In 4, the third panel may work, but it will need the caption to point out that the AOC is wrong. Plus, given that the trope is about film and television, I am not sure if that webcomic example would even work.

Very small, at best illustrates California Doubling (just look at the URL), and even then looks generic enough (the admittedly-wide freeway and glass building dominate the composition) that one could legitimately mistake it for just about anywhere in the US, especially with how small it is.
