Chapter 140 is out. The levels this school sports festival has reached.

Do Japanese schools really have a tricycling event?
Not that I know of but I wouldn't put it past Japan to have an event like that.
You gotta respect that poor announcer who's desperately trying to cover up Akane's shit.
I don't know if there are tricycle races, but if they're all that epic I'd pay to see one. Also, Catpire.
Why was Nagisa dressing Youko as a catgirl? That's just so random.
Sakurada almost went back to how he was back in the day. Thankfully he has his friends now.
Celestial Spinster God Castle!
Wait a minute.... is Akane doing all this because she'll be lonely if Akari marries?
Yeah, Karen pretty much spelled it out in the bookstore "date" chapter.
Holy crap that was glorious. Most dramatic tricycle race I've ever seen. And some of the greatest expressions too, which is really saying a lot.
Also, the final round is basically Takeshi's Castle on steriods.
Reaction Image RepositoryPretty much.
Chapter 174: WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER HEEEEERO!! But we might need another costume. Rin reveals that since time travel has been discovered, no one has ever managed to change the past. Even when the details change, the end result never does − which is why they can travel to the past so carefreely. But both Rin and Karen encourage Asahi to at least try. Speaking of which, KAREN I LOVE YOU. ;__; …Anyway, Heromine is busted by Touko immediately, but not by Genjirou of course.
Yet another chapter that seamlessly alternates between heartwarming and hilarious.
So I started to read this manga. How should I describe my sentiments?
Well, it feels like someone wrote a standard, supernatural highschool comedy...and wrote a Crack Fic of it.
A good Crack Fic.
I like its rapid fire comedy and more emphasis on comedy than romance. Almost every chapter makes me go "You've got to be kidding me" but in a good way. I could use something like this.
EDIT: Just finished chapter 43. Two things:
First, kudos to the manga for actually wrapping up a potential romantic arc this early on. (Glares at Nisekoi)
Second, oh wow, this whole arc with Mikan is the first time in this manga that I actually felt romance in the air. I wouldn't have minded that pairing, at least not a whole lot.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Heh heh heh you have no idea what lies in wait.
But seriously yeah, I was very pleasantly surprised by this series. It's definitely the best romantic comedy series I've read. Mainly because it's so self-aware and avoids any melodrama that isn't played for laughs.
Reaction Image RepositoryOh there's some melodrama, but justified enough to not be annoying.
Anyway, welcome on the Jitsu wa train. A train that doesn't stop.
Woooh, I'm glad that you've hopped on the crazy ride. It really is a good series isn't it?
Jitsu wa's the brand of good manga that you wish never ends. It's very entitled to complain about "not getting enough" with weekly manga, since mangazines might literally be Satan, but Jitsu wa is one of those manga that feels satisfying on a weekly basis. Like, even when things end on a cliffhanger, chapters are so dense with great comedy and character moments that every weekly update just makes you feel like you've had your fill for now.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I don't know if I'd consider the bits of actual drama to be melodrama since, like you said, they're justified. But I know what you mean.

Reaction Image RepositoryI was thinking about Youko pulling an Love You and Everybody and running away from Asahi's confession in chap 48 or Youko misunderstanding and crying in chap 83... and that's about it actually? Dunno if you can call that "melodrama" but, yeah.
This. I read most weekly series out of habit, but Jitsu wa's the only one I'm genuinely waiting for every week. I hadn't felt that since way back when I was new to manga and read Naruto or Bleach at their peak, 10 years ago.
I don't want Jitsu wa to last for too long because as you said, weekly publication is hell and takes a huge toll out of an author. Although Masuda seems to have a small army of assistants on Jitsu wa.
Well, looking at the raws, Jitsu wa is probably nearing its end. They're already halfway through the third year, and it's probably going to end after graduation.
Yeah, I don't know if I'd really even consider those to be all that melodramatic since it's perfectly in-character and they really aren't played that seriously in the long run anyway. For me at least, melodrama is the material that's so overwrought that it becomes absurd, but is still played straight. This series knows whenever it's heading into absurdity and intentionally ramps it up.
Anyway yeah, I'd much rather have Jitsu Wa end while it's still going strong rather than start to slack off on quality. I mean, obviously if the quality cold be retained it would be great for it to go on indefinitely, but that's not gonna happen.
Reaction Image RepositoryEeeh I'm not sure about that. Seems like the current arc is gonna be a bit long and there are still quite a few plot points to address. Like why has future!Nagisa really come to their time (cause it's clear motivating her past self wasn't the only reason), who is the CPII, what happened to Youko in the future, Akane's plan, or how is Tesaki secretly planning to take over the world…
…Okay, I made the last one up. But that's a lot of things to solve.
Oh, you meant it that way. Uh, okay.
I really need to stop posting when sleep deprived. Looking back on it, even I'm not sure what I really meant.
Also, Jitsu Wa being what it is, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the major revelations become either The Unreveal or a massive Anti-Climax.
EDIT: This is sort of random, but does your scanlation team have any downloads? I'm going to be traveling for a couple of days, and I may not have internet access, so I'd like to have at least some of it on my computer.

Reaction Image RepositoryRead chapter 83.
I think Shiragami is a bit dense.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Huh... I'm not sure but I think you have to go through the teams IRC channel to download the chaps, using the codes on the website.
Yes, a bit. She just needs a sturdy can-opener in those cases.
Read 88.
What is this? A romantic comedy manga where the main couple confesses to each other and discuss what they will do now before even hitting 100 chapters? Preposterous!
One should go hundreds of chapters before going anywhere with romance, like masterpieces like Nisekoi and Negima!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. The best part is that the manga doesn't let up after that happens. Asahi and Youko are just as adorable and hilarious afterwards as they were before, maybe more.
Yeah, believe it or not, the plot actually gets thicker from now on.
Shiragami is dense as a neutron star, yes.
Anyway yeah, if anything the series just ramps up from this point on.
