Marza animated this I believe.
Yeah, that's them. They have some animating chops. Still doesn't sound like a good idea.
The only live-action anything is Robotnik.

Starring Andy Serkis. Only Andy Serkis.
The Making Of featurette of Serkis acting like Amy Rose and Rouge will be more interesting and entertaining than the movie itself.

But can he juggle?
Just get Jaleel White again
Or Ryan Drummond. Or any other Sonic voice actor. Your choice.
And maybe Ben Schwartz but nobody cares for him.

boop I'm more active on here1. Why is it live-action and NOT animated?
2. DO NOT use celeb voices, use the game voices
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Nonsense, I'd love to see Morgan Freeman's interpretation of Knuckles the Echidna.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Also, an animatronic Silver voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.
Also, a Sonic voiced by Ben Schwartz.
...
I seriously want that to happen by the way, you know, if they don't get the game voice actors.

boop I'm more active on hereI almost regret necroing this already, but
Sony x Sega are indeed moving forward with this
as a "Live Action x CG Hybrid" scheduled for 2018.
Was fun seeing one of my posts from 18 months ago. Nostalgia!
"Live action + CGI" is not an indicator of quality lately, so this is somewhat troubling.
Ya know, I tried making a script for a Sonic the Hedgehog movie where they ended up in the real world...when I was 7 and didn't know how to fucking write.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Yes, like Sonic X. I didn't know that was a thing, to be fair, and now that I know it is, my idea is now one hundred times lamer.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?No but seriously get Sonic back on solid ground with his games first, then you can make a movie.

This song needs more love.Unless this is a Sonic Adventure 2 adaption, I will be disappoint.
A Sonic Adventure adaptation could work, or anything from the "modern" era where they routinely interact with real people.
Of which Adventure 2 is the best plot, for certain.
Honestly the second they said "Live Action CG Hybrid" I lost all hope for this film. I'm more looking forward to see just how bad this whole mess goes down. I can't even imagine the type of writing crew and directing talent and cast they'd need to pull off this soon to be train wreck of a production.
Did that sound cynical? Yeah, it did. Because when you have Sonic, a character who is more well known for the shit produced under his name than the good (arguable) games that once defined him, being put into a film (instead of, you know, having that money and time being put into making an actually good Sonic game) that is labeled as a "CGI Live-Action hybrid", a made up genre of movies that has at best only produced maybe a handful of good films against the mountain of IP bastardizations made with the premise, there really isn't a good way out of it.
Why do I feel like that Sonic fan film from a few years back will prove to be very prophetic?
I'm in the "Hybrid = Doomed" camp. I can't see this working out.
Also, there's a petition to have Arin Hansen (aka Egoraptor) from Game Grumps voice Sonic in the movie.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
Before we judge anything, wait a minute, we did? Dang it. Let's just take a look at the studios behind this.
So the studio is called Moritz and they produced 22 Jump Street and The Fast and the Furious franchise.
So I guess this movie is better than we thought? I don't know.. I saw good reviews for the former and some good and some bad for the latter. Let's just see what they do.
And the studio that's doing the animation is called Marza Animation Planet. Never heard of them.
And I don't know the people who are writing and overseeing this film as well.
With that information, my hopes are raised a LITTLE bit, seeing as Moritz has produced 22 Jump Street and I heard that it was a good film. Still don't care about this movie though.
