Own Your Sins ( Urban Fantasy/High School Interest and Sign Up)

You are a Sinner. Your soul is on the path to damnation. However, if you truly have the desire to repent, then we may be able to make a deal with you.

You are a student at the local high school in Castor Hill. There is something that you have done, for which you feel guilt. If you wish to cleanse yourself of this sin, then you will have to accomplish a simple task. When the time is right, we will call on you to perform this task, and your sins shall be forgotten.

But know this, your guilt has the power to consume you if you let it. To survive the trials that await you, you must come to terms with your sins.

The sleepy town of Castor Hill, with a population at barely 6,000, has never been known for much. It has decent schools, decent homes, and mostly decent people. Nothing bad has ever happened here, or at least that is what the people told themselves. However, things have begun to change. In recent months almost 15 random people have suddenly broken down into states of suicidal depression and taken their own lives. No one truly knows the source of their depression, but most believe that there was something unnatural about all cases.

Now, unknown to the population at hand, a group of high school students have been tasked with protecting the town from the despair that is slowly spreading throughout the population.

Sorry if that sucked. I am not really good at pitching my ideas on these.

Anyways, what I am trying to do here is tell a story that combines my most recent obsessions in a different way from what I have seen. This RP is inspired by things like Madoka Magica, Persona3 and Persona4.

In this game, each character is a Sinner. The Sinners have been contacted by a trio of mysterious figures, who the Sinners can not remember actually seeing. The Sinners are on a path of redemption, which can only be reached by clearing the town of Banshees. Banshees, in this story, are shadowy monsters who use the guilt of individuals to feed off of them. To fight the Banshees, the Sinners have been given elemental magic and enhanced physical prowess.

Since my computer hates me and will not let me go back and edit my first post, I will have to add the info I left out here. So here are a couple things that I think need to be added:

• In this RP players will not have the traditional ability to determine what powers they get. Instead their starting power will be determined by the GM based off of their sin.

• Each sinner will be given a starter spell, which will grow and get stronger alongside the player.

• Their are seven elements in this setting: Fire, Wind, Ice, Earth, Light, Darkness , and Life. Fire, Wind, Ice, and Earth are self explanatory, but the other three are a bit different.

Light: The ability to create Hard Light objects, such as barriers.

Darkness: The ability to nullify, bind, and weaken foes.

Life: The ability to heal and buff teammates.

• Personality: Damian hides his guilt and self-contempt underneath a thick facade of sarcasm and apathy, scared of getting close to others and then losing them. He considers himself a heartless monster, endlessly blaming himself for his failings and sin, whether or not he's right is up for debate.
• Other: Damian receives a stipend from his relatives which keeps him housed and fed. Accomplished archer.

• Age: 17
• Appearance: My name is Hanna Velsing. You killed my father, prepare to die.
• Sin: When she was 7 her vampire huntin' father was killed by a vampire. She took her vengeance at the age of 14...only to discover that the vampire had a family of his own and had been resistin' his vampiric urges out of guilt from killing her father. Since then Hanna has sworn to never bear arms against a vampire again.
• Personality: Hanna is extremely quiet and softspoken. She avoids confrontation like the plague and is very paranoid. However it'd be wise to not get on her bad side...
• Other: Has an encyclopediac knowledge of vampires, vampire huntin', the occult and other oogey-boogeyness.

• Name: Alexander Graham Payne
• Age: 17
• Appearance: "I imagine you recognize those papers here."
• Sin: Negligence - he let his best friend go on her own at night after her reassurance that she'll be fine walking "mere 10 minutes from here". The subsequent assault by a thug left her crippled and in an indefinitely long coma. Said thug's body has been found in an alleyway soon after the deed, horribly maimed. This failure was eating at Alex for quite a while now, giving him a mission to protect all innocent - even if he has to become a monster himself.
• Personality: Ever since that tragic night Alex's been a quiet, cold fellow. He opens up only to the select few, others can only expect a coldly polite greeting at best and a hostile scowl at worst. No dirty trick is dirty enough for him: in the game of "Justice" all is fair. Never mention that night either, that's a quick way to get yourself injured.
• Other: The glasses are only for reading and for ascetics, he takes them off when they're not needed. Is also proficient with Krav Maga.

