Poor Image: Blackout Basement

For the image on Blackout Basement, I have really no idea what I'm looking at; it appears to be an arbitrary collection of dots and lines (and I've actually played the game depicted, and the image still doesn't make sense to me).

I think this needs a more straightforward example, such as this one◊ or that one◊.

I'm torn...I can tell more easily what's going on in the suggestions but I like the lighting effect in the current more.

Would Limbo work well enough for this?

I kinda like the first suggestion.

I thought this at one time had the Trope Namer as an image, although for that reason I'd probably not pick it anyway, for diversity's sake.

I agree that the current image is unclear.

Another option[1]◊ It does show the 'important objects still somehow appear in the darkness' thing that these levels love to do.

Honestly, the current picture works just fine for me. There is a small bit of light in a dark area. The caption just confuses the issue since it makes me look for the not immediately apparent or really all that important tentacles and Eldritch Abomination has undergone so much trope decay I find every pothole to it suspect until I am intimate with the work in question.

But the image is fine, no reason to change it. It's dark and hard to navigate, that much is clear.

I like 1.1 the most, over the current. 4 looks a bit too consistent for my liking. Not sure what 5 is.

5 could work if cropped, but 4 is the best.

Am I the only one bothered by quality issues with 4? JPEG, odd aspect ratio, blurry/non-integer resize, etc. It's a great scene to take an image from, but I'm not sure that specific image is what we should be rocking.
