...So then, what now? I mean, it doesn't sound like they're going to just leave so...
On the upside, I can't image anything more stupid and pointless than this happening.
Escanor kills everyone,manga's over?
Secret SignatureAlso,
So, what do you think happens now?

I don't know; I think it was literal. Escanor seems to get bigger the more he powers up.
But his armor just happened to grow with him this time? That his clothes don't grow in size has been a consistent thing; it's why when he first appeared they obviously tailored to be for his size in the day and look huge on him at night.
One thing I am curious about is the supposed problem with his power that Merlin brought up when she was explaining his deal. At the time it seemed like the problem was he gets too arrogant for his own good disregards his comrades but that hasn't actually been the issue. In fact, we've seen the exact opposite.
The ten commandments were active for a month, right? The heck was Escanor doing in that time?
That's a very good question. Even here, it doesn't seem like he was with Ban and the others so much as he just decided to show up and appeared out of nowhere.
I don't really see the point in this month of doom and gloom if all it was going to take was Escanor to fix everything, so obviously this isn't over, but things are on a very delicate tight rope right now as to not come off as total B.S.
Ok, Escanor is reaching Itachi/Kenpachi levels of obnoxiousness now.
Two questions: for those of you who hated this latest development is there anyway for Escanor's character to be salvageable? Similarly, do you think he can salvage the Ten Commandments threat level?
Not without enormous amount of backtracking, no.
To be fair the commandments are still too strong for most of the cast to handle.
Mileena MadnessThat just means most of the cast doesn't really get to do anything tho.
You know, with King's Disaster, I wonder if it's possible for him to use it on himself to increase his own strength many times over? I feel like something like that's going to happen.
But anyway, I don't think this business with Estarossa isn't going to leave a bad taste in my mouth, but whether my opinion of the series takes a major hit depends on whether the good guys actually win overall at this battle.
I don't think the series can make Escanor good. Or rather, it won't. In fact, if Estarossa is really down then I'm out.
You better believe in Estarossa then. Read the spoiler oh dear..

Mileena MadnessDo you mean if Estarossa is dead or just defeated?
Does it matter? Either way destroys the enemy threat level.
Spoilers.
Battle for the defense of Liones"
Escanor blows away Estarossa along with Zeldris that came to help him and decides not to return to Liones at once due to the excess of magic power and waits till the night.
Meanwhile, Monspiet feels two powers moving away in the distance in an instant and invites the ass girl Derrierie to the hypocenter.
But she objects that the choice is illogical and they continue their original castle attack.
Howzer, who was prevented from battling by the commandment, convinces Gil who's trying to go to battle despite that, retreats with him to help the citizens. The other Holy Knights out in the town brought the people along with them but they were subject to the commandment as well and attack Gil and Howzer.
The one who fights back Derrierie and Monspiet who recommend him to surrender is Denzel.
"Come out of the sword⦠"Nerobasta".Bless me with your light.I offer my soul and tastes to the new divine object as a follower of your light."
Denzel manifests the big-breasted goddess in exchange of his own life and Derrierie fights back.
"The Denzel vs. Derrierie combat starts!!!! The captain of the Pleiades of the Azure Sky, host to a Goddess, now enters the stage!!!"
To be continued in chapter 187 / Perish, you evil people.

Secret SignatureIf true, and it probably is, what garbage.
Looks like Escanor's true power is controlling the time of day.
At least the Commandment's still in effect so they're alive, but of course,Escanor won't bother confirming his kill, cause lolPride.Good.
Secret SignatureArc seems like it's nearing the end.
Mileena MadnessBut it's all "refreshing" and shows the other Sins aren't worthless.

You know, the more I think about all of this, the more I think "Fairy Tail". Like, the two have always seemed pretty similar to me, but this always seemed more like "Fairy Tail done better" but as time goes on it's more like "Fairy Tail...done like actual Fairy Tail". And I don't even hate Fairy Tail, but I don't consider that a good thing.
Escanor isn't even the cause of the problem, he's just the most obvious, annoying symptom of the problem.

I think the difference is that Nakaba isn't yet settled on whether the Sins are the underdogs, while with Mashima, with the exception of 1 or 2 characters,Fairy Tail MUST be the underdog.Even if you have to force them EXTREMELY to the position.
