So I just watched the movie and lemme say can't wait for eclipsa.
MIASorry to double post but has anyone stalked about season 3 yet? I wanna hear some speculations. I'm new to this fandom thing.
MIAI think people talked plenty in last pages. But if I were to voice my opinion, I would say that HOLY SANDWICH those were some of the best SVFOE episodes yet, and I've enjoyed every minute.
One of the great things about this show is that even during grand events it keeps its cheerful goofy tone and all characters still talk in the same way rather than entering "serious mode". Star was Star through the whole thing and she was great. So was Ludo, Marco, Eclipsa, Glosserick etc. Man, Glosserick BTW. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I really found him annoying at first, but he grew into really fun and enigmatic character. And then that part at the end where Star saved herself with his perfect ball of pudding ARE YOU KIDDING ME, this show is just nuts, but in a good way.
This is why I've enjoyed that this movie was just bunch of small episodes rather than the long story. It leaves more time for fun bits like Mime (Genius!) or Ludo trying to write in book (whole bit with mermaids killed me. Reverse-Mermaids with fish bodies and human legs were a nice touch)
And dramatic parts still work very well. Queen's flashback was one of best parts, I would like to see more of young Moon actually. Toffee was a great villain, he always at his creepiest when he non-reacts to things and ending delivered that. BTW is it fair to assume that he might be Eclipsa's son?
And I know everyone already said it, but Marko looks really good in that cape.

Two things
1. While it is definitely no secret by now that both Marco and Star are very close, I couldn't help but notice that, during "The Battle for Mewni", Marco also seemed to have a connection with both of Star's parents as well. He, apparently, had some sort of rapport and/or camaraderie with King River, as far as I could tell, and as soon as Queen Moon saw him locked up in the dungeon, she immediately said his name in shock and concern and then ran over to free him without a second thought. Just something that I noticed is all, any thoughts on the matter?
2. By now, it is definitely no secret that both Star and Jackie have feelings for Marco, but, I suddenly feel the need to ask; what was it about Marco that ultimately drew them both to him?
It should be pretty obvious in both cases...Jackie basically said why.
And Star's was the Blood Moon Sphere...thing.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.@rebak
Basically what randomness4 said(the book expands more on the Jackie thing as well).
New episodes starting Monday November 6, for two weeks, Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu.
Hooraaaaay!
Already advertising for it, good. Kind of frustrated it's gonna be in a bomb format though, it's just gonna make it go by quickly before we enter another hiatus.
Now something I have to ask: has anyone seen any criticisms of the story arcs of the show? I've seen occasional criticisms pop up about the show's story arcs and lore, never really in detail though. I kinda wanna understand the basis for criticizing them, honestly.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I can only guess they'd be similar to criticisms of other modern Disney shows!
Which are?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?My biggest criticism about the show's story is really more of a pet peeve of mine that it did. I hate it when shows spend the majority of the time building up to a certain villain only for it to suddenly go "No wait I like this one better" and drop it (or at least deal with it more quickly than the build up would suggest) for a new one who wasn't built up as well.
That being said, Eclipsa is doing much better in that regard than most examples I can think of.

This song needs more love.Nice! But why in frickin November?!
"We be we baby!"Just saw a stop motion bumper on Disney XD where Star and Marco get lost and end up in The Haunted Mansion. It was cute.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Last Chance? Ohhhhh, things are getting spicy now!
"We be we baby!"They really haven't gone anywhere with some of the subplots(Marco for instance) and outside the mains, character development leaves MUCH to be desired same for expanding the setting with regards to how bland and kind of hollow Echo Creek feels.
Admittedly fair, the mundane setting is really boring compared to everything about Mewni. Though I don't fully understand the thing about subplots, care to elaborate?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?As an example, they spent a lot of time and episodes building up the whole Jarco ship(Jackie and Marco) and have even teased some story breadcrumbs about Jackie and teased some development for her character(both in show and in the book), but they ultimately haven't really gone anywhere with any of it. She technically became his girlfriend after the events of Bon Bon the Birthday Clown, but her character appearances didn't increase nor did the character chemistry between her and Marco with him STILL being insecure and awkward around her when he really has no reason to be that way anymore on top of her basically being his "girlfriend" in name only since outside of the Bon Bon episode itself, Just Friends, and the season ender itself Starcrushed which put a severe strain on the relationship, they've never been shown interacting at all let alone as a couple. Similar wound up being for Tom's anger issues which at first it seems he wants to get those fixed to get back with Star, but Nefcy has gone on record saying it's because he doesn't want to be like his Father when something like that would have been better brought up on the show. Toffee was also mentioned by Nefcy to have been a complex multi-layered villain with similar reasons for his actions like Magneto, but we never saw anything like this from him at all either and he seemed to have been built up only to essentially get jobbed in the end.

Hmm...can kinda see with the first two, the third I'm holding out on because there's still a huge implication that Toffee has some tie with Eclipsa that hasn't been fully revealed yet.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Fair point, but I remember there was a post by someone who worked on the show that confirmed that he was in fact dead. Will link via edit when found.
Could be that the revelation happens in flashback, which would be disappointing unless they're lying about him being dead for real or they pull Exact Words on us.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Most of the fun I had was making "Hey it's that voice" observations, like how Queen Moon once consulted with Knuckles the Echidna and Princess Carolyn. I honestly wasn't sure whether I liked King Alan Tudyk or King Alan Tudyk better; I mean, he was also King Alan Tudyk in 2012, and then he was [[Disney/Frozen some fool duke]]! Then if Tress MacNeille was the mime, then that was definitely some great casting