Alexander and Damian are accepted, but before i accept Hana, Philosophers Stone, I got to say i like the character but there are no vampires in this setting.

• Name: Samantha Ito (previous surname: Lamar)
• Age: 18
• Appearance: No pictures because I cant draw for shits. Black hair, dark skin, hazel eyes, usually wear a white hoodie with the hood up most of the time even if the environment is hot, baggy jeans and a beanie, she's 6'1 tall.
• Sin:
  • She was born to an African American father and an Asian mother, once lived in south central Los Angeles, California. She was once obsessed with gangster rap and the gangster life in general when she heard the various songs on the radio and the stories she heard from her friends, at the age of nine. She adopted the gangster attitude soon after and essentially acting hostile who was against her, joined a gang of bullies, not the bitchy ones like in High School Musical, but the real hardcore shits, with baseball bats and gang fights and the such. The best part about it is, despite getting caught by the school and the police repeatedly, her mom is still cool with her and continues to spoil her while her dad just scold her from time to time but eventually gave up and be apathetic, working at as data entry clerk and coming home just to drink alcohol and watch television.
  • Then one day, when she was 16, her mom taught her how to shoot with a pistol and later an uzi, trained in the isolated part of town, though Sam did not mind one bit as she enjoyed the moment. 6 months of weekly training later, her mom suddenly woke Sam up at 12 midnight, asking her to help with grocery at a 24/7 store for her mom's friend, who was driving a black van. At first, it seems mundane, if at a bit of an awkward timing, Sam was just buying boxes of mineral water and loaded it onto the family van. Then, during their journey home, her mom suddenly handed Sam an uzi and ask her to "Shoot the motherfuckers in red" when she slide the door open and she gave the command. Sam was taken aback by the sudden instruction. Right before the moment came, she ask what would happen if she refuse to shoot. "Then I would be very disappointed," her mum answered with tranquil fury. And that was the day Sam had her first drive-by, killing six gangbangers and the day she was officially entered her mom's family business.
  • Her mom divorced not long after the drive-by, disposed of the uzi and moved to Castor Hill to keep a low profile from the LAPD and to take advantage of a 'market' that was not as competitive as back home, though she simmered her activities down when the place got some unwanted attention from the police due to recent suicides and instead operate outside of town, leaving Sam alone at a luxury home. In the meantime, Sam got her earnings from her mom for doing jobs for her, from selling drugs to gang fights, but she still feel guilty from what she did and smokes weed frequently to sway it away from it.
• Personality: Chilled and generally trying to stay positive from time to time, 'bragging' about her being a true gangster instead of lame-ass wannabes on X-Box live and generally very snarky but she ultimately hate herself for what she did and deprecate herself.
• Other: Her mom and the gang's presence were generally nil in Castor Hill so no help from her 'homies' when she gets in trouble.

Sin: A year ago, Alice ran into the road to grab the hat she had been given from her mother. One of the cars, driven by one of her classmates, swerved in an attempt to miss her and crashed into a pole. Rather than call for help, she fled the area.

Personality: Since the incident, Alice has drifted from her originally friendly self to a tsundere loner. She feels that if someone gets too close to her, they'll learn her error and stop liking her, so why bother making people like her at all?

Other: While the classmate mentioned in the backstory didn't die, he was left blind as a result of injuries from the crash. She has yet to talk to him out of guilt.

• Personality: Has a short temper, lives in paranoia of bullies and is extremely depressed.
• Other: He has developed an interest in stray animals.

• Name: Laoch "Weird" O'Connell
• Age: 17
• Appearance: A scrawny young man stand 5,10, he has a bright green mohawk and a nose ring, along with a hooded trench coat, he usually wears a black long sleeved shirt underneath.
• Sin: Accidental Murder, Weird pulled a hit and run, he was heading home after a party and got into a head on collision, killing a young girl, horrified, Weird immediately drove away.
• Personality: Honestly? A bit of an asshole. Weird is sarcastic, never without a quip, he is also more then willing to cheat and has a habit of getting in fights, however, he spends most of his time on drugs, trying desperately to forget his sin, which he believes that, if he forgets it, it will vanish forever. As such, he is hesitant to fight the monsters, as he fears that will just bring the memories back.
