So we have this page Notable Campaigns, which indexes our various Advertising/ pages. Of course, the "notable" means nothing thanks to There Is No Such Thing as Notability. The name is a relic of an earlier time in the wiki and is an In-Joke against Wikipedia.

And indeed, there is precedent here, here, here, here and here (where such an action was discussed at large) for renaming pages away from names that have "notable" in them towards more general pages like Anime.

Plus, in this case "campaigns" does not clearly refer to advertisements and pages on them (although it's a minor concern) and the page has only 4 wicks and 9 inbounds - while advertisements aren't a big source of pages here, one should be expecting more (e.g Toys has 29 inbounds and LARP - both index pages for little-used namespaces - has 588).

In light of these, I'd like to propose a rename to Advertisements, Commercials or something else, or a merge into Advertisement Campaigns.

Advertisements has a few subpages, so it's sort of already in use.

Advertising is the same as the namespace for them, which is usually the same as the main index page for the medium. Currently a redirect to Advertising Tropes.

Commercials should probably redirect here instead of to Advertising Tropes.

Not sure which to pick, but I think all three of them should point to the campaigns rather than the trope index.

I was not arguing that Advertising/ was not in use at all, just that it's not used much to establish a standard of comparison.

I suspect that the reason why these redirects are pointing to Advertising Campaigns is because of the lack of a general commercial/advertising page, which is another reason to rename this page.

One last bump. Should I just ask for a crowner.

Might as well, I'm just not sure that it will gather much traction.

I support a rename, mostly because the word "campaign" does not immediately bring forth advertising campaigns specifically. It could just as well be about military campaigns (this is what I thought of first when I read the name), or political campaigns, or the campaign mode of a video game.

Well, I support one of the three options I mentioned, and making the other two redirects to it.

Another option would be to make those names redirects to Advertising Campaigns instead, and give this one a more clear index name, like Advertising Index.

I would suggest merging the two pages, but there doesn't seem to be enough interest in making the merge.

Notable Advertisement Campaigns?

I've never seen "advertisement campaign" as a phrase. It's used with the present progressive participle. So, "Notable Advertising Campaigns".

I don't think Notable is a good word to use, since it doesn't apply.

Calling for Advertisements. The other options in green can become redirects.
