More Pokken footage from one of the location tests.
My take away so far:
- Everyone has an evasive roll, not just Machamp.
- Everyone seems to have context sensitive moves like Smash - press an attack while dashing, for example, and you get a different move from if you were standing still.
- Everyone has grabs, too, which is neat.
- Gardevoir has a bit of Jun/ Junknown flavor going on. Its uppercut is very similar to the latter's pseudo-projectile one. Something makes me want to say Lilli's in there to because Lilli is pretty much the Gardevoir of Tekken, sans the telekinesis.
- Lucario very vaguely reminds me of Feng Wei, a Kenpo user. Probably has more inspirations than just him at work, though.
- Winning while Mega Evolved grants different win animations. Dunno if that's true for Bursted mons that don't Mega Evolve.
- The one Mirror Match had the opposing player's Pokemon's appearance be identical to the player's for about a second, than they were sort of zapped into a different palette. I guess you can have whatever appearance or palette you want when playing online and it won't effect your opponents choices the way some fighting games lock you out of picking a particular palette if your opponent beat you to it, or vice versa.

I'm honestly not sure how Machamp players can ever possibly win against Suicunes. Getting close just doesn't seem to help.
Also find it weird how the underside of red Gardevoir's dress is still green. Something they forgot, maybe?

Obviously it's a Christmas Gardevoir
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI could imagine that winning in non-Mega burst mode still gives you a different victory pose, since that basically means the mon got all pumped up. So they'll probably be more aggressive about it.
I wonder how the level system in this game works exactly. It seems that you level up to unlock more assists and things like that.
Once we get translated information more will be revealed, I think.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!... did Pikachu just do the ORAORAORAORAORA...?
Hm. Have to say. Not a fan of Gardevoir's voice.
The Pikachu in Pokken seems to have been trained by the Mishimas
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Heracross deconfirmed. Ah well. There are plenty others I can get my hopes up for.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I didn't even see Heracross in that.
Also I think I know who voiced Gardevoir.

Any new mons revealed roster wise?
No. Looks like they're trying to milk hype for this one slowly. It's not due out in arcades til summer we've got time.
I think he shows up in the background of one stage. I wouldn't take it as confirmation of anything, personally.
Yeah, playable fighting game characters have been appearing in the background of stages for decades. Sometimes the background changes to not have them if they're being used in the arena.
Of course since this is Pokemon, not even that matters.
Yep. Tekken 5 has Lee in the background of the pool stage, only to vanish when's he's being played, so those background deconfirms ain't shit.
Ooh, the trailer has a 60fps option. Here's hoping.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectSo that means Wailord is still possible? =O
I'm very fond of that moveset we made up where he falls on things and makes them die.
Because he wants them to die.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project... Now I'm wondering. In games with summoning magic, could a magical being use that magic to summon itself?
Is that how Wailord would work?
Summon Bigger Fish Surprise It Is Me?
Isn't that kind of what teleporting is? Summoning yourself? But somewhere else?
I'm saying Wailord should have Teleport, basically.

Wailord should have Hyperspace Hole
I'm sure those rings are big enough
Wailord is an assist. You summon him, and a giant shadow looms over the stage. Both players have a few seconds to scramble for a place to avoid it... only to realize that it's too big - there's nowhere to run. It then squashes both the opponent and the one who summoned it, doing 107% damage.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. So is Wailord the new Ridley now?
I guess this region uses a Latin naming theme. Something Serebii pointed out is that all of the alt colors have some kind of colorful band on the Pokemon's body. Gardevoir's arm, Lucario's thigh, Pikachu's midsection, and I believe one of Machamp's bicepts. Dunno if that means anything, but there it is.
The NFC technology is actually pretty common with Namco's fighters - In Tekken and Soul Calibur, you can use cards to store your win/lose record and custom costumes, though Amiibo support's definitely not out of the question.
