Clock is set.
Good pics, but not sure if either of those are examples. Even though they're artificial, e-brains in GITS are designed to mimic all the functions of a real one. Well... plus a built-in phone & computer because Everything Is Online.
This should be reclocked. The thread wasn't opened for a while, and even if it was, sometimes when I see a new thread, I want to comment, but it's not open. Then by the time it does open, I've forgotten about it. I don't really like this new system, to be honest.
But onto the suggestions, they certainly look like this trope, and that's the best illustration that we're gonna get. I'd support them over the current, even if they aren't technically examples.
I agree. I don't watch GITS, so it illustrates the trope just fine to me.
I agree, we can't have threads unopened for 2-3 weeks. They get pushed to the bottom where noone looks at them, and then when they are finaly opened some random troper must check that 3 week old thread and post something to push it up.
I agree the new system is awful, but nothing we can do about it. That said, for arguments sake, how about Battle Angel Alita? [1]◊ [2]◊
Methinks that arguments about the thread approval system ought to go in the policy thread or in Wiki Talk.
The OP pic looks more like some brain-shaped computer - not the trope. I can't see what 7.1 is but 7.2 looks fine.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, I wrote an argument against the approval system in the policy thread, as Septimus suggested. Hopefully, something gets done about it.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Well being mine and being that it sat around for so long... id like to get some kind of consensus...
Do I really have to make the crowner for only 4 suggestions?
I once made a crowner with only two, so I think that's fine, though I'd probably wait to see if anyone else have other suggestions.
Not really sure about any suggestion.
Would help if the mods who open the threads post to bump them.

Check out my fanfiction!that would help but I don't understand... it doesn't get bumped once it is released?
If it's just unlocked, it doesn't get bumped, and will likely be forgotten because most people who frequent these forums have already looked at it, but saw it locked and had to wait until unlocked but never got any indication it got unlocked.
If the mod posts in it after unlocking, it will get bumped, and everyone will see it having a new post in it, which means something has happened.
Check out my fanfiction! You're absolutely right, and in the future I'll try to remember to do that.
That alone would make a big difference. Somehow distinguishing threads that are still awaiting moderator approval would be great, too; maybe an icon like the clock or star, or even a separate Morgue-analog forum as suggested by Rethkir.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Steering this on-topic... The current does seem like being a stock image from shutterstock. It has to go due to copyright.
Reclocked.
I like both the OP suggestions best, despite the question of whether they are actually an example. 7.2 is about equal with no image for me.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Sorry guys I didn't catch this sooner but I haven't been around lately...
I moved this over to the more appropriate Transferable Memory, but still motion to remove incumbent image from Brain Uploading on grounds of stock use.
The clock is way up on this one. I've pulled the pic from Brain Uploading and tagged the page; locking up.
Old:
The current image is fine as is as far as quality but does not actually illustrate the process of uploading the consciousness into the digital medium... Its just a brain shaped Profile shot of circuits and numbers ala, "The Matrix".
I also suspect it's a stock image.
I suggest some images from GITS which which decently run the illustrative spectrum… simple enough.
