 'Hey everyone, sounds like you're all having a great time!' to 'Hey, old man sleeping in the back row? C-can you wake up? We're starting the show now...'

It's been fun.

Now has a page (or rather, I had the format saved months ago, but just pasted it on the site tonight). It needs filling. Especially since I'm going to be busy with more series 6 review tonight at work.

Second episode is out.

It was different in tone than the first one. More somber so to speak, with fewer jokes.

I think they effectively conveyed the bleakness of the situation. I found myself feeling bad for a bunch of mascots. Well, okay I mostly felt bad for Isuzu but still...

Seyia was pretty good this episode, even if the time constrains didn't allow for more time for him to change his mind. I liked his speech there, it really rilled everyone up.

Now that he took the job we can get to the meat of the story. If third episode is good, I'll keep following this.

I loved the part where Isuzu was all like "It...was probably the whole gun thing that drove them away, I know..."

And even I got that Chris Tucker reference (though I only thought of it being similar after the names being based on Western celebrities was revealed to me)

MMORPGs are serious business.

Episode 2. In which it begins.

She's sneaky. I'm hoping he doesn't have the same restriction, though. She deserves that. And I still find her amusingly deadpan.

Refusal denied.

That looks like... fun?

She's cool? And the helicopter worked?

That suit looks sleezy.

That's unusual. Good math skills shown by estimate calculation.

Why would she ask for a chance? An increased period to attract customers? Otherwise they already have the contract.

Interesting estimate of pain.

Nothing to convince him like the enemy. Or a sad gathering.

Is it that hard to just climb a set of stairs?

Kind of obvious what he was aiming for when the music changed. And he's putting his power to good use. Will probably be something to use for improving the park as well.

Well, that first order is something they should've done long before.

I think the direction they took here works better than a more comedic one. Seen that too many times before.

Second Visit:

  • Mind-reading: Everyone gets one.
  • Getting punched is not fun. But they must grin and bear it. It's all they can do right now.
  • Chris Tucker's a jerk.tongue
  • Heh, the grim situation was conveyed pretty well. Poor Isuzu and Latifa.
  • Seiya wanted out. And he sure was adamant about it. But he just couldn't leave this sorry bunch alone. So begins his quest to make a brilliant park out of this place. And the way he gauged the mascot's commitment to the people was cruel, but effective.
  • And now he's testing them again. Gotta agree with him, the place needs a nice cleaning.

Maybe they should call in Ryuuji.
