Well, the budget is definitely better, but I have no interest in watching anymore Marie, so I'm out.

Yu is still a bit of a cloud-cuckoo-lander, as he sees Teddie and while Yosuke and Chie are freaking out, Yu just says hi and tries to shake his hand.

Finally watched the episode. Adaptation Distillation in full force with this one. Actually didn't mind the pacing. This series is going to be one big Ship Tease for Yu/Marie so I can see why people who don't like her won't feel the show.

I just wonder if Adachi's role will also be expanded.

Ahahahaha, this is a New Game Plus run. This is gonna be a glorious train wreck.

so since my chances of getting Golden are slim, I decided to pick this up to see if Marie is really that bad of a character. She's a bitch, but also seems to have a nice side,obvious Tsundere here (god, I hate that character archetype), I hope they don't make her too much of a bitch. otherwise, JESUS at that fight,how many shadows did Yu overkill?

People's issue with Marie is that she was kind of shoehorned into the game. She's also a tsundere (and writes terrible poetry), but the first thing I mentioned bothered people more than that. I don't mind her too much, but she did stick out like a sore thumb in The Golden.

Eh, I think Marie Made Izanami less of a flat character and the reason she became the way she did. Also lol @ number of people who hate Tsundere. Gets over that character type folks.

I don't actually hate all Tsunderes as there are Tsunderes I actually like. (like Rin from F/SN). I just hate them when they're overly bitchy and abusive and the shows treat it as okay because "she's actually nice and acts that way because she's actually in love but can't admit it".

anyways, can we talk about how awesome the fight was?

Having played The Golden myself, and being largely in the same boat, I actually really like Marie's character arc. Her tsundere tendencies are played more as quick jokes, and her meaner tendencies have an actual reason behind them. I haven't watched the episode yet so i don't know how they play that up or how far it goes and I won't spoil it.

Marie is far from the bitch Tsundere. No no no that honor goes to Asuka Langely Soryu of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Marie's tsundere moments are hilarious.

Asuka was at least a good character.

Asuka's lines were more battle laden. Marie's lines in terms of revealing upcoming challenges Like Izanami being behind the fog and Adachi + Namatame is awesome.

Man, New Game Plus Yu is just striding around like a boss. And that fight! That glorious, glorious fight.

Man, I don't care about Marie one way or the other, but I know I'll enjoy this.

And anyone who tries to say different is totally wrong. Handsome Rob doesn't do this very often, but until I see reason to believe otherwise, I declare this anime awesome, and that my opinion is the undisputed truth, with anyone who disagrees being completely deluded.

I am god, and this is my word.

On a completely different note, does this mean we will not only see the advanced Persona a bit more Susano and Suzuka Gongen (as all of the ultimate personas only appeared in the last episode), but probably the new forms from Golden as well.

Still reusing Igor's lines, it seems. Yeah, I think they have no intention of replacing his VA again.

Also, given the faster pacing, I think if I was Chie or Yosuke I wouldn't want anything to do with this Yu guy. He comes off as creepy and knowing way too much.

Come to think of it, in terms of pure story Marie has basically nothing to offer as a Velvet Room attendant, does she? I wonder if they'll make up stuff for her to do to make her seem less like a burden.

Episode Highlights!

• Yu utterly destroying King Moron with pure Proswagonist style.

• Yu seems to be aware of the plot a bit more.

• IZANAGI JUST REAPED LIKE 65,000,000,000,000 SHADOWS!!! Pretty sure he is level 99 now.

• Yu starring at Marie after she finished her poem is hilarious. I might use that as a reaction pic.

I know this is super nitpicky, but a level 99 persona in NG+ (at least in golden) isn't as gamebreaking as you might think. You can summon any of your late game personas from the compendium at a steep cost (though your money carries over so whatever) but you can't fuse new ones until you hit that level, and you restart with your original SP pool, which is pretty small. 99 Izanagi has a really high strength stat, but his magic stat's not amazing, so it would be pretty ineffective to use moves like Maziodyne and Megido out of the gate.

Also that's the wrong shade of color for that enemy THIS SERIES IS GARBAGE

But really, I liked the scene. The CGI for the Halberies wasn't bad and I do like me some Hack and Slash style mook slaughter.

I just wonder if the English adaptation will keep the cast changes done for Ultimax and Q...

Since I haven't heard Valerie Arem yet for Naoto.

I was actually unaware of that.

If they ain't gonna replace Igor VA wonder how Persona 5 will be.

It'll probably be P5 when they finally recast the role.

Also if you listen closely to Marie, she highlights that the Velvet Room is boring due to Igor not talking at all if Yu's not in the room.

Watched the OP and it's good to see familiar characters, including Adachi being harassed for money by Ai.

Although I do wonder if the OP if done for an international release will be changed from "Kuma" to "Teddie", since Kuma's used in Asia.
