From Intelligent Systems, a steampunk strategy game that starts off in London involving Lincoln creating an anti-alien task force. Has a third-person view like Valkyria Chronicles, features animal motifs and Lovecraftian ice aliens.

That throwing arc looks like they ripped it directly from Valkyria Chronicles, too.

Yup, definitely inspiration. Even though they denied that, they DID say the director like those games.

I wonder if John is Russian. One of his attacks is called Bear Grenade and bears are associated with Russia. Henry is American and seems associated with Eagles.

Tomorrow we should be able to see how this all comes together, but I've got to say, what I've seen and heard so far have captured my interests.

And now that I see the cover art, I'm getting some faint Metal Wolf Chaos vibes here. Don't know why.

One of the attacks is a freaking eagle. I think the comparison is apt.

There is already a broken base on the art style of this game.

Some like it because they like American Comics.

Others hate it because the Valkyria Chronicles comparisons they were expecting the same art style.

Few hate it because it isn't in the Anime/Manga art style.

Ugh, tell me about it. I'll give you that the weapons look kind of over-designed, but I don't get the game looking BAD. It looks pretty typical for the kind of game it is and the power of the hardware. 3DS games rarely look good in screens.

Game Xplain's discussion of the round table and they talk about what they saw last night.

Derrick from Game Xplain was the one that asked "If Valkryia Chronicles influenced the game."

I'm sure most people interested in this are in the E3 thread, but the game is currently being discussed on Nintendo's stream.

Huh, it has voice acting. Did they mention that last night?

I heard the concept of the game and I thought it sounded awesome.

But then I saw the playable characters were stereotypical hyper-muscular action-hero dudes. :/ Meh.

That's a little closed-minded. Given the studio, I really doubt there aren't any playable ladies.

Whut? We've already seen a female sniper-ish character, The Fox. She's even on the cover.

I thought I heard of 2 or more?

I do know that The Fox (who I think is a sniping specialist?) is a woman.

Lion is also female (though not human), and I think I heard something about another female character?

From the sounds of things, there are other characters/units that you unlock later in the game, so I'd be surprised if there weren't other female characters besides The Fox.

I really liked what I saw during the Treehouse stream this morning. This game is definitely on my radar.

They're based on comic characters, so everyone is going to look a bit... extreme. For lack of a better word. I personally like the art style, but that's all subjective of course.

There's also a nebbish scientist named Randolph. So way to make snap judgements.

I cannot wait for this to come out. With Splatoon being so heavily dependent on multiplayer (in fact, I'm pretty sure it's multiplayer-only), this is the game Nintendo unveiled (that isn't Zelda Wii U) that I'm most excited for.

Splatoon has single-player story mode. IGN confirmed that it will have single-player.
